This video reminds me of Jack McCallum's quote about Michael Jordan being "better than his hype." I already know MJ was the greatest ever. I watched him. I saw it. But when I see this footage nowadays, I realize that he was even better than I remembered.. Maybe it's just that my senses have been dulled by years of Jordan imitators and comparisons. You know, Brandon Roy or Jason Richardson do one handswitching circus shot and people are amazed. They forget MJ did this stuff EVERY game.
People will never truly understand Michael Jeffery Jordan and how good he was unless you grew up and saw him play... I feel bad for future generations because they will never experience what we did! Solid upload

The thing about MJ is/was his maturity. Even as a rookie he was so conscious about his shots. Even those circus shots where high percentage shots for him, he made them every game. Power and grace, skill, maturity, the complete package.
MJ claps his hand and backward lay up is totally insane. NO ONE can do it like him. And MJ's one hand ball fake is absolutely classic. Respect to the God of basketball.

There is no "debate" in my opinion. It's only the fact that we never wanted to stop watching Jordan play. Mike is Babe Ruth or Muhammad Ali. He's The Legend. Ever watch how he's own teammates on the court reacted to the amazing things he did? It was like kids watching their favorite player too. And what did Mike do? Smiled and shrugged, instead of beating his own chest and dancing. He knew, and so did we. Still do actually. There's no debate. We just didn't want it to ever end. We STILL want Michael Jordan.... So, we're looking for another one. Sorry to say, we haven't found one yet.... And never will. G.O.A.T.

These videos of him are so impressive where he doesn't dunk at all in them... its just one beautiful under the rim move after another. I was so fortunate to grow up watching his career. I have watched lots of basketball since he retired. I have yet to see anything close. Maybe I'm biased.... sure the second half of the video with the dunks are cool also... but the under the rim stuff to me is majestic.

I agree with you. I think a lot of young people these days need a current playing hero to follow and admire and that is fine and all....but the game is not at the same level now and the guys they follow now are at a level that is not at the level Jordan and some of his rivals were at.

In his prime best athlete to play any sport. When he lost a little due to age became so fundamentally sound it was scary two dribbles and he can get to rim from 3point line. If he is not the goat then who is? I rember watching him come back thought ok he past his prime especially 97 and 98 he gonna loose one. nope those wins looked even easier than 1st three cause his game was just so complete. 96 to 98 no weakness in game can shoot can still dunk on you moved with out ball like reggie miller maybe had a 38 inch vertical instead of a 48 due to age but sure made up for it
