Todays highlight! Watching Rory`s driving skills, his completely cool way of behaving and dealing with challenges, and how his rigs perform, doing a dead pull where most other rigs would struggle by their own. In lack of a better words, it`s just awesome!
Exactly! 😎👍
Damn Skippy. Rory is the man point blank
Well said
A man, quintessential.
I liked how he is spotting with hand signals out the top while driving.
I'm 60 years old been wrenching on cars since I was 14 and you just learned me something I'm carrying pepper from now on thanks
I'm 50 and been working on cars my father told me about the pepper trick I never used it before simply because I've been lucky to not be in that bind but I do Carry some just in case 😂
Pepper does work and it works good, but the down side of it is it will eventually plug up the water ports within the engine too. It's not like I'm speaking from experience or anything though. Lol it's great for an emergency though
I'm 70 I must have forgotten the pepper thing. Course or regular grind?
@@BG-vq9fd I used to carry pepper packs from the restaurant in the glove box.
@@roneckler9937 I've use boiler sealer never had a problem with that just don't use too much maybe a couple tablespoons
It's amazing - almost to the point of mind-blowing, where someone could be justified in saying out loud "Wait - WHAAaaaT?" when seeing how your Buggy climbs through these extremely difficult trails. However - it defies the laws of physics how that Buggy also pulled the dead weight of a modified Rubicon up and over all of those obstacles.
The guy being towed deserves a huge round of applause as well, because all *he* could do was steer and put his trust in the mad skills your recovery expertise. So, for everyone who commented that you're a "moron" for do *this* and/or not doing *that* - all I can say is "Sooo... Where's *YOUR* CZcams channel and following?" Or perhaps - "How much money do *you* make per year as a 'consultant for off-road driving experts'???"
Thanks again for sharing your content with us! And what a welcome surprise it was to have gotten up at 1 a.m., fixed a cup of coffee - and see that you uploaded a new video to watch. For you - this recovery difficulty - AND for Mike - 👊👊👊👊👊
Love to see how you are warming up to the camera more and more, videos keep getting better and better every one i watch
Rorys driving, towing, spotting and explaining, all of it is impressive! :)
I'm ready for a trial ride with Rory just to hear the stories he has to tell about all the dumb stuff we do as wheelers! Keep'em coming!!!
That Rubicon appeared to be almost brand new! Did you see how clean the underside was? DAMN!
I don't know if the camera makes the trials look worse than they do in real life, but it scared the heck out of me watching you drive up to the Rubicon. Way too close to drops that would kill you ten times over. I'm just glad you didn't come out the same way that you went in. I swear MORR never comes close to dealing with obstacles like that. Now we have that other Rubicon recovery from the bottom of that canyon to look forward to. This channel is so much more interesting than any of the other off road recovery channels, and Rory has crazy skills. Did those Instagram guys know who they were dissing!? I don't know what I am more excited to see next. I think it has to be Robby Layton's wrecker build, and I really hope we get lots of detailed content of the entire process.
The camera usually makes things look more mellow.
The camera does not even come close to showing you how trecherous the trails are and how steep the climbs and angles are these guys risk their own safty and life many times during a recovery, and any1 that has foolish comments all i can say is wheres your rig, lets see you do it alone in a 100,000$ purpose built rig, because rory is in a 80s leaf sprung 1 ton dually towing the rig you think you can make it thru with that had a seasoned driver in it , rory is the guy thats saves your bacon with skill experience and half the rig hes towing out.
It’s spelled Trails not Trials
Just Saying
Great explanation of the why. Also nice guide service with the trail names and hazards.
New shirt design: Rory & the buggy = Unintentional Awesomeness
Your doing just fine brother, don’t pay attention to the hater’s🤘🏻🇺🇸
Rory should put together a haters only trail run where all the sht talkers could come as a group and show off their skills. Then once the axles and egos are broken, they could pay Rory for spotting and tows.
@@Freedomquest08
This sounds like a bloody great idea, I’d pay to see that! 🤣
Damn 7 minutes in and the story's already wild. Jeep obliterated, 4 wheeler down with it, dude's finger ripped off! :O
CZcams does seem to be really good for getting services talking about recovering vehicles.
Wow I'm surprised that hasn't been picked apart by now given how new the vehicle is.
I was thinking the same thing. The Jeep looked to be in remarkably good condition, and had some expensive parts. There are places I know of where it would have been stripped to the frame within 24 hours, and that's regardless of the owner still being there standing guard.
