While the new ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-I Gaming Wifi Motherboard isn't their most bleeding edge or extreme Motherboard, it is the only X670E Mini ITX board on the Market. So how well does it perform?

I currently have this motherboard 🥰👍. I’ve been an ITX builder since Intel 4th gen and this board packs in a lot of features! I current have a slightly undervolted 7950x3D (-50mv) on this motherboard and memory tweaked to 6200mts CL30 w/ 2100mhz on infinity fab and this motherboard is stable, even doing multiple DaVinci Resolve loads. The ‘HIVE’ is a great device allowing on desk audio connectivity (love my audio headphones 🎧) and this device can handle my 250ohm headphones ok (my Sound Blaster X6 external DAC is still better thou🤤😉). I’ve timed my boot times and been around the 30seconds mark. But my bios is on the latest as of 3 weeks ago). While vrm temps etc are good, some people shy away from ITX seeing around 60c instead of sub-50c on many ATX motherboards which is a shame and causes no instability or performance issues due to any sort throttling etc. Having USB4 is a more future proof (yes laugh 😅😂🤣) as this setup will keep me going for a few years in the future without need for upgrading the mobo have Gen 5 pci-e for next Gen gpus to come and NVME 5 support ready to go. I got mine here in Australia 🇦🇺 at roughly $400USD plus taxes as an ex-display model (which I’m fine about) and haven’t regretted it at all! It’s a great AM5 mobo for me and my needs / wants 🥳💪

Hi! May I ask, since I also have the 7950x3d chip, that have you ran into any instability issues / crashes when the bios is set to default values? I was not able to get this configuration working when bios values were default, and only when I turned off CPU Performance Boost (which seems to lock the processor to its base clocks) was I able to boot the system. Some of the BSOD messages I got were:
      memory management
      page_fault in nonpaged area
      pfn list corrupt
      critical process died

As you said yourself, provided the motherboard works, performance will be within 1% of similar boards, so testing that does not bring a lot of new information. What would have been interesting :
    - USB 4 compatibility,
    - noise of the fans,
    - cpu cooler compatibility.
The 2 USB4 ports are one of the main new features that differentiates this board from cheaper ITX X670E boards, and the main reason I would get this board. It would have been interesting to check which Thunderbolt accessories work with it (eGPUs, external drives...) and how well.
Noise of the fans : a couple years ago people were complaining that some AMD boards required one chipset fan, now this board has 2 fans. I would be curious to know how loud these small fans are at full load. Some people go to great lengths to make their computer as quiet as possible.
CPU cooler compatibility: most people who accept the limitations of an ITX board will do so to be able to fit it in a small form factor case. There is a question, with these ever higher "walls" on the sides of the board, which CPU coolers and which cases will be compatible.
Thanks for the review still, the power consumption and operating costs figure was interesting.

I don't like the external soundcard, I prefer the B650E-i. Nice that it has USB4.0 A comparison of the two boards would be nice, I have read that the B650E-i has a much faster boot time.

@swizzler8053 I do not have a problem with board fan noise.
There is sound, true, but it's not louder than my Lian Li case fans @35%.

This a review? where is the ram oc testing? where is the talk about the bugs/issues be it in the bios or other wise that u encountered? Seems like as always a paper thin review. Everybody knows that when you tinker with a board you always discovers some strange behaviours here and there. Not impressed, just more of run of the mill youtube pr as from all the other techtubers/techchannels.

    • @RetroTeddyBear
      @RetroTeddyBear Před 10 měsíci +1

He clearly states what parts of the board he is reviewing. Of course you won't be impressed if you were expecting him to do something other than what he said he was doing.
