Those mosaic tiles for the kitchen are beautiful, I was thinking it’s such a shame have to put grout in/on them but then when you started grouting…wow 😮they stood out even more! Love them. You two are my heroes, I love your enthusiasm, your work ethic and your style!

Haha if that meat is tough just cook it longer. You don't need to wait on your dad to get you a knife sharpner, just use one of those riverstones you have on your property! You really can sharpen a knife anywhere with a little water and a stone or even concrete. Take that from a Texas girl. You do need a new fillet knife that will skin a deer or sheep!
We could do this however that post meets the beam which runs along the ceiling, so might be better to leave as wood, but we did consider it, thank you 🙂
Use them as a threshold floor divider between the kitchen and the dining/living. It will tie it all together. It might be too late I did it from the living room to the kitchen and back kitchen but regret not doing into the downstairs toilet where all the downstairs flow went. Other options are window sills or else plant holders/plates on the island or kitchen table......
Lovely job Claire with the bedroom and no you can’t beat a good batch of Irish stew with lots of veggies and freshly made homemade bread and gravy. We eat a lot of that over here especially in winter. Keep up wonderful job your both awesome ☘️☘️☘️

We managed to buy huge Porcelain tiles for our worktops for Just £18.00 the job lot! Me being a baker they are ideal! Love them! When I say huge these tiles covered most of our worktops in one piece. Result! I admire your dedication to do it all yourself, we did but like you, we never did the electrics on each house we did.
We are the electricians apprentices! He is teaching us as we go, but pretty much letting us do most ourselves. I now know why I would never want to be an electrician 🤣

How I love to hear all your expressions. Even though I’ve lived in the States for 30 years it is so natural to my ear to hear you both chatting away. I was born in Cork, Rosebank many many years ago and when Dad’s job with the ESB took him to Dublin we moved up there when I was 5. Hoping to be home this year for a visit. Mum used to make her Irish Stew with either gigot chops or neck of lamb chops, whichever was at the butchers that day. Thanks for your brilliant videos. I love them and you’re doing an amazing job.

Ah gigot chops yes. Layers of potato then chops then veg and repeat. Cooked in oven in glass casserole dish with water or stock. That was our authentic Irish stew. This one to me would be a lamb casserole but equally lovely and looks delicious. Well done chef and also the tiling. Excess grout should be wiped off straight away, so no difficult scraping off after it has dried. Brilliant work on the bedroom too. So fresh and comfy looking!
I made some Irish Stew last winter and used all the same ingredients you did, but I did add some turnips to it. It turned out so good and not a single bite was wasted and gone down disposal! My maiden name is Barry and have had the Barry tea bags in our cupboards. I love love LOVE the mosaic tiles you’ve been putting up in the kitchen! Can’t wait to see everything all put together in the kitchen! Clair, you remind me of myself twenty years ago. I was never afraid to tackle the painting, etc. I’m almost 69 and have had to have both of my knees replaced five years ago. Since then I’ve HAD to slow down. We’re right at the beginning of our journey (still waiting for the first inspection) and watching your progress has been an inspiration. I'm not in the habit of re-commenting (I feel like that one from Killinascully) but I heard a great one recently and tried it, as long as you clean as much after the grout process and come back the next day, to tackle that haze look window cleaner is the best thing, to get rid of itt. Clever isn't it. .
My lot love dumplings, not the suet sort! I make mine with a little Olive oil and grated Cheese. They are light and fluffy. If it looks like a stew, I have to add Dumplings.

