- Have you ever seen Nadal sprinting to chase a drop shot from over 6 feet behind the baseline?
And he doesn't just get it back, he hits a staggering winner that blows anyone away who stands across the net…
What's the secret to this incredible speed, agility, and explosive movement. And is it just something that only the top players have?
As it turns out, the answer is nope! In fact… Your ability to execute powerful shots and get to your opponent's shots as quickly as possible is one of the critical aspects of having a dominant tennis game. And there’s one specific style of training that’s especially good at developing this sheer explosiveness… and that’s called “plyometrics”.
So check out our brand new video to learn:
- Exactly how the pros train for explosive strength that doesn’t make you slow on the court

A few of these are similar to ones my son and I are already doing, but your versions are more tennis-specific. A couple others are new to me and def look cool, can't wait to try them. Thanks for this video. Great stuff.
This video was awesome, thanks for sharing these exercizes! Could you do more videos on the serve especially on the biomechanics of how to achieve the key positions on the serve?
Keep going, your content is epic. Thanks!
Awesome. Will try this! Thank you!!
SO well put together. thank you.

Thank you Dustin Brown Jr. So much tennis specific.

These sound really great, just as general exercises too. I will practice these myself, and maybe incorporate on my soldiers' PT as well. Thanks!

This deserved another comment. WOW!!!! I really appreciate this video. I think this will make a difference in my daughter's reaction time and strength. SUSCRIBED and LIKED!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words Tori!
Would love a topspin serve video in the future
You got it ;)
Why off a box on step down and crazy ball drill? Thank you! Appreciate your content.
Would really like to see exercises about plyometrics !
Love the plyo video. Could you make a fitness video recommending weight training exercises for tennis? For example, is half squat or full squat better for tennis specifically?
That sounds like a great topic. Will do!
Yes please! I am doing a lot of fitness in the gym but am very insecure if that usuall workout fits for tennis or if there is a better way.
Could u please post a routine that can be done inside? I live in Washington and our indoor courts just closed again. I really want to be doing something tennisy every day. Also, will various pushups and/or pullups help my tennis at all?
do you have any drills for return of serve without a partner serving?
I bet you all this session's going to be great 👏👏👏
It sure will!
amazing hair and amazing tennis drills
What weight medicine ball do you use?
Hi, first of all, it is another excellent training video. Now equipment wise, what kind of tennis shoes you're wearing on this video?
I am wearing training shoes for this, but tennis shoes are perfect for this workout too. Try not to use running shoes as you might risk injury when changing directions.
Hi, I was wondering about the brand and model. Thank you in advance.
Could you please develop a full HIIT workout?
I like your hair_style !
Oh shit these are good
Great video, exactly what my daughter needs. She's a HS senior (no team at hrr small school) looking to improve that part of her game. She is with a high performance group under a coach 2 hour sessions 4x per week with some fitness but more game play, plus 6 or 8 practice sets.
With all that, how often would you recommend she do the plyo exercises you demonstrated?
Hi David! We're so glad to hear this helped.
I would recommend that as a high school player, she should do about 3 plyometrics workouts per week because you want to give your muscles a full 2-3 days of recovery time. Also, another thing to consider is quality over quantity. Clean repetitions and rest time between sets will go a long way. Hope this helps!
I’m an “old” “pro.” Had pro aspirations, I have some ideas I developed over the years and immediately began incorporating some of yours as well. People disbelieve when I tell them I still want to play/go pro but IDGAF! Great vids! Wish me luck!
how heavy of a medicine ball or workout ball are you using?
How heavy should a med ball be for the workout?
Great question. It depends on your overall strength, but a good start is 5-6 pounds. You want it to be light enough where you can perform *quick* movements with good resistance.
@@RacquetFlex Thanks:) Your videos are always inspiring and absolutely helpful
bro, topspin second serve please!
You got it!
This is all great but what if there’s no partner to do this with? Please create a video that can be done alone!
like others, i'm curious to know what weight medicine ball.
I'm assuming 6-8 lbs
How heavy is the medicine ball you´re using please?
Hi, Michal! We typically use a 6-10 lbs medicine ball. But I'd recommend starting lighter and progressing to heavier loads as you get comfortable with each exercise.
@@RacquetFlex Thank you very much! 🙏🏻

HIIT me with that rhythm stick
Why site named Racquet flex
Likely easier to jump if you cut off some of your hair and then send it to me as I need more under my hat. BTW: From me (the physics professor - former pro athlete) you can learn some physics tips to apply to your demonstrations: as you are missing several important physic-related points.
Is he a Naomi's twin brother?
I feel bad for anyone competing against you because your hair is always going to get the trophy
Great content. Thanks. You need a hair cut and a shave.
Jesus loves you ❤
Less talk and more excercises. thanks
