Well i played this game just now for the first time and i'm 23, and even to me it was a surprise. I did thought she was weird, and she asked a bit too much about Nico, but i thought she was just suspicious that he was a criminal and thought she was as well. So she was just trying to bond on that or something, when i found out she was a cop i felt betrayed like hell.

Its so cool playing the story again and seeing how oblivious i was to all the signs that shes with the feds
Even something as simple as her complimenting Niko when he wears the same clothes. Implying that she bugged them and that she doesn't want him to change his wardrobe. Spiking his drink and then asking him questions was something I hadn't heard in my game until now. That was kind of cool, and messed up.
MiniMackeroni Wow youre right i didnt even think about bugging Nikos clothes. Game is so well thought out and 10 years later im still discovering things. My favorite detail is Niko's english improving throughout the story.
also what ive just realized is that when he first comes to her apartment and everything is like new, she says she's obsessed with cleanliness while apparently it was a set up apartment and everything was just bought straight in so it looks as if she really lived there

The difference between GTA IV and GTA V is so striking. In GTA IV, the karen character is serious, but cheeky. The joke is the situation, not the character. In GTA V, it’s just too much. That goes for every character. Everyone becomes the joke and everyone’s tryin to be a comedian

Because people like seeing old characters and ass insertion jokes are funny! Rockstar humor always has been rude but their satire and commentary in GTA IV was actually funny most of the time, in GTA V the humor got to retarded levels.

GTA IV was the best!
Better writing, physics, police system (something's gta v did better but still.), shooting, characters and for me a really fun online for what it was back then, endless fun. Gta v is just not as good. Dont get me wrong gta v was awesome but it didn't hit like gta iv did, it was downgraded for a bigger open world and three characters, in my opinion not as cool as previous gta characters especially CJ although I really like Niko

Karen did love Nico, and she got her "life" back but 5 years later she's a husk of herself, a hardened government pawn doing dirty work. She won't have kids, close friends, or even someone to listen to her at the end of the day, yet this is the life she betrayed her lover for.
This is why GTA V sucked, we see characters we bonded with like Packie and Karen become shadows of their former selves.
In the end Nico's name (meaning Victory) makes a lot of sense, he's no longer in that life, he played the game and won. Something Karen and Packie can't say.

@Tolga Öztürk basically rockstar planned to have a Sex minigame in SA that you would play after you accepted getting in for a "coffee" with one of your 6 girlfriends... the problem is since adult games were more restrict to younger people, that sex minigame would make GTA SA get tag 18 instead of 16, like every gta that came before, making it sell less due to Stores being more restrictive with adult games, so they cut it, the problem is, they didn't delete the Sex minigame from the game, they just locked it so no one could access it ingame, but a Hacker managed to find out this minigame, activate it, and turn it into a MOD for the GTA SA, and boy, that caused A LOT of trouble for rockstar, making they remove the 1 version of the game from stores, which made them lose A LOT of money with the sales, they got a lawsuit, and had to pay over 26 MILLION dollars, and basically they had to re-release their game, this time with the Hot coffe minigame fully deleted. nowadays it's just a huge meme, but boy on that time... it was Rockstar's worst nightmare... i guess that's why they don't like the modding community that much... but ye, lessons were learned about making sex games on your game...

Man she was a fucking weirdo, she was constantly asking niko about crime and crooks and stuff, that made it so obvious that she was a goddamn cop.
She was weird because she didn’t tell anything about herself. She pretended to be that boring mid west girl that has no friends in NYC/LC. Remember the first bowling mission where the price tags were still on the furniture in her apartment. Little Details that gave it away. She also seemed to be too good to be true because she was immediately interested in Nico who just came “fresh off the boat”. She did never complain and was too loyal and there is no back story.
I wasn’t really surprised when she turned out to be a IAA/CIA agent.

Every recurring character’s personality has changed drastically from IV to V. Johnny went from badass “drugs are bad mmmk” to a pussy meth addicted, Michelle went from “you killed people” to “oh that bank, that was you”, Packie robbing shit after losing his brother during a robbery, etc.
Was that made on purpose, so they match more the Los Santos atmosphere? Or poor writing? I really don’t get it.
I'd say the former. I feel like they tried a little too hard to distance themselves from the tone of IV. Similar situation to the Watch Dogs games lol
