- Two couples get together to make wonderful music they've written to Irish and Scots Gaelic poetry, taken from their recent album 'Allt',. This is a collage of performances screened on 'Seirm', a BBC Alba programme featuring acts from 'Celtic Connections', in Glasgow, Jan 2020.
Apologies for the slight delay between sound and vision - it really is a live performance ! - Hudba
I've listened to the entire album on Amazon so many ,many times and never tire of it. Even on a stormy Scottish winter night where I live on the north west coast it makes the wind whisper not roar
Gaelic culture is a miracle
Julie Fowlis obviously is an amazing vocalist but what John and Zoe bring to the table is amazing, such a powerful blend.
Beautiful! It makes my Heart shine with Happy Tears and Love that’s thousands of years old! The Ancestors still Sing! Heartfelt Thank You and Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Alba & Eire together, like a spree of raw ocean, like the best blend of whiskies/whiskeys... wow these girls are so talented! greetings from far away Patagonia
One of best music I ever heard... Julie seems like a queen of Kingdom of Beauty and Power of Music. The Queen that understand how importent is what they're doing, and how dangerous is to miss the perfect harmony, if they want to save the soul of the world... And smile on the end is smile of God... Listen this music is shelter and gift... Spirit of Celtic Music is immortal...
I am form Poland, but those songs are absolutely beautiful. I started listening to Celtic Music from Celtic/Folk Metal. Now I am looking for more of traditional celtic music, and Julie Fowlis is more than I wanted. Her voice is amazing, and tune wakes something in my soul. Wonderful songs.
Tha mi cuideachd a ’sgrìobhadh às a’ Phòlainn. Bòidhchead: chan eil ann ach aon fhacal. Agus an seo bheireadh e 1000 facal! Chan eil fios agam a bheil ceòl Albannach / Gàidhlig air duine a dhèanamh cho breagha ’s a thug e dhomh. Chan eil mi ag èisteachd ris a ’cheòl aca air fad. Tha J. Fowlis agus a charaidean rium mar seann bhàird ann an seann chùirtean Morairean nan Eilean. Tapadh leat!!! 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱

Welcome to the wonderful world of Celtic music, so rich, so varied. You have a lifetime of interest ahead of you.
Try having a wee listen to PROJECT SMOK....TALISK...RURA....KINNARIS QUINTET....ROSS AINSLIE....THE PAUL McKENNA BAND......BREABACH....MANRAN...ELEPHANT SESSIONS....AINSLIE HAMILL.....DUNCAN CHISHOLM...they are all available on here at CZcams and any of these artists and musicians will lead you on to so many more.
@@sinuhe0171очень-очень их люблю, для меня эти песни как мантры, только гораздо лучше, потому что ни к чему не обязывают❤слушаю и плачу. Искренность, глубина, любовь. Восхищение, вдохновение✨
Half my family tree is from Scotland, Ireland and Wales, none from England. Celtic music touches my emotions. I just wish I could get it on my car radio. I appreciate people like Mrs Fowlis, etc, who haven't sold out.
KANW in NM plays Celtic music.
@@johnanthonygonzales8714 What time? day etc.
Try FUV on Sunday mornings (from NYC, Fordham University radio channel… very popular and during the week plays many many types of music).
9:20....great song. Just keep repeating it.
None of us can know what Heaven is like but I'll settle for this.
I’ve been soaking up more and more of Julie Fowlis’s music ,but this girl from North Uist takes us to a place so beautiful.
Gaelic just hits so differently!!!
Just discovered Zoey Conway, not just a great violinist but singer as well
Gallic has over 3O words for rain. I fell in love with a girl from the highlands when I was 19. The Romans may have thought they wiped out the Druids on Mona. Many of us escaped to what is now Scotland.
its Gadhlig ..pronounced ''gallik'' but its Gaelic in english ...not gallic .
What a beautiful woman!
It would be unfair of me to single out any one singer/musician as Julie, Zoe, Eamon, and John are all very talented and beautiful performers.
Piuthrag Nam Piuth'r is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
There are no words for how much I love this. Julie's singing and whistle playing, the harmony with Zoe, the other instrumentalists, the obvious joy they're all feeling making music together. Wonderful.
On so many levels, this is extraordinary.
Why you say that
@@jonathanpool1556 You english will never understand us( THANK FUCK). SAOR ALBA GU BRATH
You said it! go raibh maith agat
agus soar Alba go brath
Does it really need to be spelt out? The musicianship, the talent, the voice tone and clarity, the professionalism, the ambiance, the sentiment, the blending of traditions in terms of Irish & Scottish, the blending of traditional music with modern interpretation, the uniqueness of the sound.....make it extraordinary...on so many levels.
That whistle/violin section is so joyful! Incredible
There should be a red flag at the start of this video warning people they're running the risk of getting a severe lump in their throats if they continue watching + listening to this performance. Wondrous singing + playing. Well done all 4.
I had ALWAYS shivers when I heard this beautiful ladies!
Its true. Im crying
Fantastic. one of the most entrancing performances I have ever seen. Julie Fowlis has a voice that pierces your heart. The compositions and the interaction between the musicians are pure gold.
Amazing languages with amazing music and voices!
Sublime. What a talent to create something so incredibly beautiful. Their voices and their playing just fit so perfectly together. Wish the whole album had been recorded.
Glad you liked it - you can listen to / purchase the whole album here