I was thinking the same really surprised..
even the cats were still there
@@BlackBuzzzard yeah in these days and times it's really surprising.
Odd thing was, all the expensive parts were there, by why are all the fluid caps gone?? They must be gold plated. Maybe they all just popped off in the roll...
I see the word 'awesome' in a lot of the comments here, and rightly so. I am in complete awe of your mastery of the desert, Rory.
These recovery's are an art form. Many are different and unique. - Knowing your vehicle and tow techniques, tools are critical.
You know what your doing. Your customers have faith in you. Don’t worry about what others say. There not there doing it. Great videos!
It's one thing to do these trails when your in control but to be towed that must be a real pucker experience. Rory you make it look so easy with your amazingly built rigs. Mike you are a great addition to the you tube channel. Great job congrats on your You Tube success. Thank you for all your trail, recovery and emergency repair tips.
Watching at home on video was a real pucker experience!
Anyone who says "you don't have to carry the rig" is just jealous of your sweet ass tow truck and wished they had one when they broke down. I would be carrying around my rig in the parking lot just for fun if i had a tow truck.
Looking forward to see how you recover the Jeep.
Rory, again unbelievable things you do. Keep safe. Cheers Cape Town
I am amazed at the strength to move that jeep so heavy and off worse a little hehe thanks for sharing 100 hugs from Mexico ,,,,,,,
It amazes us when you can look at a wreck and say, It needs this and this, and we can get it out!
Holy cow Rory that was amazing!!! Loved it loved it loved it!!!!!
This is probably your best video to date and I've gone back and watched every one. Good camera and narrating, especially since there were only two of you. Big thumbs up.
You have to recover vehicles the best way you feel comfortable with. You have the knowledge of the trails and vehicles where most people don't know how to do what you are doing. I was a heavy recovery tow truck and regular vehicle recovery driver. I totally understand what you are doing and why.
I like your name Mr Robert Hood.
You folks are crazy !! There is tempting fate.. and then there is actually TEMPTING FATE.! I will stick to mud thanks. Great vid !! I appreciate seeing different terrains and the crazy stuff people attempt.. Still like mudding better in BC Canada. Cant die falling outta the truck into a cow-pie cest pool..without a grin. Keep up the great work Rory!
I'm with you sir. I prefer mud too. Where in BC are you? I'm in Calgary and most of the places here in southern Alberta have been closed to us 4 wheelers.
@@CDNBVR1 I'm on Vancouver Island.. where all the Bush roads are controlled by TimberWest.. they built the roads.. so they are all gated now cause of losers dumping trash.. you can get around gates in a quad or side by side.. obviously not bringing a load of garbage with you. :)
@@mycarpounds Thank you for the reply. You're right, there are way too many losers out there. One of the reasons that much of western Alberta is closed to 4 wheelers.
Great content. What kind of drivetrain does the red buggy have? That thing has torque for days.
You are the man for the job, Rory. Well done guys!
It's a pretty cool trick to use black pepper as a sealant like that. Peppercorns are just dried berries that are ground up into small granules and when it's rehydrated, it swells just enough to plug those pinhole leaks. I'm impressed! Good job, Rory!
Getting that jeep out of there is going to be crazy! Can't wait to see it!
I could listen to Rory talk and explain things all day long.. From quebec Canada. And you both did an amazing job getting him out ...
that jeep was off power???? omg Rori you are one of the best drivers i have seen off road and i have been doing it for more than 30 years, gratz man.
"Unintentional Awesomeness" sums up this channel.
Maybe that would be a great addition to a T shirt with Trailmater image. I'd buy one.
Thanks Rory and Mike for the tour and trail commentary. We got a better perspective of that trail. Cheers mate from the UK
amazing... judging by the underbody it looks to have been pretty new.... always love the fact you do all the proper channels to get permissions... and do the right things for the wild lands... the Buggy did an amazing job... but it does need a master pilot... the Yankum ropes are a good tool, but only when they are used properly, and you sure have that knack to use the elasticity to it full potential... an amazing pull around 23:30 .... and great shot at Patagonia... those BFG are incredible... Great Co-Pilot work too Mike ... Power or torque... the Buggy worked great... Rory you are certainly "more on" than the moron couch critics out there.... Thanks!
It’s a shame the forest service isn’t officially declaring the Jeep and 4 wheeler abandoned property so that after you recover them they could be titled to someone who has the resources and motivation to fix them up and run them again. But it’s awesome you are getting them out of there so they aren’t polluting the environment.
Oh my goodness, 'no left turn & skid mark'!
