You do great work are you a paint and body and fabricator or just do this on your spare time
No fabrication experience here. Took an auto body class for a semester in high school four decades ago though. Lol. I’m in sales for my day job, this is hobby stuff for me. Thanks for watching!
thanks for posting
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
These videos are coming in rather handy. I'm using parts from a '96 Camaro donor for my '77 Elco.
Glad to hear it. Good luck with your project. Thanks for watching!
I have a 71 elco your giving me some ideas 😊
Hope they are good ideas…some of mine are questionable. Thanks for watching!
Have you mentioned what color you're going to paint the body yet?
Haven’t decided just yet but most likely some out of pearl blue. Thanks for watching!
@@letsgetdirtygarage6197 Whatever color you go with, I think it would look good if you got the tan color on the interior painted the same color as the body.
Some things just aren't worth the effort! No power seats for me.
I hear ya. At least I already had the seats so they didn’t cost me anything more to use. Thanks for watching!
Nice work !!!! I did that once in an S 10 and it was alot of work !!! How long did that project take in real time?
At my slow pace, probably took about 4-5 days of work. Thanks for watching!
Yep... not a 'bolt in ' as it was but you made it a 'bolt in ' ... nice work....looked like fun !
Thanks so much for the support. It’s always fun for me to take on something that shouldn’t really work and figure it out. Thanks for watching!
Did the bottom tilt down in the front? So your legs don't go to sleep?
The bottom does adjust independently front and rear. Thanks for watching!
Those other wires should be: air bags, weight sensor, heat pads, etc
I was just hoping not to blow out the airbag when hooking it up. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Great work.I had a Camino like yours wish I had it back.
There are so many cars I wish I still had as well. The clarity of hindsight is crazy. Thanks for watching!
Welcome back Sir!!
I like what you are doing to the Elco. Can you tell me what headers you are using
They were A body swap headers from Speed Engineering. Worked great. Thanks for watching!
Alright, send me your address so I can bring my 72 El Camino to you so we can do some work to it 😁I love what you're doing.
Lol. I wish I had the time to do it more! Thanks for watching my friend and good luck with yours!
i'll be doing quite a bit of this for the first time on my '72 el camino classic. picked it up about a week ago, completely original never been touched factory 307/TH350. and in amazing shape other than the rust. been off the road since 1986. have frame and floor issues too that i'll be tackling. i have a 68 body on a rolling frame thats from TN (i'm in upstate NY) so i'll have that as a backup plan.
Sounds like a great starting point my friend. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!!
Great work, I am doing the same thing. Do you have a parts list?
The housing, water pump, damper and bolt kit I bought right from Holley. The alternator is a standard DR44 available just about everywhere. The compressor is a Sanden SD7 and the PS pump and pulley were generic type 2 versions from Amazon. If you go to the Holley website, they will have a PDF of the kit contents that you can cross reference part numbers. Thanks for watching!
OPG has every replacement part for you el co
I have ordered from them in the past. Thanks for watching!
Hey brother keep posting your videos friends of mine and I have seen these videos and has helped them out a lot we need more videos like this thank you
Thank you my friend. I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching!
looks nice! Very creative with problem solving!
Thanks so much for the support! Your projects are looking good as well my friend. Thanks for watching!
Hi I have a 69 here in U.K. and followed your video to the letter ( after watching it multiple times). Everything worked out fine so now am cleaning and lubricating parts before installing new rubbers. Many thanks very useful. Neale
Great to hear my friend! Good luck with your ride and thanks for watching!!
Beautiful work! Love the use what you got, overcome obstacles as they come up, make it work mentality. Ingenuity in spades!
Thank you so much! Always better to figure out a way. Thanks for watching!
Another bad dad joke about the gray hair...I don't care if it turns gray as long as it don't turn loose! (sorry)
Never be sorry for a bad dad joke my friend! Lol. That’s our job. Thanks so much for watching!
Gary, your ingenuity, craftsmanship, and tenacity are awesome! I am dazzled by what you've created here. On my Elco, I'm just going with a dash out of a mid-70s Monte Carlo, which is much simpler. But then, I couldn't afford a donor vehicle; I could barely afford the rolling chassis!
Thanks Paul. I hope to see some pics of yours as it progresses. Thanks for watching!
All through this build you remind me of Bob Ross.
I Hope that's a good thing...lol. Thanks for watching!
Very good detailed job. Thanks once again for your videos. Keep going. 👍👍👏👏
Thanks so much, so much more to do. Thanks for watching!
Pretty Nice... All Wrapped Up !
LOL..wrapped and ready. Thanks for watching!
Great job
Thank you my friend! Keep watching for more.
Incredible job sir - keep em coming please!
Thanks so much. I'll keep them coming as long as you keep watching!
@@letsgetdirtygarage6197 Aha Deal!

Where to? lol. Thanks for watching!
@@letsgetdirtygarage6197 let's go all the way!!!! Awesome job you doing there! 👏
She looks good keep the video coming
Will do my friend. Thanks so much for watching!
Awesome job, twice now I've been unsubscribed some how without me doing it. I really enjoy your channel
Sorry to hear about your sub troubles and thanks so much for sticking with it! Thanks for watching!
I am doing the same thing!! 69 Elcam 5.3 from 2013 silverado, 6l80. I had to cut my tunnel out as well. I cheated and purchased a pre formed piece of sheet metal and welded it in. I also used the original cross member on tranny and it fits beautiful. I used the ICT billet motor mounts. how did you use the original motor mounts? I will try to upload some pics, I am almost ready to start engine. I have stand alone wire harness with pcm under dash on passenger side as well as AAW full interior harness and electronic tap shifter..that was fun installing. Ive never done this before.. great learning. I like your video it makes me feel good ,I think i am doing mine correct.
Sounds like you are really making great progress! I used UMI motor mounts, not the stock ones. Keep up the good work and thanks for watching!
Awesome videos! I bought a 68 elco a couple months ago and I’ve been watching all your videos as I go along working on mine, next up is the rear window opening!
That’s awesome. Good luck with your project and stay tuned for more. Thanks for watching!
Gute Arbeit,Meister des alten abschreckens!
Danke! Thanks for watching!
Yep... it's gitten there... the little details may take time but worth it in the long run. Nice job !
The details always matter in the end for sure. Thanks for watching!!
1970 is my favorite year for the elcamino.gonna be really nice when finished.
Thank you my friend. Stay tuned, lots more to do.
Have you ever thought about making a fiberglass mold of the Camaro door panels and dash and then cutting and movint things around? Seems like to me that would be easier than messing with plastic.
I thought about it but realized since I have to smooth and wrap it anyway, getting to avoid making all the attachment points was gonna save a bunch of time.
Good job!
Thank you my friend.
One of the best if not video of a dash swap so far. Should be a great addition and your doing good work thumbs up.
Thanks for the kind words. Lots more to make it right so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!!
I would like go do that to the bed to delete trim
Go for it! Thanks for watching!!
A Dash of this and a Dash of that.... !... The Chevy Chef ! Keep up the good work ...!...

Nice start on an El Camarino! Definitely giving me all kinds of ideas for my '68. Thanks for the video!
Thanks so much. Inspiration comes from all over, glad I can help. Thanks for watching!!
Very nice work! You are going to have one unique El Camino, I look forward to every update. Thanks for doing this sir.
Thanks my friend. So much more to do. Lol. Thanks for watching!!
I wish they made a newer version of the trans am so I could do a newer interior swap on my 86 trans am. You're doing a great job so far sir.. much respect... great channel, great video too🎉🎉😊
Thanks my friend. That would be a great swap as well. Thanks for watching!
Wow I think it is cool!
