Great review, keep it up!
Never even knew there was a LWB version. We only have the SWB variant in Australia.
I have a '13 Limited AWD, has 16K trouble free miles now, love it. Plenty of power, rides smooth and quiet.
Do you still have the santa fe 2014? Did it give you any problem
How's it working now? 16k is not even broke in.
@@vincentortega4284 120k now, runs great. Needed front sway bar links at 110k. The rear differential coupler was replaced under warranty about 4 years ago. Needs new timing chain tensioner, slight rattle on cold start.
@@ozzstars_cars wow, that is great. I will need a new used suv in a few years, I like the Mazda cx5 and the Honda crv, but they are very expensive.
@@vincentortega4284 with the crazy market right now with 120k miles, awd, limited model can easily sell for $12k. Decided to hold on to it because none of the local dealers have any new 2021 Palisades available due to covid.
I bought the GLS model. No fancy electronics, sunroof, stereo, or leather. Once I disconnected the "Econ" transmission lockup feature the car became marvellous to drive. Lots of power, good handling (notwithstanding what the reviewer says), quiet and economical for the size "bus" that it is. I used to buy only Hondas but this car is better quality. I always bought V6 Accords for my self, everyone of them was noisy and eventually developed a rattle or buzz.
Before I bought the Santa Fe I drove the 2014 Highlander, it is not competitive with this car. The Toyota is underpowered and the car drives like a truck. That is the handling is vague and unresponsive. The Hyundai is the better value and product by far. I unreservedly recommend the big Santa Fe. I will give this car to my wife and I will probably buy an Azera.
I own two other Hyundais, a 2010 Elantra which my wife drives and a 2013 Elantra which my daughter drives. The 2010 has about 80k miles and is still without rattles and has held up very well. The 2013 is a vast improvement over the 2010. The car is zippy and peppy, smooth transmission, has heated seats and a good stereo. It is also quiet.
I have grown to really like the Hyundai product, the only shortcoming they have is the dealer network. Some of the dealerships are small and can't provide the full range of services such as wheel alignment, this will change soon I'm sure. Hyundai won't allow crappy dealers to continue selling the Genesis.
Best regards
Is this car reliable as the Toyota & Hondas SUVs on long run?...
How about the sound system?
Top dead center is actually a piston position. You probably just mean center, but hey, nobody's perfect.
Cheap hotel, lol!! I hate faux wood trim in any case, but I agree that the beige interior scheme in the Santa Fe highlights the cheesiness. The gray interior uses a cross hatch sort of pattern in place of the fake wood and looks soooooooooo much better.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and design of this Santa Fe. Truly the best looking interior of any SUVs out there.
Since Alex is sick, give Timmy a call.
or Dave...
At 3 min 17 sec the reviewer notes that his advice is to go with the 18 inch wheels instead of the 19 iinch. I have always been told the larger wheel gives the better ride. Did he get this statement reversed?
Not necessarily. My former 2013 Sportage had 19 inch tires, but I wish I had chose the one with the 18s because the ride was smoother with the 18s. It depends on how big and heavy the vehicle is. Ride was rougher with those 19 inch tires.
bigger rims supposedly gives you better cornering but most probably a better look, hence you have them on luxury cars. another con for having them is getting nicked on shoulder. I drive a Subie and it is wonderful how a ground clearance and shorter rims (16s) don't have me worried about curbs.
So what happened to the Hyundai Veracruz, that SUV was gorgeous!!!
discontinued?
yep!
Actually Hyundai still builds them for the S.Korean market. The full size Santa Fe replaces it in NA.
Eugene Parkerson It got completely discontinued EVERYWHERE including South Korea.
Sephiroth Kefka I have checked Hyundai's Korean Web site and they are currently selling the 2015 Veracruz in S. Korea.
Eugene Parkerson My mistake. Another instance where Wiki's can sometimes be wrong :P
Alex has the flu....may have gotten into some bad beer
