    so its better using rectangle light for enclosed space rather than using spotlight with IES file?

    • @godfreygoodson6215
      @godfreygoodson6215 Před 12 dny +1

      Rectangle lights are a quick way to illuminate a scene like shown here. IES files are best used for detail lighting where the visible spread of light needs to be specific on walls or spaces and when specs are referenced to test lighting, this adds real-world specificity if the lighting design is on hand or client needs like lumens/sqft over desks, circulation etc. For quick visualization you can use rectangle lighting to emulate the lighting mood you wish to convey.

    Pro user here. Can u please hv a feature where i can convert a plane in 3dsmax into rectangular light? Its annoying to place rectangular light and scalling / resizing one by one inside the cove.

      @@paralyzer6834 by costumers buying their product. if its good, then there's no problem selling licences of new versions etc, not to be forced into it.

    This is just not an acceptable workflow for BIM lighting design. We need better control over the lighting type import and how D5 handles IES files

      Guess what, D5 can use IES so what's the problem ? Plus, you have plenty option (not shown in the video) to have a perfect control on artificial light. Such as temperature, angle , fall off and so on. I don't see what you complain about, that's just a quick tutorial, not a in depth one.

      Hello, to satisfy the request of BIM artists on the lighting control, our livesync plugin can import multiple types of light sources from BIM software into D5 and yes we also support IES lights, namely spotlight in D5 Render. We sincerely invite you to download D5 and livesync plugins for free to try our light system and send us your suggestions to support@d5techs.com. Thanks! www.d5render.com/download
