- Back in February 2021 on AtGames National Owners Day customers were able to place reservations for the AtGames Legends Ultimate Mini Tetris Special Edition for $299. Normally, this cabinet will retail for $399 and will be available to new customers for purchase in their standard 'Black Edition Variant'. The only difference between the Tetris Edition and the Standard Edition is the dedicated Tetris Artwork. AtGames sent me a Tetris Edition for the purpose of Review let's check out and see how they did!
(It Does Come with 2 Tetris Games that are normally played in Horizontal/Landscape Mode).

Will it fit in my studio ? I preordered one ☝️

Is it possible to run Nintendo Switch on the monitor and swap the original controller deck with Intec's?
@@smg4reblooperd182 I'll take a look

Waiting for Atgames to move the HDMI and USB to the back before I purchase any of the arcade or pinball machines
Lol not happening anytime soon although that is something most want
lol you going to be waiting for a long time or atgames ever does it . most people do it there self and it not that hard to do it
nice, i love the fact they r reasonable in the amount of space they have to work with making it 1 player only
I mean - that's actually smart - Arcade1Up has 20" wide cabinets and always try to have 2 Players and most folks cannot fit 2 players around their cabinets - but they do 2Player designs because that is how the original cabs were - AtGames is not basing this off an 'original cabinet' just some cute artwork and room for 1 player to enjoy their arcade in their home.
Trailer outro music is absolutely biblical.
LOL I'm glad you enjoyed that my friend!
I'll wait for a bar top instead.
solid informative review! thanks
Thank You Doc Freeman! I appreciate your support as always!
I really can't figure out why AtGames insists upon using 16x9 monitors in all of their products... other than pinball, the games they are offering weren't meant to be played this way. That bezel is so gigantic. This product could've had a much larger 4x3 screen. Feels like a cost saving measure that ultimately detracts from the overall experience. I was so close to purchasing this product for $300, which seemed like a great price point at the time, but now that I see this, I'm so glad I didn't pull the trigger.
Tetris version gets the orange marquee too. Looks nice. Except for the screws showing. Wish they would ship it already!
Well - it's only 2 screws on each side - it definitely does not look like a 'drive by shooting' like on Arcade1Up Cabinets - Yes the Marquee has an orange(ish) tint to it behind the lettering where it says "Legends Ultimate Mini"
@@PDubsArcadeLoft hahaha good one. But yeah I'm liking this. I almost forgot I even pre-ordered it. Been awile.
Looking forward to getting mine!
Happy to hear that Mike! Hope you enjoy it!
Can't wait to get mine.
With the iiRcade sale going on, I opted for the Dragon’s Lair version and won’t get the ALU Mini now.
Thanks for the feedback!
I would only buy the Tetris one so it kind of stinks they're all gone! 😎
Same. The standard edition is ugly af
Hopefully AtGames will see a demand here and maybe make some more? Or come out with an alternate dedicated cabinet with other artwork for a licensed game. Fingers crossed!
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I'm guessing they'll just offer side art like they do now with the ALU (the same Tetris theme is sold in their store) No custom bezels, control deck or kickplate graphics. But who knows.
Yeah I wish the Tetris version was still available to preorder for those that missed out
Good point. Why AtGames doesn't make more artwork options is beyond me. They have flirted going down this road with the ALU, but they need to get some sort of partnership with a graphics company and give folks some options when they buy these with great artwork applied. The ALUM Tetris cab looks sharp.
Just got a shipment is delayed email from AtGames about this cab. Here’s an excerpt from this email:
The good news is that we were able to send Legends Ultimate Mini Tetris® Limited Edition samples to a small handful of CZcams influencers, so they will be able to share their findings with the community in advance of delivery. This will be a valuable educational resource in anticipation of receipt of your own Legends Ultimate Mini Tetris® Limited Edition.
You and CoolToys should feel honored to be such educational resources for this community. /sarcasm.
Two thumbs down and the premier hasn’t even started yet. What’s wrong with people?!? Looking forward to seeing this one!! 🍻
Yea it's like people don't realize the thumbs up/down is used to rate the actual video not the product 🙄
LOL Thumbs Down do not bother me whatsoever - CZcams sees it as an 'engagement' on a video and it doesn't hurt the video in any way shape or form - in fact a thumbs up or down will only help the video travel further. If you react to a video - good or bad - youtube will then recommend it to the next person. So, I appreciate anyone who hits up or down they are helping me (even if they don't mean to lol)
Deco? That Burger Time is a port from a company called Deco. Cabinets that loaded arcade programs through audio cassettes. Not even the true arcade, but a port of it.
Data East licensed it to midway but also made their own version with the deco cassette system. Game is identical and DECO was their system.