Everything this lady with husband and friends put together is fantastic. I always look forward to more. Can't wait til concert Halls open up safely again. Enjoyed their performance in Santa Fe NM USA. Thank you for keeping your native speech and Music Alive. Heavenly.....
Nice but you're plagiarizing my post which admittedly I haven't yet written! Just kidding - yes, lovely! Would love to experience a full session live.
@@mjw12345 Saw them in Santa Fe NM in 2018. I'm looking forward to the day when all gets better and hopefully they return with another concert.Extemely fantastically talented.🎶👍👏
Hello from Nebraska! Such incredible music.
What a wonderful gift to share with the world, but the most important thing is to give back to this beautiful culture. This language was just made for music and poetry. This man certainly had a tear in his eye listening to this. it hits you right in the heart.
Beautifully said.
I concur, a lump in my throat especially when I have a wee dram and feel at peace listening to the gifts given to my ears ;mind and heart by my fellow Celts
Oh my gosh!! Such WONDERFUL music!!!
Watching from Australian very special and unique sound
Thank you so much for sharing your blessed and poetic gifts with this world. I have been a fan for several years and while listening still find myself wiping my tears in happiness, feeling as if I am home.
You’re not alone in wiping away tears of happiness. This is music to help heal the world 🙏
Music from heaven came down to Earth. Fabulous and magical!❤
Just past the 11:00 mark, Zoe reached for a high note while harmonizing so seamlessly with Julie. I love the music you make together. Thank you once again to you all 😊
I can't stop listening to this. Beautiful.
Im too
I love the Celtic languages, they are so unique in the way they sound. Very happy to see that not only do people still sing in the language, but speak and communicate in it as well.
I just love that even the interviews are in Gallic!
They are actually As Gaeilge.
My God this is beautiful!Just found Julie Fowles and I'm such a fan!The most heartfelt music I've ever heard! So makes me want to learn Scots Gaelic! The songs of my ancestors! From Canada!

The song at about 10min is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard!!!
The spirit is dancing!
C'est tellement beau. Merci Julie du fond de mon cœur
Adding Zoe's fiddle and harmonies to the fantastic combo of Julie and Éamon just adds a special something to the already outstanding and heart-wrenching beauty of the Gàidhlig poems . . which I'm sad to say I don't understand . . but as Julie once said . . music is a universal language . .this reduced me to real tears and totally blew me away!
So gorgeous music ever By Zoe and Julie and Eamon and John all so great musicians thank you beautiful ever
Before the show they look out at the audience and say, "See that guy in the fourth row? I'm going to make him cry." And then they do!
It's heartbreakingly beautiful...
Just love this so beautiful all of you hats off. When Julie sings the world stops to listen. Never stop, much love to you all. Xx
Music that soothes the soul... Cho brèagha...Tapadh leibh airson a ' cheòl àlainn. Beannachdan à Canada.

God bless the tradicional culture, music and poetry. This songs are so great. Really inspire me and warms my heart. Heal me in so many ways. 🙏🏻❣️🇮🇪
The second song is just fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Julie having her head gently shake with the rythm of the music and having her eyes closed is putting her beauty at the best. That is the good old Julie we all love
This is infinitely better than the last videos I was watching. (Old timey American western music)
These songs go so deep in my soul that I feel mesmerized. Every single aspect of this video is perfect. They can be mind-blowing and cozy at the same time! Go raibh maith agat for that 💚 best wishes from Brazil
Ha Ha, I'm so immersed in the music and lyrics, that I do not skip the talking anymore
This is so beautiful! Thank you for recording it so we could share in its magic.
Fantastic set.
Love this 💚☘
I love this - thank you! I am trying to learn the language of my ancestors! Thank you for this beautiful preservation!
Well, I held it together until Zoe joined Julie on PIUTHRAG NAM PIUTH’R, then the tears started to flow. Something about the sweetness of their combined voices and the beauty of the music calls up an emotion in me that I can hardly explain. I can’t help but love Celtic music and its effect on me. Thanks so much for sharing this amazing video…
I love this with all my heart. This is a truly magical moment from Julie, Zoe, Eamon and John. @Johnatan Wampirobojca said this waked up something in his soul and I can't find more adequate words to describe this.
Admirable ! Bravo from France

Absolutely phenomenal. Music for the soul. Its like they were made to perform together. Please create a band together and work on many albums.
Thanks for posting this. I got to see Julie And Eamon live back in October and it was mind blowing! Cheers from across the Atlantic :)
Lovely Folksongs
Americun here, didn't understand a word but it brought tears to my eyes. I love how smug and happy they all look! They know they kick ass, beautiful. I love it.
They don't look smug at all. Smug is not a nice descriptor. I'm American too. Let's say they have poise.
Absolutely fantastic stunning so unique very gifted talented musicians massive fan of Julie's work ♡♡♡
This is real music :) I worked few months in Ireland. Unfortunately didn't have time to visit what I wanted. I want also to visit Scotland :) Greetings from France !