Love watching your videos, but it was exciting meeting you all yesterday. I just wanted my picture with Trail Mater but meeting you was a bonus. Thank you
Man that was a nice Jeep. A Rubicon and all. It looks new underneath. I wonder how the owner explained it to the insurance company. Probably claimed it stolen. Who knows maybe it was but car thieves generally don't go 4 wheeling.
Wow, that rolled over Jeep looked nearly new! Not even any rust on the exhaust. And since the airbag is deployed, I would guess that someone was in the drivers seat.
Never heard of the pepper trick but it definitely makes sense! Thanks for the knowledge! Great video! Can’t wait to see you dig the rubicon out of there.
I have used this "fix" before . Try a mix of course grind & regular grind pepper. The grind has to "catch" in the hole, so fine pepper washes out.
@@jdcoverland365 I'm having course on my eggs and corned beef hash this morning.
Rory you're awesome. Just wanted to say that.
Rory that buggy is damn impressive! I'm excited to see how you recover that jeep
Hey Rory, thank you for taking the time to take us along on these rescues. I LOVE IT. The Morons are the ones who can tell you how to do it yet who is the one out there getting-er done! Stay focused on having fun building your channel. I am totally for you and hope to meet you in person some day.
You get the job done where not too many people are so sure footed. Id listen to your expertise on how its the easiest way to get stuff yanked outta there. That jeep down the hill should go smooth. The trail you pointed out leading to the rig and 4wheeler looks good. As long as you can tether to something that keeps your rig from sliding, then again, what can go wrong can go wrong
Thank you Sir for keeping us all Rolling and recovering our Rigs. You are the Man!!!!
Hey, Rory I think Trail Mater has inspired Matt, Paul, and Robbie to start their own version of Trail Mater. Your Trail Mater will always be the greatest no matter how they try to copy what you have created.
Robby's no fool, he's having Rory build his!
@@Mick_A_Knuckle smart move
Cool, calm and collected as usual! Great scenery which you always make a point of to show. To the commentators of how it "should" be done I say take a left turn... Lol
Rory is a good Man, always ready to help and truly cares about the environment
Holy crap Rory I thought no way the buggy was going pull that Jeep up some of that, right on that buggy has some guts.
Neat story behind this first one, looks like it is going to be a snazzy recovery.
good to see you do the pepper repair always keep some in my 4x4s fixed many a vehicle
Absolutely amazing watching you pull dead weight over what would be a struggle for most rigs. You are a master of your craft!
Great video's Rory, education everytime
Holy crap does that buggy pull! I wonder what the tension on that Yankum Rope was in some of those particularly hard pulls? It'd be kinda fun to put a gauge inline to measure it on a pull like this... NOT cheap to buy one that's able to measure that much force though!
Great job Rory, recovery went well - including the sense of humor and the hand signals for the towed driver while you were towing it. Great vehicle and great skills. Waiting with interest for the roll-over recovery - you do know they pretty much follow the winch line if you pull them up hill backwards. Anyway, it will be "interesting".
Everybody is an Internet Expert! Don't believe me just ask them! They will regale you with all their exploits of how they saved the world in GTA. Rory on the other hand, just quietly goes out and gets things done. Why people cannot figure out that there is no one rig to do it all. If there was then everybody would have one. I love watching you work Rory. Look forward to seeing how you get the Jeep out of that ravine. I have used pepper before to stop a leak and it worked great.
Rory great driving skills 👍👏👍👏👍👏👍POWER💪
Hell yeah!!! The trails and rocks that regular us make a production of climbing, Rory just goes up and down, forward and backwards and pulling a whole Jeep like it's nothing. Great job and great video!!! Thumbs up, buddy.
Wow! Heck of a job! The bottom looks brand new!
impressive pull. climbing all that with an anchor defies all sense of reality. Can tell Rory has played up in these hill a lot. The experience of seeing the right path is also impressive. Unless you have pulled stuff it might be hard to really understand how this is and how capable these vehicles he has built are.
I don't know if it's still PC to give ppl compliments, however, I'm old so I'm gonna do it... You have a terrific smile Mr. Rory and love your videos. Keep up the good work!
Just what i was thinking for the control arms, why work in the dirt.👍
Good pn you for bringing up the pepper trick savedy a$$ a few times.
You have the best job in the world Rory.
That had me on the edge of my seat when you drove over no left turn. Thanks Rory.
Watching this after already watching the recovery. That was an awesome job. 👊🏻💪🏻
Just AWESOME to watch Rory at work!!!!
