Wouldn't he be able to plead insanity? Considering most of the shit was done by his alter ego? The camera footage of him fighting himself could be used as evidence for example.
Maybe, but since Tyler led a domestic terrorist cell, he would likely be sent to a mental hospital for life. Since he also "killed" his alter ego at the end, he may be able to plead temporary insanity, or be considered sane enough to stand trial. The most realistic outcome in the film's canon would likely be no consequences since he apparently got every Gen X male in the United States, including those in the police, to take part in his scheme.
I think Tyler wouldn't be able to plead insanity after he created Project Mayhem because it was a somewhat terrorist organisation and Tyler was the mastermind behing it. And after he blowed up the building in the movie's finale, he would certainly get life imprisonment or death sentence and no evidences that he has a schizophrenia and that he wasn't aware of this terrorist attack because it was done by his alter ego would change his fate
