I'm not too concerned with water, the space around the cap is so small that it might hold a few drops, I suppose I could drill a couple drain holes. Thanks for watching!
Nice, thank for the info. Going with 17” American Thrust and good meaty tires. I got my nickname at 13yrs old for skateboarding with Tony Hawk and he gave me his skateboard and I looked like him back then…lol. Really love the work your doing with the Elko. I am not at that level with the smugglers trunk and door handles. But think I may try the rails and drip rails after watching your videos 😁. How many years do you have in metal working?
I started metal working when I started this project. I only learned to weld a couple of years ago so just making it up as I go along. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
Hello Gary, I noticed the "Hawk" on the back of your shirts, what is that too? I bought my first car/truck again recently (1968 El Kewmino SS396) the same one when I was 16. I'm 49 now. I'm replacing the floor pans after I watched a few videos of yours. I was wondering if you tried the Camaro wheels on the Elko? I was thinking about getting these you have to put on mine, because I had 1985 IROC wheels on mine when I was 16, I wanted to keep the theme of when I was a kid but updated. Let me know and does it look ok and fit?
Hawk is a lifelong knickname, having Hawkins as a last name pretty much demands it. Lol. The Camaro wheels have a different center bore and lug pattern so they don’t bolt on. I think the fronts would be way too big anyway as they are 20x10.
Great work! Missed the dad jokes😂
Thanks so much for watching!

Nice work - it looks clean. I was curious if you were concerned about water drainage?

I also was thinking, did you put drain holes by the fuel cap since water can collect there and when you open the cap it would just go in the tank?
I did knock a couple of small holes around the mounting flange for drainage. Thanks for watching!
