Passengers on T-W-A's first Flight 800 from New York to Paris since the mid-air disaster two days ago have arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport.
They arrived without incident, but some admitted to a degree of nervousness.
And T-W-A officials have done their utmost to reassure people that everything possible was being done to discover the cause of the crash, while emphasising the safety of their airline.
Nervous passengers breathed a collective sigh of relief as their T-W-A Flight 800 from New York touched down safely in Paris.
The plane, which left John F Kennedy airport on Thursday night arrived without a hitch apart from landing three hours later than scheduled.
In the aftermath of the T-W-A flight 800 which exploded and crashed off the coast of Long Island, passengers were understandably nervous.
But as they departed the airport some said the captain made the effort to speak to the passengers during the flight and appease any nerves.
    SOUNDBITE: (English)
"Everybody was very, I think, conscious of the fear that passengers had. The pilot came back and talked to us, he was just available in the cabin which made everybody feel very comfortable and they took a lot of precautions."

It is still not clear if the explosion on Wednesday night was due to a terrorist attack or mechanical malfunction.
But airline companies including T-W-A, are acknowledging that they are tightening security measures at airports in order to make passengers feel safer.
    SOUNDBITE: (English)
"I would suspect we would reshuffle our assignments that we have more than enough people to do the screening. If anything this is what would have been done."

Some of the families in France who lost people on the ill-fated T-W-A 800 have already flown to America in order to help with the identification of the bodies.
    SOUNDBITE: (English)
"Sixteen groups of families had expressed a desire to fly, not necessarily all today. Some have flown on 803 today, I cannot confirm but I believe 12 family members left today."

T-W-A passengers leaving for New York this morning were happy to see that security measures were taken.
    SOUNDBITE:
"I mean it makes me feel a little better that they double and triple check, and everything but it is part of the deal I guess. You've just got to go with it."
SUPERCAPTION: Marty Belon, American tourist from Boston
SOUNDBITE : "I would hate them not to check. I think it is very important that they do check, and let's hope that they take care of terrorism in this world".

Concern still hangs in the minds of many other passengers while experts in America try to determine why the 230 people on Wednesday's flight 800 died.

The “800” flight number should have been immediately retired after the disaster. How the fuck could you fly people out with that same flight number?