Great honest review
Thank You Tucker - much appreciated.
I like that Tetris artwork on there 👍
Thanks Jason, the Tetris Artwork is very nice on this, at least in my opinion.
I got mine yesterday and have mixed feelings about it. The screen is smaller than what I thought. The best thing about it is the Tetris theming. I would say if you have an ALP and an ALU this is a definite skip.
appreciate the feedback!
Need this size for 2 players
I think this would totally be worth getting to finish off a home 3/4-scale arcade, I'd love one myself but I don't think we'll get them in Australia. I love the screen rotation feature!
Still trying to figure out if I need to get this still. I have the tetris pre-ordered though. Thanks for helping me try to make up my mind. Great review.
Thank you MadDads - Hope I gave you some information that was beneficial in this review.
Resell it for $399
Are you going to get it? MadDad
My take on the Mini is that it's a super smart business decision from Atgames. I'm not a fan of the 3/4 size, but loads of people are and the presence of 1up in physical retailers is undeniably a consumer draw. I own the ALU and LOVE its size, but its my only machine. For people with a home 1up arcade, the ALU is just too big and wouldn't fit in well. But this...this is amazing and trumps a few things on the 1up systems....namely price and dynamic offerings. So kudos to Atgames for creating a product that gets them more visibility and into more homes. The quality of an Atgames system makes this a solid purchase.
Great feedback thank you
I do find it funny that you didn't play Tetris on the Tetris review LOL. Good review though.
Great Review Dubster! I'm most likely picking this mini up. I've stayed away from the OG legends ultimate machine strictly because of size. This will be a nice addition.
Yeah if you don't have a Legends Ultimate already this will be a nice addition!
is anyone running any vertical coinops builds on this ? I'm looking for one.
Do you know if anyone sells marquees that will fit this?
Buy stuff arcades
PDubs, I'm having problems finding out what sticks and button's are used on this.... Do you happen to know?
Generic Happ buttons and Microswitches, but they are better quality than what comes with arcade1ups. The joystick is a baolin (spelling) sanwa clone and is decent.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft thanks! That is the best of 10 answers I have gotten!
@@PDubsArcadeLoft thanks! That is the best of 10 answers I have gotten!
The orange version looks great. Not a bad unit for entry level like you mentioned. It does look nice in vertical mode with those bezels from coin Ops.
Vertical Mode with Bezels the games look great - stretching the games, not so great. Thanks Rex!
That's fascinating isn't it.
I have the black one pre ordered. I was hoping for full screen vertical mode. I'm still getting though.
Hi Retro! Yes you can still stretch any game to 'fill' the screen either in horizontal or vertical mode - but some games will look a little weird stretched some won't, this will come down to user preference and how you want to play your games. Personally, I don't like how they look when stretched on here so I won't play the vertical games that way.
Looks like they pulled the plug on this. Their website defunct the page to order.
Tetris mini was a limited edition variant
i think $400 is over price it should be $300 at max . why pay $400 when you can buy full ALU at sam club for $500 just saying
Tetris is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember a Tetris arcade machine in Italy when my dad was stationed there. I already have an OG ALU and a ALP (on the fritz unfortunately), but I am still glad I preordered this edition as this will be my dedicated horizontal cab, replacing my A1U Pac-man. The big question will be 4-way or Octagonal and using the Uplay mini 4 way restrictor.
Comes with octagonal gate
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Hopefully Uplay will have more of their 4 way gates available soon!
So since you and Cooltoy and have both released videos at the same time, is this a hint to start looking for our purchase emails soon?
From what I've heard recently from AtGames - they are hoping to Cabinets are here in November for Consumers to purchase and ship out.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft just got the email that it’s delayed again and maybe we get it mid December.
this Tetris Edition should had something else is special about this cab then the decal cuz it wouldn't be that hard buying a Tetris Edition decal and know one would notice the difference j
Thanks for the review therexershow, I mean pdubs 👹
Don't know what you are trying to say here. All thoughts and opinions in this Review are mine and mine alone whether others agree or disagree with my thoughts and opinions that is way outside of my control.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft just screwing with you , great minds think alike
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I think he means if I did the review it would have been exactly the same.
Where’s the tetris game play? Does it have an original version of tetris?
Posted some video of it somewhere it's been too long
Great review. I never paid much attention to At Games, but after seeing this it has piqued my interest. My wife would certainly beat me if I got one, but…….if I survive the beating it may be worth it.
Excellent review, I’m liking this over the regular version they are putting out currently.
I'm happy to hear that - the regular version is a much larger cabinet at a higher price so this cabinet is meant for smaller spaces and budgets and is an interesting addition to their lineup of arcade products.
