Hey everyone! Sunday's episode was such an emotional one that I couldn't resist making a tribute to these guys. I thought the song was perfect for them two. I immediately fell into tears once I saw Daryl's reaction when he found his brother. That was so heartbreaking to see him like that. Merle has become one of my favorites this season, and it's such a shame that he had to die.. I just loved him. it was still so sad to see him go last night. I wish he would have lived on longer through out the show. I mean he just came back too.. But the acting in this episode was beyond brilliant, and I have to say it is one of my favorites.

A lot of people hate Merle because he was a jerk, dick, asshole. But he obviously wanted to change. He didn't have to come back the the prison and help them, but he did. And no matter what he was there for his little brother Daryl. He may have had a bad temper and a hostile/aggressive personality but in the end he tried to help, he tries to change, but people didn't let him because of his sour temper but Daryl always seen the best in him even though they fought a lot.
+Littlewolf1001 I loved Merle, I cried when he died. He was actually a really fantastic character and it would've been nice to see him progress further in the series but oh well. I did however meet Michael Rooker and that was lovely , best hugger ever that guy! lol

Merle was messed up but he did love Daryl. I cried when I saw him as a walker. Damn Governor. Dixon Brothers will always have my heart
I miss Merle. I understand that he was too strong of a personality and would take away from the lead protagonist but damn he was a good character.
That's wasn't really why they killed him off... They killed him off because of how much of a hassle it was to have VFX in every single frame he's in because of his hand. That's also partially the reason why they killed Hershal after his leg got chopped off.
They gave Hershel a peg leg and gave Merle a metal hand. Solved. I think you are referring to why they never cut Rick's hand off like in the comics. They replied that they the effects in every show would be too much hassle.
They still had to do plenty visual effects on Hershal's leg... His leg doesn't just shrink to fit the peg, it's VFX. With Merle's hand they had to take his hand out or shrink the length of his arm for 90% of his scenes. They even talked about it in an interview.

While Merle does love Daryl he was pretty abusive towards him that is why he is saying that. Meanwhile everyone cares about Daryl in his new family. Especially Rick and Carol... so.

Merle reminds me of my older brother. he protects me from my father. I watched my father beat my mom and my sister , my brother all of us. everyday.
my father was an alcoholic, it was a very hard time, but damn, my brother was the best brother of all time.
everybody hates merle cause they dont understand the back story. you have a happy normal family so you cant understand this, and you never will in your life.
i can identify myself with merle and daryl and this is why merle and daryl are my absolute favorite characters from twd.

I miss Merle so much! He was absolutely horrible in Season 1 and I did think his character was easy to dislike but since his reintroduction he was sort of skirting character development and may have been inching toward becoming a better person. Alas, he's gone too soon!

Wow. 8 years ago.. I remember how I'd watch this video constantly. Ever since then the song has been one of my favorites, this video is still as great as I remembered.
Thank you for this, I still and always will appreciate this video. Merle was easily my favorite character and still is. I always wished after he redeemed himself he could've lived and became a big part of the group. I wonder what he would've been like with negan. Or even the whispers. And maybe could've been the one to finally end the Govenor. I feel like he would've been one of the only people to accept negan and understand he's changed. And he could've helped people understand more that he changed. I always like to wonder how he would've handled all the loss. Merle was an incredibly complicated character that I instantly fell in love with.
Wish we could see Michael rooker reprise the role as maybe another hallucination of some kind.

Miss him so much, my favorite character between the comics and the TV show.. He was so badass, he was probably the best survivor, right next to Abraham and Shane... He was such a wild card, you never knew what he was going to do and when he did something it was rad.. I wish I had me a younger brother so I could be the Merle to his Daryl..

Merle's death was to soon, i think everyone agree's on that.
I don't get why they killed off so much people in season 3&4.
The prison dudes, Beth's boyfriend i don't even know there name's so thats proof that they died to soon.
If they really wanted to change the series from the comic, they should have let Shane live.
It would be really interesting how he would react on the Governor and Michonne and Andrea.
(This is very long but Walking Dead Fans would like this)
Maybe he was in Woodbury together with Andrea when they got split up on the farm.
And when the Governor is attacked by Michonne and the prison group and hears that Lori is dead Shane joins the Governor.
Because in his eyes the Governor is a better leader than Rick, and wants ofcourse to get his child back at all cost.
So then you have The Governor, Shane, Merle and Martinez.
When Merle gets betrayed by the Governor he flies with Daryl, they meet up with the group episodes after the betrayal.
The prison group is able to capture Shane when they try to save Daryl.
Shane is completely not the person who he was and only want's revenge on everyone who left him and Andrea on the farm.
So that includes Carl, Rick try's to talk some sense into him.
It doesn't help, Rick goes to talk with the Governor who's determent to destroy everyone in to prison at all cost, he threatens that he has Shane under his control and lets him do the work killing Rick, when he has his child he would be of no use to him anymore.
Rick comes back at the prison where Shane is going crazy in one of the cells.
Before he talks to anyone of the group what the Governor said, he goes to Shane first.
At first Shane doesn't believe the Governor would do that, he believes after all this he can live in peace with Judith in Woodbury.
Later on he becomes to realize there is no peace and doesn't want to see Judith, Carl and Rick to die as Lori did, he understands Rick again like a brother.
He wants to blame someone why this has all happened to him, and does one last act to help the group in the episode: This sorrowful life.
He attacks the Governor (who didn't count on that) and loses a lot of his man but survives.
Daryl and Merle are still surviving on there own and hare shooting close by and after arguing they will take a look.
Shane dies with a smile on his face, while the Governor stands in anger in front of him.
His whole plan to whipe out the prison is ruined, and he lost to much of his man.
In the prison it is total lockdown they lost track of Shane and don't know what is going to happen next, Merle knows with this information its a free ticked to earn the trust from the prison group.
So Daryl and Merle go back to inform the prison group what happened.
Still the groups faith in Merle is low.
END OF THE FALLEN BROTHERS.
That is pretty cool i wish that did happen actually then merle would be alive which woulda been so cool and awesome so yeah i like that
You, my friend, just wrote a better story than all of TWD's season 3 and 4 writers. Fuck them for killing off almost every good character from the first two Seasons in 3 and 4.

Man, I remember in season 1, when I heard Merle had a brother I was like "Oh no, another a-hole like him?" but who knew they'd both become such interesting characters.

Love the Dixon brothers, reminds me of me and my baby brother, both had a similar childhood, I definitely got the worst of it but I love him regardless, the dynamic of the brothers definitely hits home, I used to beat on him sometimes as big brothers do but if it came down to him I’d have his back no matter the situation or outcome. Great tribute video though I have to listen to this a few times a week! Thanks man means a lot
