Here is our official first look at the incredible new Mercury V-12 Verado 600 at an exclusive event held at Lake X. Beyond the incredible power, this outboard performs smoothly and silently, even considering the large workload pushing some seriously massive boats around. It's just as quiet as their V8 300hp, which is incredible and significantly more quiet than any other competing outboard we've experienced.

@@kevintalbert2467 Seems to be the trend with outboards and a lot of things now. The next redesign Mercury does the cowls and midsection will just be boxes.

Quantum leap? Seriously? This motor weighs over 1300lbs and costs nearly as much as triple 400s!!!

@@michaelbrajkovich1999 no it isn't! It costs a lot more per HP and is heavier. If these huge outboards were the way to go, then 7 marine would have sold many more outboards, since obviously you think price means nothing.
@@charlieodom9107 - One of Yamaha’s biggest sellers is the 425 XTO - which weighs around 975 pounds wet.

Sadly the corporate weenies buy into it and pay those a-holes a lot of money. The level of disconnect between companies and customers is sometimes so vast I am surprised they stay in business.

Mercs always held my attention. Being an older man raised with Evinrude and Johnson, every time I saw the sleek Merc my heart said, "That's the boy."
I'm 50 and merc has come a long way. we always had johnson and envinrudes too cuz the mercs were awful back then lol

Wow Cool 600 HP !!! Lower unit Operates Like an Azipod and Duel Rotation props !! now we know why Volvo Marine canceled the 557's and 627's HP motors, those motors were $80-$90.000 each without installation, new innovations Mercury has come out with has raised the bar, Nice job !!!

A former Outboard marine mechanic here, well this is amazing. Yes we would like the numbers, weight, torque, WOT fuel consumption. I was an observer in a ski race boat here, a 17’ Tennessee with an Evinrude 235, back then the 235 was the king. Then in 1983 we saw (I still have pics) of then Belgium world water ski champion Danny Bertels brought his 22’ Lotto Scan Carrier with 2 Johnson 3:5 litre V8’s rated at 500hp flywheel each for 3 races. Such changes over a 30 years. Cheers from AU. 🇦🇺

when i left the marine business the Verado was the newest mercury on the market at i believe 250 and went to 300 hp soon. I found it hard to believe when i saw this beast, 600 hp and 12 cyl. I still love the older 200 black max motors. at 79, maybe i will be around to see a 700 hp version.

Like the video says the engine so quiet you can't even hear it, so what's the point . That's why they put the music that I hate also
I didn't think they were all that quiet. Although making the exhaust note sound like a loud symphony is clever. It's reminiscent of when Robert Duvall played the loud music from his helicopters in Apocalypse Now. It sounds like, Victory!

The steering is cool, but I like seeing the direction of the motor fishing the cbbt and fighting big fish, I feel better knowing what direction it’s facing from the wheel

7 marine has had a 627 hp engine out for quite a few years. While cool it's not breaking into a new realm.
