To me this was all about money. After a while the love had gone and Pique felt that he deserved a fee, like when you divorce. Had they been married he would he gotten a looooot of money. I mean, he is wealthy BUT not at the level Shakira is.
In fact the moment he realized he was not gonna get a settlement, what did Pique do ? When to the tax man to say that Shakira was not paying taxes or some such BS.
I mean how are YOU GONNA do THIS to the mother of your kids.....
Plus I think Shakira started to feel unsafe around Puque and his mom, videos surfaced where the mother of Pique, grabs Shakira litterally by the face/ throat and shouts something at her, still keeping her hand on Shakira's face.... I literally felt sick to my stomach when I saw that, the video is actually from 4 or 5 years ago, so the singer must have been abused inside Pique's family.... think about it, if even a superstar like Shakira has to deal with that.... boy we still have a lot to work on when it comes to dometic violence.

With the disintegration of a marriage or a long-term couple one should be very careful not to pick up sides or shift the blame as it is impossible to know the full extent of what really happened behind closed doors. It hurts when a marriage falls apart and it is normal although a sign of immaturity to react emotionally and precisely for that one shouldn't take those outbursts as gospel and take sides again.
For the moment we have only Shakira's side of the story and frankly speaking, not wanting to be mean, but she sounds bitter, incredibly immature and vindictive which at her age she should not be as those are qualities more typical for teenagers.
To sum up, we don't know what their relationship really was. They are media personalities and we know about their lives only what they allow us to know. Who's to blame? As in any relationship - BOTH are!
