- Towards the end of the National Resistance Army (NRA) guerrilla war against the Uganda National Liberation Army in December 1985, the battle for the Masaka Barracks stood out.
After failing to penetrate the defences of the barracks, the NRA laid siege on it for three months, from September to December 1985.
Gillian Nantume recently sat down with a former UNLA commander Olanya Ojara who recalled that siege
