    Had they run with this ad, the devil would have sued them for implying there was a link between him and Peter Mandelson.

    You know, seeing how many times he's lied to us, I'm starting to think that actually happened.

    It was obvious the first time Blair came on telly that he is fake, confused as to how he won once let alone 3 times.

    Ridiculous to suggest that Major could have won in 1997. Given the reception the `New Labour, New Danger' campaign got, he's right that this would have backfired.

      He could have won. If the party wasn’t in a civil war. I support Brexit but at that point it was too early and it costed Majors administration and in some ways reputation which is sad as he did economic miracles and other successes like the gulf war and opposing devolution.

    • @mrspeaker6720
      @mrspeaker6720 Před 2 lety

      @@bruh949 no he couldn't have, and if you support Brexit, you don't get to have an opinion on anything related to politics or policy. You've proven yourself incapable.

      @@mrspeaker6720 yes he absolutely could have, Blair only won due to the large unpopularity of a unstable government and new labour branded itself as “stable”. Also I don’t know anything about politics or policy because I support Brexit? You don’t exactly sound like you know what your saying.

    Major betrayed us over Europe so its delusional to say he could have won against Blair who at the time, rightly or wrongly came accross as more patriotic.
    Tory sleaze was really bad as well - the public was fed up with it.
    Also, though I despise what Blair stands for, he was the most gifted politician for a generation.
    The Tories should have done much better. But they were going to lose no matter what. It was the magnitude of the defeat that was so damaging and that is down to Major and his EU betrayal.

      Major was pro-Union. He opposed devolution. Tony Blair has helped divide this nation. John Major was a Thatcherite economically. FORGET EUROPE. He was very the same in thatchers economic policies. Privatisation, foreign investment, stop direct taxes, high growth. He was brilliant economically. Oh and the gulf war was a huge success. Major was better than he appears.
