Today, we embark on a quest in defeating Terraria's final boss Moon Lord. But this time, I can only use knife weapons. Things like the Vampire Knives, Shadow Flame Knife, Throwing Knives, and more! Will we be able to stab the final boss Moon Lord to death, watch to find out!

Sword= knife but big

The reason that the vampire knives are praised as good but suck is because they used to be good before nerfs balanced them to more of a support weapon also building the plantera arena in pre-hardmode is much easier

If you try to repeat this, use the sharpenning station as it will give the vampire knives armor penetration.
Also there's fossil throwing knives and the hardened fossil stuff was moved to pre boss tier in 1.4 and the armor also decreases ammo consumption which I'm pretty sure works on knives
pretty sure the sharpening station only works for melee weapons
You could have fished Frost Daggerfish from snow biome in early game.
Also the Bone Glove could have increased your damage against the Wall.

In 1.2 the vampire knives had by far the highest dps in the game, so we’re all just clinging to the past.
I used to play on cheap Amazon fire kindle and it stayed on 1.2 until 1.3 came out for it the same year as 1.4 💀
For reference, 1.3 came out in 2015, Amazon was stuck in 1.2 until 2020 I think

The healing on the vampire knives is roughly 30 health per second. That's literally equivalent to a greater healing potion every 5 seconds.
The damage is a largely negligible downside considering, in most situations, you're only supposed to fall back on it when you get low and quickly switch back to your main weapons the moment your health's at a comfortable level.

@@crunchylettuce5446 my first ever play through since I was 7 years old (when the game was nothing like it is now) I played master mode without potions, the vampire knives literally were my saving grace, they were so extremely op and could outdps terra blade if you are up close (only single target). ofc they weren’t my primary but their healing factor was so busted it was essentially was like having a potion with no cooldown. im starting to think you have literally never used vampire knives. maybe do your research before “educating” (or at least attempting to do so) someone about it while being completely toxic for no reason.
@@spade66i dont think that playthrough would have been mastermode considering you would have to be like 10 rn to have done a master mode playthrough at 7 because master mode was added to the game in like 2020 it might have been expert mode though

I'm not sure if you just skipped over it, but you could have used the Shimmer to give yourself a bit more of an edge via the Shimmer morphed upgrades from a Life Fruit and Crystal, that improve your DEF and HP Regen slightly(and also the NPC Buff Book 2 to help keep Nurse alive a bit longer in rough fights)
This was played on a version before 1.4.4 since he found a lucky horseshoe in an underground chest.
This is a bit late but when you where trying to farm mimics for the magic dagger a really good and safe method is to dig a wide, shallow hole around 5 blocks deep and 20 wide in the surface forest biome and make sure to keep the background walls, then build an afk box above the hole so that surface mumics can spawn, this method can get you around 3 to 4 mimics in 5 minuts and they spawn in a place that the only other enamies are gnomes and slimes
This method also gets around 12 to 15 gnomes in 5 minuts and works for gnomes prehardmode

I'd have suggested making some cursed flame vials and the fire gauntlet. those extra damage ticks help quite a bit. with the cursed flame and fire damage one throw of the shadowflame knife and you would put on 3 DOT debuffs.

bro actully said that vampire knives are not a good wepon when they heal like 2 hp PER HIT now i myself dont really use them but its defiantly not because "it dosent heal enough" it mainly cause it dosent work on moonlord and thats bascilly the only boss where it matters thats the reson you could say it dosent have a purpose but the healing is crazy

You could've kill queen bee to get the stinger necklace to help out against wall of flesh and you could've made an obsidian shield, not that the shield would've done much but its a better accessory regardless

@@diamondnife1997 fair point on the psycho knife. for the rest, melee speed is only improving the velocity and not the attack speed

