  • Isiah Thomas explains to Draymond Green that he never suspected Michael Jordan was the reason he got left off the Dream Team and when he found that out watching ‘The Last Dance,’ he was shocked. He then goes on to explain that his relationship with MJ is not salvageable unless he gets a public apology.

@@twhite3850no denying his greatness and achievements, but sadly, no one is talking about that. When's the last time you seen a video about his greatness? I think he's one of the greatest point guards EVER. Why has every video he's been in has been somehow tethered to MJ? Why don't we see videos about him dropping 18 in a qtr with a broken ankle? It's because he doesn't get his proper recognition for those things. Why would Draymond discuss MJ instead of his great achievements? No one talks about him or wants to talk about him and his obvious greatness. That's why we're discussing this right now instead of his greatness. Like it or not, his accomplishments have taken a back seat to these discussions. Even MJ said he's first or 2nd best PG ever, next to Magic and this is what we're talking about today? Come on bro

Half the team didn’t want him on it. I don’t take anything away from Zeke. He’s one of the best PG’s of all time and what those Pistons teams did by winning 2 (and almost 3) championships was incredible. But, his team played a dirty brand of basketball. They frequently tried to hurt people and constantly committed dirty fouls. He was viewed as the mastermind behind it. Not being liked or wanted in certain circles was the penalty he paid for that.

Michael Jordan will never apologize to Isaiah Thomas, in fact he has no reason to as far as I see it! When the Chicago Bulls defeated the Detroit Pistons with Isaiah Thomas in the playoffs in 1991, and went on to defeat the Lakers in the 1991 NBA Championship. Well after Chicago beat Detroit immediately after the game instead of showing sportsmanship to Michael and the Bulls Isaiah ran straight to the locker room with some other Piston players. That move sealed Isaiah Thomas fate in not being chosen to play with the Dream team in the 1992 Olympics. You see Isaiah started the bs, that's why I say, Michael Jordan doesn't owe Isaiah Thomas sorry a...s nothing especially not an apology. Some people will never be friends it's not a big deal!💯

Growing up, Zeke and JoeD were my favorite players. I loved the Pistons. But this revisionist history has to stop. Zeke was the gatekeeper in Chicago. When MJ first got there, Zeke made it easy for him to assimilate into the city. But when the city started to turn on Zeke and MJ became Chicago, he hated that and began to treat MJ in such a way as to sever the relationship. Then when they walked off the court without acknowledging the Bulls, it was completely over. The way the public viewed Zeke was never the same. And remember, Zeke's head coach was the coach of the dream team. He even said it wasn't MJ that kept him off the team. It was Pippen, Malone, and Barkley.
And by the way, Zeke is a ass hole. But that's what made him and those Piston teams so great. But they are the only dynastic team (EC Finals, EC Finals, Finals, Finals win, Finals win, EC Finals lost to Bulls) that isn't treated as one. And it was because of the attitude and overall disrespect for the league and other players in it.

I agree 100%. A lot of these fans and analysts today don't understand this feud. I grew up in Chicago in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Isiah was so jealous that Jordan was the face of Chicago basketball in his hometown. You had to have lived in Chicago during those times to understand the rivalry. This can't be explained. You won't understand it just watching documentaries or listening to these players tell the stories. You had to be there to understand it. Notice how Jordan never really talks about it? I'll give credit to Isiah....I believe he is the best point guard/ball handler ever with Jerry West behind him. I would choose Isiah Thomas over any point guard today. But, he's still a piece of sh*t, dirty player and Chicago will never forgive him.

I will say Isaiah should’ve been on the team based on his skill set, but I understand why he didn’t make and I totally agree with the decision. Isaiah and the Piston only won because they started playing football, they was trying to hurt players. Joe Dumas, and Vinny Johnson played the game correctly and the rest was haters and really was trying to injure players. Isaiah needs to get over it, he made this bed and now he has to lay in it. Michael Jordan called Zeke an A-hole because he refused to shake his hand after the Bulls swept them. He was wrong for that because it showed poor character. Its why people remember the Pistons more for the walking off the court than anything else. Jordan was wrong for not wanting Zeke on the team, too.
Zeke needs to move on. No kind of historical revisionism is going to chance what happened. MJ also gave props to Zeke in that doc by saying he was the greatest point guard after Magic.

As a matter of fact Laimbeer still gloats when talking about those days. Somebody should have kicked his ass outside the arena. Huh? What Era? If Magic had 5, Bird had 3, and he had 2 how did they win the most Championships? I'm confused.

He was referring to the era of the 1980s.

@SECRETARIATguy224 Thank you, but how can that be when in the 80s was dominated by Lakers or Celtics. Philly won 83; Detroit 89 - the rest of the decade was either LA or Boston. I'm still confused. 😆

You don't need to watch the video. Look at the host and the guess 😂. You didn't make the team because you just didn't mil with the rest.

Willie D said it best when he said that Michael Jordan is a great basketball player but he is not a very good person!

I’ll never forget when I saw Zeke LIVE on NBA TV say “ WE ALWAYS BEEN HERE”. After that I could never look at MJ nothing more than a ball player that the league used as a distraction for decades via David Stern. ZEKE always will be STAND UP In my eyes.