@PDubs Arcade Loft,
Great and honest review. I did perform a "knee jerk" reaction and purchased one of these during the last NOD. What caught me was the 'interchangeable' control decks. Although I'm not interested in using an AtGames Mini, I thought they might have a future release that included something with any of the following unique controls: trackball, spinner and/or flightstick. Without any news of that, I might just have to sell it on the open market as "New In Box."
Cheers,
Brent
The lack of a spinner/trackball is a major let down. Otherwise it looks great.
Thanks Dude!
"AtGames Legends Ultimate Mini Tetris Edition Review!"
Never shows Tetris the entire video or how it looks / performs.
For example how does this aspect ratio & bezel affect the game?
This isn't the last video for this cabinet. As noted in the description of the video 2 Tetris Games are included both are horizontal games not vertical will see those next, thanks
@@PDubsArcadeLoft sounds good 👍
No games list?
Should be on their website
I agree but it’s not. Shows for the full size cab with 300 games but not for this
Not impress..would be better they based the cab on an original cab shape so it's more nolstagic.
I don't think AtGames is looking to trigger 'nostalgia' on their product lines - that's not really their thing IMO.
The size difference in vertical is a letdown compared to my ALU. Thanks for the review Pdubs. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it, if I do I'll remove the bezel and alter it to house a bigger monitor. I think I have a 26 inch monitor.
Pdubs have you checked on a USB trackball or spinner solution? I don't know if this is something that's even available.
Cool toy said black version has real t molding
I didn't notice it on mine - but I'll double-check and post an update if needed.
Excellent review! I cancelled my pre-order for the Tetris cab a while ago. I was disappointed that it did not include a spinner or trackball option. I feel more and more satisfied with having chose the Legends Gamer Pro for my gateway into the Atgames ecosystem as time goes on! paPOw!!!
Seems more like a unfinished prototype imo - the screen swap is not streamlined and fully realized. The suction cup is hilarious 🤣
Lol you don't have to use it but they include the suction cup if you don't want to scratch up your bezel etc
Excellent review Pdubs. I had a tetris mini reserved but decided to cancel it.I have a Legends ultimate and dont really have a need for this smaller model.Unless space is a huge concern,I think the Ultimate is a better buy.👍
Great review PDubs! I definitely love the Tetris edition, looks great.
It's very cute
I hate the Tetris artwork. I think I heard they're going to sell new artwork for it.
Unlike the Legends Ultimate 1.1 Cabinet (which was designed to easily have swappable artwork screwed onto the cabinet) this Legends Ultimate Mini cabinet does not have those screwholes. So, an artwork change would require typical Vinyl applied to the cabinet. I don't think AtGames is going to do this for this cabinet I haven't heard them say anything about it. Aftermarket vendors will probably sell artwork options.
Love the Tetris design, it's too bad they didn't make that available to others besides those of us from NOD. I still didn't and likely won't be purchasing the ALUM. Just don't see where this product fits for those that already own other AtGames products already. You made that point and it's a good one. Also, found most interesting that you were playing pinball most on this! Good overview, PDubs, thank you for taking the time to make the video.
Thanks for the great review! I plan on leaving mine in vertical only mode. A little disappointing that a part of the screen will be wasted and I'll have to anchor mine to the wall before I let my wife play pinball in it. She already gets a little rough with the Arcade1ups.
Well if you get rough with the machine it is very light and it will move. If you just stand there hitting buttons won't be an issue
Well done im stoked I got the Tetris version and I love the versatility and size. Does the aspect ratio flip without intervention or power down ?
As of today - you have to power it off, rotate the screen, then power it on and it'll automatically detect the orientation and apply it. I believe they are looking at a Firmware Update to do this automatically so that might be ready by the time it makes its way to consumers.
Lego game
LOL Tetris is like Lego's
What a hideous design! At Games needs to go back to the drawing board with the shape of the cabinet. That artwork does not help. The Super Pacman behind it at the beginning of the video makes it look even worse.
Not a fan of the 'swan' shaped design of the cabinet? I respect your opinion but personally I'm ok with it, just a smaller version of it than their standard arcade. Thanks for commenting!
I actually dig it…. They did awesome capturing the style of Tetris… I guess different strokes for different folks
@@jwylovesknc The Tetris artwork is nice, I am referring more to the cabinets design and the fact it does not have the correct aspect ratio monitor included is a huge oversight.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Not at all a fan of the cabinets shape. Including the ALU. I was hoping to see a new design by now from this company.
Very dumb and pointless design if you asked me. Do you ever ask yourself who comes up with these dumb ideas 😂. Instead of improving the design they make the design worse.