Your bedroom looks lovely, l hope the first sleep in a free standing bed lived up to your expectations., a year in a caravan is a long time. The kitchen tiles are very pretty, they add a nice touch of colour and there are so many colours in them you’ll have fun adding soft furnishings by picking out colours from them. The stew looks delicious. Claire, you are lucky to have a man around who is interested in cooking….and apparently quite good at it as well. Well done both of you.
Cynthia, I am very lucky my to have a wanna be chef husband, even if he almost kills himself in the process 😂 Yes very much looking forward to furnishing the rest of the room, the bed is ridiculously comfortable, even though it has been fixed up to work. Claire - you are some woman for some woman! Great results you two on the bedroom & kitchen. For non hiberno-english speakers, "to - insert verb - the bejaysus out of something" , you can replace "bejaysus" with "living daylights" as in "Rooney is scaring the bejaysus out of that fox" or "Rooney is scaring the living daylights out of that fox". Not sure if Scotland/Canada/Australia/US have equivalents 🤔
Rob are you leaving the grout on too long? We’ve always washed it off in 10 minutes. It takes a few passes to get it all off but it isn’t difficult to remove. I noticed the shower still had grout and just felt you didn’t need me to tell you it will be hard to remove. I love the tile. How are you finishing the corners & edges? Great job ✌️💚
Don't mention the grout left on the fecking bathroom wall, I have just about got it all off! Time wasting mistake🙄 I am using edge tape for corners and edges, but on the windows and door frames we are using larch.
Anytime I have packed up furniture all bolts and screws for that piece were put in sturdy ziplock bags and duct takes to the piece of furniture. After the first Ive I no longer lost furniture fasteners….that first time wasn’t any fun at all! 😂
So glad to see how you are moving along to your goal now! What a road it’s been through the winter weather and so much rain and cold. Rob your passion to cook and enjoy doing it is lovely to see. I also recommend you making Irish stew, and your way of doing it is just like the way it’s been passed down in my English/ Irish family over the generations. We use carrots, and leeks leeks fresh if in season. That was a lucky one that the filet knife didn’t get in your eyes, phew! So glad Claire got her bed in the house, It was just lovely to watch her go on her mission during this video pushing forward. We used to have the same recipe (mutton) including turnips (swedes in England!) Irish Stew growing up in Northern (the North of) Ireland . Some lentils were added near the end together with chopped scallions (spring onions in England) to the mash. My foster mum was a brilliant Irish cook who, whilst a war time sergeant cook in the ATS at Camberley, always by popular demand, fed this to the officers including one Princess Elizabeth. Truly a super food.

We do when we can, wasnt possible with this particular ikea bed tho... we ty wrapped all fittings to the bed but it musta broken off in the move :(

Sleep has been transformed, no spiders thankfully😉 I think I may have whitewashed them out of it! Very lucky to have a chef husband, as long as he doesn't injure himself in the process🤣

Your bedroom looks lovely, l hope the first sleep in a free standing bed lived up to your expectations., a year in a caravan is a long time. The kitchen tiles are very pretty, they add a nice touch of colour and there are so many colours in them you’ll have fun adding soft furnishings by picking out colours from them. The stew looks delicious. Claire, you are lucky to have a man around who is interested in cooking….and apparently quite good at it as well. Well done both of you.
Cynthia, I am very lucky my to have a wanna be chef husband, even if he almost kills himself in the process 😂 Yes very much looking forward to furnishing the rest of the room, the bed is ridiculously comfortable, even though it has been fixed up to work. We would like to have a go at building our own bed for the room eventually 🙂

Claire - you are some woman for some woman! Great results you two on the bedroom & kitchen. For non hiberno-english speakers, "to - insert verb - the bejaysus out of something" , you can replace "bejaysus" with "living daylights" as in "Rooney is scaring the bejaysus out of that fox" or "Rooney is scaring the living daylights out of that fox". Not sure if Scotland/Canada/Australia/US have equivalents 🤔

Rob are you leaving the grout on too long? We’ve always washed it off in 10 minutes. It takes a few passes to get it all off but it isn’t difficult to remove. I noticed the shower still had grout and just felt you didn’t need me to tell you it will be hard to remove. I love the tile. How are you finishing the corners & edges? Great job ✌️💚
Don't mention the grout left on the fecking bathroom wall, I have just about got it all off! Time wasting mistake🙄 I am using edge tape for corners and edges, but on the windows and door frames we are using larch.
Anytime I have packed up furniture all bolts and screws for that piece were put in sturdy ziplock bags and duct takes to the piece of furniture. After the first Ive I no longer lost furniture fasteners….that first time wasn’t any fun at all! 😂
Thats exactly what we did... not idea if we lost it at last house, the storage or the barn... weird!

So glad to see how you are moving along to your goal now! What a road it’s been through the winter weather and so much rain and cold.
Rob your passion to cook and enjoy doing it is lovely to see. I also recommend you making Irish stew, and your way of doing it is just like the way it’s been passed down in my English/ Irish family over the generations. We use carrots, and leeks leeks fresh if in season. That was a lucky one that the filet knife didn’t get in your eyes, phew!
So glad Claire got her bed in the house, It was just lovely to watch her go on her mission during this video pushing forward. I bet it felt so good to sleep in the peace and quiet and have some space too. Happy for you both. All the best, see you next week if not before. We used to have the same recipe (mutton) including turnips (swedes in England!) Irish Stew growing up in Northern (the North of) Ireland . Some lentils were added near the end together with chopped scallions (spring onions in England) to the mash. My foster mum was a brilliant Irish cook who, whilst a war time sergeant cook in the ATS at Camberley, always by popular demand, fed this to the officers including one Princess Elizabeth. Truly a super food.
