Some advice from an electrician. First, always take a picture of the wiring harness. Don't rely on memory. Second, use electrical tape to attached a single wire about 2 ft long to the wires of the old gauge. This is so when you pull the wires out you can use the two foot piece of wire to bring a new wires back in. it probably took them quite a while to fish those wires back through that little tiny hole on the bottom. Next lightly Lube the electrical pins and bare wires with silicone dielectric grease. You can get it at most auto supply stores. Last wrap the entire wire harness with nylon High-Temp Split Loom. Auto supply stores will have this also.

Hey, I know im 4 years late. But I did have this exact set on my 2008 Street bob for 3 years and they worked amazing. The fuel gauge was accurate and reliable, which was proven with long trips. It was even responsive when the bike leaned far enough. 10/10 I've put this on every bike I've owned since.

Great video! I was never able to get the wires out of the connector but knowing I wasn't going to be using the stock fuel gauge again I simply cut it off.

I have these on my Fab Boy S, and let me tell you, it improved the look of the bike 200%. Also, only really works if you have a black bike.

@@rmhkvf hey I just saw this. Mine were installed by the dealership before I picked up the bike (2017 FatBoy S). I am now looking for the same kit for my 2007 Softail Custom, and The only one that Harley shows is for Dyna only. But I am starting to think it is the same kit. They just have it listed as Dyna fitment, I am going to ask the guys at the shop tomorrow and see if it fits. Its expensive (from harley) but I haven't found an after market one. I just hate the stock gas cap and fuel gauge on that tank. Hate the console too, wish I could find a custom one that doesn't look so 1984. I don't like chrome on top of the tank, the sun glare annoys the hell out of me, I like to keep my chrome below the tank only. same for handlebars, I like them black.

Just did the HD speedo/tach 74776-11c and this mod to my 17 Slim S. (Black) Looks FUCKING amazing. Used this video for the gas gauge install. Great help. Thank you. I was going to leave it unplugged and safe it off but decided what the hell. Most bikes don't come with 1 gas gauge much less 2. LOLOL Thanks again.
I've been wanting these for my Fat Bob, but in chrome. Never thought about looking on here until somebody mentioned on HDF. Yours was the first video I came across. Nice video. Clean install. Looks I'll be ordering these soon and doing it. I figured you had to drain the tank to install them, but, I'm guessing by your three gas lights on the gauge, that would be incorrect. Good to know! Haha. How is the accuracy of the gauge so far? Fairly close for the most part?

Not sure to be honest. Not sure who to refer you to if even your HD dealer doesn't know. Maybe try calling another dealer?