That is some incredible skill, Rory the ultimate trail spotter! Spotting from the drivers seat of the tow vehicle. Very impressive .
YOU’RE THE MAN, MISTER!! Telling them why you use certain vehicles......like you didn’t have reasons!! Jezzzz
Another nice one to educate the world on what the world is real off world situations, which many people have lived in.🤠😎
I am looking forward to the recovery.
Me too
Black pepper. Never would have thought of that. except for fried eggs, roast, etc. LOL Like that presentation! You know what you're doing!!! That's what matters.
Another well built BEASTIE!
👍👍❤️
If I didn't see the video I wouldn't have believed you could dead pull a Jeep through all that. Well done Rory!
That Recovery is going to be wild! Good luck!
That was amazing! ... I watched this with my mouth agape for most of the video ...🖐😬👍
I love Rory and his way of doing things. He makes this grandmom sit on the edge of her seat with her feet 🦶🏼 tickling sometimes when
He is on the skinny side of the mountain looking down the side that its hard to see the bottom. But I love it.
I am happy Mike was with him today.
🌟🌟👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🏆🏆🏆
Can’t wait for the great recovery of the Rubicon that’s been waiting four years for him to get it out. 🙏🙏
Very KOOL tow and Can’t wait to see the recovery of the Jeep
Been truck pulling and doing tug a truck for years the buggy is really impressive
The Forest Service doesn’t have time to answer their phone but they have time to watch CZcams. Nice.
Another great video, Rory. Your ongoing explanations about what you are doing and how you do it are enjoyable. And it is also cool that you have a wingman on these recoveries. The scenery that is your office is amazing.
Love the Ramcharger hood ornament
Teaching the ways of your Riggs like how to get over things.
I liked that little dig on Patagonia tires!
Great video. Experience counts so much, you make it look much easier than it is. Don't worry about what the arm chair recovery guys say. I drove hooks in my 20's and enjoyed it. The off road recovery stuff looks like the most challenging and and rewarding jobs you could do with a tow rig. Thanks for sharing
I learned something new today: Pepper will stop a radiator leak. Also, I appreciate you explaining how and why you chose the tools you do. It's comical that people question your methods. It's like questioning a surgeon on how best to preform an operation ... bwahaha ... let the expert do his job and shut your pie-hole.
Keep doing what you're doing. You are a total professional & I respect that.
Man I look forward to seeing how you recover this .If anyone can do it you can 👍
My old UVU professor taught me the pepper trick and you are the only other person that I've heard of that knows the magical powers of pepper. It worked on my 03 impala. Thanks Rory👍
That “no left turn” has a pucker factor 100X.
Very nice video Rory Thank you for your honest care and love for the environment by not only trail management but hauling out abandoned vehicles.
LOL @ the pepper trick!! My ex-wife's stepdad was an old black gentleman. They came out to our house for a holiday and he saw me working on my Jeep's radiator. He told me the same exact thing!! That was 35 years ago!!
Rori... 100k subscribers are just around the corner...!!!!
Your channel is growing rapidly...!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
I can’t wait till you hit 1 million subscribers you deserve it Rory.
I'll be looking forward to the jeep on the mountain video!! Nice job getting the Rubicon out too!!!
You know the trails, how vehicles handle under different breakdown situations, and your vehicles capabilities. Do what you do, and do it safely!
Love that Patagonia dig! Haha - Actually what I had really meant to say was the "call-out" he dig, which I most definitely did love!!! Wait what??!?? 😂 Wish I could verbally express my comments as opposed to typing the words like I'm doing right now as I'm typing this. The struggle is surely TRUE (or does the word REAL make more sense here? - See what I mean?) and LEGITIMATELY so very frustrating! Rory BTW, it was a nice change of pace seeing the buggy come out to play!
As with so much else in Life, it's about experience! It's a joy to see you work with rescues and it also becomes clear how much experience you have ..... And experience is not free .... Thank you for everything you share!
Pepper? Thats new to me... Ive heard about Cinnamon, and Soap, but now ive learned a new trick! 😀
Looks like an awesome video in the making. Can't wait to see how creative you have to be to get that Jeep out. I have faith in you Rory you can get it done. That buggy is awesome. You rocked that trail towing another rig. You made that look so easy. This will be one of your most watched videos. Loved it.
Knowledge, skill, experience, good judgement, and BRAINS. Rory combines all these with the proper equipment to be sucessful and safe. GREAT job!!! Oh, and a good sense of humor.
