    GREAT video!! I'm so glad I watched this before tackling my door panel. Talking about pulling hard on the panel to remove it was perfect, as I probably would have spent an hour monkeying around trying to gently remove it. Also, having something there to catch the panel while you worked to remove all the plugs and cables was a super helpful hint! This saved me so much time and was the only video I needed to watch. Thanks for taking the time to post this!

    The plug for the window with the lousy clearance is actually easy to plug in if you take the control pad/box out. It removes easily with a panel tool from the top and then the plug goes through the hole, plugs into the box and snaps right back in to the hole.

    I had to pop the panel off as there was a loose piece in the window mechanics that was gouging into my tint when the window was rolled down. Ended up being one of the 2 nuts that hold the window track rail onto the door disappeared somehow 🤷🏽 saved me 175$ from the dealership!

      Work Play Drive I just finished putting in the Kenwood KFC-XP6903C Excelon set, included the 6x9 for doors and 3.5’s for the dash. Huge difference from the base stock speakers, very pleased. The dash is quite bright sounding now, so actually running the treble -1 on the EQ. Def Leppard sounds great!
      I also have the Excelon X174’s for the back deck but probably throw those in tomorrow.
      Had a few hiccups with the doors, but your video was definitely a big help. I pushed that one clip through into the door just like you did, it goes straight through a bit too easily! Dropped the lock shaft down in the door when I was screwing it back on... gave me practice to take the panel off again I suppose!

I was at a Honda dealer getting service for my crosstour (didn't love it enough to spend the time working in it LOL) They wanted to charge me $125 to replace the cabin air filter. I asked why so much for a filter I can get on Amazon for $15, "he said it was labor intensive"
      I instantly youtubed it an found I needed to open the glove box, release the catch and swap the filter. took less than a minute. I showed him the video and said "I'll pass and do it myself".

    Man that was a pretty informative video. I already wrapped my whole car but had to take a short cut and did the same thing you were about to do at the beginning of the video. I was able to remove the door panel but found it difficult to find the screws for the mirror. Did you have to role down the window to get to the mirror screws because I found it to be difficult as the window blocks your access to the mirror.

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 7 lety +1

      yup once the window is down the mirror screws are open, the arc of the windows clears the area with enough room for your hands and a ratchet. I know it's possible to do it without but I figured I would be less stressed with a door free of obstructions.

    I have a question?? I had my car worked on by a body shop and it seems like the door panel shakes when I close the door making a hollow sound. When the window is down I can see the inside door panel move does that mean it is not secured with the plastic fasteners??

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 6 lety

      it's possible, the only way to tell is to pop the door off. they may have missed a few or there is another issue. I pulled my door off a few times without damaging the clips

  • @kevinyoung8186
    @kevinyoung8186 Před 5 lety +1

    Do you have to disconnect the cables or can you just move the panel slightly back to get to the speaker? is there enough slack? I did that on another car and I was able to remove and install the speakers with no problem

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 5 lety

      not sure, I didn't even try. I figured I was this far why not give myself the room and get the panel out of the way.

    I’ve often heard that after removing and replacing the panel that it “never is quite the same” did you feel this way as well? Or could you even tell?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 6 lety +1

      That was one of my many concerns with this project, but after removing both door panels a few times I can say there are no issues with alignment, fitment and no rattles were introduced. I cannot tell in any way the panels have been removed.
      The clips are all over the place and there are a few alignment points that force the panel into the proper location before the clips engage.

    Is there a way to install the active exhaust from 2017 on a 2016 challenger RT?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 7 lety

      Not sure man, I would say it's possible, but they did make quite a few changes to control the exhaust on the 5.7 that would most likely NOT be present in the 2016 current programming. Are you looking for more sound or something specific with the active exhaust? There may be an easier way to achieve your goal

    • @2ambaby198
      @2ambaby198 Před 7 lety

      Work Play Drive yes I was looking at electronic cut outs earlier from This website called quick time performance I ultimately want a system that I can control with a remote

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 7 lety

      The QTP kit is a good option for controllable sound. Most people (like me) who have the active exhaust have found ways to get around it. The active exhaust actually cuts down the sound.
      I'll be installing the NoWeeds Diverters in my scat pack in a few weeks. These are a bit more costly, but it's a DIY kit with some serious piping, clamps and motors and involves no welding. It also allows you to revert back to the stock exhaust. Hopefully this solution will give me the sound I want and it's adjustable so at speed I can tune to back down the unwanted drone.

    • @2ambaby198
      @2ambaby198 Před 7 lety

      Work Play Drive any performance gains? and do you have a link to the build

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Před 7 lety

      It's on order and takes a few weeks for delivery noweeds.net/collections/dodge-challenger/products/noweeds-for-the-2015-dodge-challenger-hellcat.
      Not sure about the gains, Diverters cut the flow of the exhaust and route it all out a dump pipe after the cats, where cut outs are an exhaust "leak" that sends most of the flow out the cut out and the rest of the exhaust is still available. There are so many arguments on loss of back pressure vs less restriction my head is spinning. I'm getting it for the sound. If I have the opportunity I will dyno the car and do an Open/closed comparison.

    Man. Why even bother watching other youtubers. You cover everything! I was wondering How to get my panels off to change the speakers. Although I came across this one by accident. Im actually looking for a video on removing the front A post trim. I want to run a cable from a shift light by my rear view mirror th rough the headliner down into the A post and then there's a side cover bellow that to the left of the steering wheel, I assume just pops off, to get the cable to the OBD port.
    Im worried about prying things wondering if there's a hidden screw. Like the 2 in your door panel video under those covers that arent visible.