I'm surprised he didn't go for the Chain Knife, it'd have been really good for the Brain of Cthulhu fight, dealing with the hungry and even done well in the beginning of hardmode.
You could even argue with counting the Chain Guillotines too since they're the same weapon but with 2 knives and the Magic Dagger was allowed even though it didn't have "knife" in the name

I think it’s genuinely hilarious how nobody in the entire comment section mentioned using an inferno potion at any point. Even with his current strat for the WoF, a single inferno potion would’ve helped manage the hungries.
Considering he had basically all the other buffs on (other than neglecting flasks at some points in hard mode), I believe he might have intentionally left out inferno pots (and possibly flasks as well); for the spirit of the run, bosses specifically.

on my first playthrough, shadowflame knives carried me until the Cultist. A certified hood classic
A good trick when farming mini bosses or in general all non boss enemies, make sure to hold some coins for when you die they’ll pick them up and they won’t despawn

Fossil armor is suprisingly good even with the changes so you dont have to go into the dungeon to get a ranged armor set
Plus also bone throwing knives exist so he didnt have to spend hours relying on rngesus for a bloodmoon
The dryad sells vicious powder at blood moon
Everything in this game has a higher spawn rate in the jungle that is why every farm uses it

Place a single platform right behind a door inside your house to prevent zombies from opening them. They can only open doors the way they walk in, even if the door is able to open swinging to the outside.

A lot of Terraria CZcamsrs arent very funny and are just stale, but i was laughing a lot throughout this.
Gotta say you really slept on the blade staff. It's a fantastic summon throughout the entire game, ESPECIALLY as sub summon for melee builds who can stack so much armor pierce with Ichor and Sharpening Station that their repeated multihits just fillet enemies. Even against moonlord here, with 0 armor pierce (Seriously, wheres your Ichor and sharpening station?) there were times where they were doing well over 200 dps to at least the hands, easily being half of your damage output during the first part of the fight. They're also extremely consistent, and would of made your entire run overall much smoother with awesome crowd control and safety.
Heck, I might even wonder if just going pure summoner may of been the better overall choice, or summoner/melee hybrid (Old Ones Army sets?)
what d##gs are you on the blade staff is one of the worst summons in the game without at least a 4 whip stack the whole point of this wepon is summon tag dmg.. and if ur a melee summoner hybrid you rly won't be doing that although you can use a whip like the durendal for melee speed that's still not enough extra summon dmg ..and the blade staff should never be used post golem because of the xeno staff and then with that the terraprisma and your argument about using it on moonlord makes even less sence cuz of the stardust dragon.. and if ur just so dumb he said that the blade staff is not a knife wepon.... Ur comment sounds like it was written by a blade staff fanatic or just a complete noob

That sure is a lot of comparing non-knife weapons to a knife weapon in the knife only run, where yes, he did say the blade staff counted, and did in fact use one, and I was just commenting that he should of used one earlier, because the Enchanted Daggers that the blade staff summon, do count as a knife per his definition of a knife.
Are there better options in a standard run? Sure! That doesn't mean the blade staff is -bad- though, something can still be -good- when better options exist.

5:58 Frost Daggerfish would be a good expendable weapon and you'd probably be the first person in the history of Terraria deliberately fishing to get and use them. Screw the Angler tho.
Also Magic Dagger was the first weapon I thought of when you said knives and daggers, I'm surprised you didn't go for it immediately after WoF. Btw, the best place to farm plain mimics is the hellbridge. They spawn in shadow chest form and you can just run back and forth looking for them. Besides them and the Tax Collector thing hell has no new enemies so while it isn't as free as in Classic, where it's the safest place in the game in early Hardmode, it's still not bad. As a bonus, if you make the bridge out of stone a portion of it will turn into Pearlstone giving you an easy crystal farm. That's what I've been doing since the 1.1 days :D

When I do melee I do like the combination of shadow flame knife with frost burn armor, the fire gauntlet, and a cursed flask.
Just burning your enemies with every fire debuff in the game. A solid option for normal mode. Tricky in expert. Hard in master mode.
