I was in Berlin to see Iron Maiden... and then Lord of the Lost rocked the stage and caught me with Drag me to hell. I am a fan since then and love their music. And what I also appreciate is, that each and all of them are such nice personalities.

Iron Maiden being my favorite band, I’m typically unimpressed with covers, but you really made it your own! Kudos!!! Love it.
Where Eagles Dare by Tyr and Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iced Earth are pretty good. While not my favorite Dream Theater did
To Tame a Land and it was ok. sadly most Maiden covers are pretty awful. A bunch of cookie monster vocals, overly distorted, and unnecessary double drums.
I agree, the Cookie Monster vocals and distortions really ruin it for me, yeah lol. I haven’t heard the others, I’ll have to check em out, thanks!
Tyr was good, I’ll have to check out more of their stuff, Iced Earth vocals were chilling lol, very fitting. I think Dream Theater could have done a lil more being prog and James LaBrie’s vocals didn’t seem up to par, not bad though.
Tyr also does a good cover of Cemetery Gates. Allegaeon covered Subdivisions by Rush which is pretty cool.

@@AFx3144 people think The Trooper, Aces High, Run to the Hills, 2 Minutes to Midnight etc from the early catalog. This is definitely a deeper cut of Maiden.

I think it says something about Iron Maiden's ability to write music that their songs make for great covers in so many styles. This is one more in a long line of excellent covers of really amazing classic metal songs, well done.
I think it's because they write at a very high level. Musically and lyrically are definitely high up the intellectual ladder. That suits it for high level bands to do good renditions of them. Rush is another band that has some good covers out there. Key point would be the piano arpeggios in the middle. Something like Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, and other contemporaries of Maiden just would be very difficult to add that level of depth. As a bass player and drummer Steve and Niko have to be some of the best musicians out there. Niko is insanely underrated as a drummer.

They took out the guitar solo and buried what remains with keyboard and a muddy tone, fantastic lyrics delivered with less conviction than the original and faux heaviness at the end. The distorted vocals manage to sound less aggressive and dangerous than Bruce, cool tribute for sure

That scream on the what did we learn is a rare thing for chris' voice, I would love to hear him reach that pitch again in more songs, I like his low voice but the higher notes are definitely golden to hear sometimes

Iron Maiden were already living legends when I got into them back in 1989 or so. And after I saw them live, which is like a religious experience, I was hooked. Nearly 40 years later, and they are still living legends. I have only recently gotten into Lord of the Lost, maybe a year ago or so, and I love those guys. Plus, I have a special place in my heart for bands that do Iron Maiden covers. I would love to see Lord of the Lost do a cover of Wasting Love, Phantom of the Opera, Flight of Icarus, Powerslave, To Tame a Land, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, or Hallow Be Thy Name.
