The 'Bigger One' was an actual concept with a model made. It was shown during a tour several years ago. The issue was the cost and that it was planned to be the biggest in the world but then top thrill came along and kind of ruined the need for it
@@youtubekilledtrustedflaggi9274 don't think there was a chosen manufacturer, but if you Google 'the bigger one Project PK27' you'll find some old mentions of it.
Blackpool actually has quite a bit of unused space within the park despite appearances. With removal of the Grand Prix and a few nearby unused buildings there is quite a space available.
I actually Flamingo Land will be the park to break it (in a few years) - Sik was very successful (it cost £21m - more than frickin’ Smiler), and they’re still expanding (e.g. Lost River refurb). They have lots of space along the lake, and the council is more forgiving (Cliffhanger is 181ft tall). I reckon they have another coaster investment in the next two years, then prepare for the record around the time of Universal. I say watch this space.
It could happen, people underestimate flamingo land because its independent, when really it actually owns a lot of things such as Bradford City stadium and now alpamare waterpark.
They have been surpring us since Kumali. They are the most consistent so far. Hope they have the money though. The issue with getting to the area is a bit of a blocker because if you live around London, then Thorpe Park and Alton Towers are the easiest parks to get to. Also train tickets nowadays are very expensive.
BPB do own that land and did indeed put markers down for supports a number of years ago. The key issues with BPB is funding, wind speed and maintenance due to the ocean air being very corrosive as demonstrated already on the big one. It seems now, from rumours, that all future retracking on the big one has halted for the foreseeable, and I suspect they may be planning when the ride is retired. It would make the most sense to re-track and reprofile the big one into a new ride. Alternatively it would be an accelerator type model similar to the Bigger One Concept that could perhaps reside within the space where Grand Prix and Avalanche currently are, with it's main element backing onto the big ones lift hill.
Just to continue the final point of the video "the fact they've been retracking the big one shows they plan to keep it around for decades to come" isn't true. It's been re-tracked just to keep the ride safe and operational. The ride needs a tonne of work, and if it was about keeping it open and enjoyable for riders, they would've retracted the entire ride, but they won't as they cannot afford it nor care to do so for rider enjoyment. The Big One has maybe 5-10 years at most left, and that's with some additional re-tracking required which is not planned until 2026 at the earliest given none will take place over the 24/25 off season.
Sorry but the Big One is 213ft. Plus if the Big One wants to increase their height, it won’t be an easy job as they’d have to retrack their entire drop
Thorpe could 100% fit in a giga if it started on the island behind the swarm and they removed the rapids so it could be an out and back and could go behind hyperia, have a turnaround and then return back
I rulled out Alton towers but one thought is they could say revive the now infamous John Wardley cross valley rollercoaster the drop alone i believe would be over 200ft so adding more track to the tree line could be above like 260ft mark but it would probably be very expensive and I highly doubt it would ever happen but it would be cool to see happen
I did hear about that, if it was made, it'd definitely spark a debate on what it means for a ride to be "tall" I could make a whole video about how the way we measure coaster heights aren't consistent at all.
By far the most likely option is Blackpool redoing the big one Phantoms Revenge style and adding a larger drop in. Id put Flamingo Land building something gimmicky like an accelerator as the distant second option
I bet if/when it does get beat it will be blackpool that does it, maybe a slightly taller red force clone and take the europe records at the same time.
if alton towers ever removes oblivion, they would have to dig up that tunnel. if they dug up that tunnel, they could make it even deeper and make some massive coaster that drops like 200 feet underground

I can’t believe Orion is 51 feet taller than Hyperia and 80 plus feet counting the drop yet Americans complain it’s not tall enough the turnaround is as tall as Stealth greateful to have that my home park. Before anyone says it’s to similar to Diamondback who gives a god Danm

Flipping high-quality video mate, subbed
The crazy thing is that Cedar Point used to have 4 hypers, 1 giga and a strata coaster at the same time.

Well to be fair Blackpool one is still winning as Hyperia is broken so you can’t claim a record if the ride not working
tallest operating coaster is still a nice title
They cheat and measure from sea level the big one first drop is only like 205ft
Blackpool will likely build a ride over a large crater so they can claim its height at mantle level instead of ground level 😂
great video, you deserve more subscribers :)
Imagine Pleasure Beach retracks the top of The Big One’s lift hill to make it 2 feet higher, thus beating Hyperia 😂

Not a bad idea, however I have no clue how they'd ever get the local council to agree to that
Answering your title as it was worded, several, SEVERAL coasters beat it. Now if you mentioned only UK in the title then I’d say nevermind.
I’m happy everyone in the UK finally has an elite 10/10 coaster
If you think about it they built oblivion in to a hole which was expensive any deeper could be more expensive so if they wanted to they could
A coaster that is actually open
What's the context for this?
Its gonna be lightwater valley- you heard it here first

I believe there’s only 2 parks with 3 or more hypers-CP, as mentioned (with 5), and CW (with 3).
TT2 and MF are too tall to be considered hypers

I know you make stealth have a bigger launch and have a taller top hat and try and make that top hat like 300 feet
Maybe they could bend the rules and use a great height and then dig down as they do at Alton towers.
They could use the launch system that runs red force. That is LSM.
blackpool could get a giga dive coaster
Black Pool could build an Intamin vertical launch coaster, or that huge Zamperla double heart coaster
A well themed Gíga can top Hyperia
