Unexpected Life Emerges at the Giant Ecosystem Pond

- I knew the ecosystem pond would have remarkable happenings, but I wasn’t ready for what would happen. I suppose things never happen as expected, anyway. For example, I didn’t expect to get this invested in the story of birds living over my pond, yet here we are. The treefrog sage was incredible, too.
All of this still doesn’t even come close to telling the whole story, though. The event occurred months ago, and much has happened since-that and more in the continuation of the series

The unfolding of the ecosystem contained many stories. I knew I’d love the frogs, but one that I DID NOT expect to get this invested in was the birds! I think it’s truly remarkable and it’s awesome to be able to share it with you. I can’t wait to show you what’s next! Thank you for your continued support. Have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
Thank you for taking the time to document these! So much fun
Great video serpa
This is not a critique I just find it strange that you intervened with the tadpoles but did not remove the parasite egg from the other clutch of eggs. What was your thought process behind this?
I love this. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
@@PrometheanVision I think Cowbirds are a protected species?
Today we are continuing construction of the terrarium that houses Tanner.
I LOVE THIIIIIIIIIIS! A terrarium we all share.
If he starts adding edible plants then maybe
The earth?
his enclosure is really coming along, we love to see it
bro the camera work is unreal. this plays like a NatGeo documentary and it’s awesome
I love that the phoebes were able to have that second clutch
This has quickly become one of my favorite series. It's so calming and a good way to relieve stress.
Ik of a better way
Same!
It's so rewarding to watch
This is a real animal CZcamsr that actually cares about animals. ☺️
Him and bama bass👍
He reminds me of AntsCanada.
@@kindGSL AC Family :)
@@kindGSL serpa is way better than him. AC is notorious for prioritising looks over function in various setups and being very ignorant when it comes to the health and care of his various animals. That’s not to say he’s COMPLETELY terrible, but for someone who’s been doing it for so long there’s a few obvious mistakes he makes when he really should know better. It’s never out of malice or purposeful mistreatment at least
"Hey, whatcha watching? A nature documentary?"
*Don't say frogs f*cking, don't say frogs f*cking*
"FROGS ENGAGED IN THE WARM EMBRACE OF AMPLEXUS"
😂😂😂
I work for a professional race team, After coming home from a race at VIR in 2018. I found that two grey tree frogs had found their way into my gear bag and were still alive. I built a 18x18x36 Bio Active Paludarium for them. They are such a joy, they have personalities and know when its feeding time. They will come to the branch towards the front of the glass and ill feed them with tongs. They are for sure living their best life. I catch them watching me from time to time with what seems like curiosity. I've taken care of red eye's, Vietnamese Golden Tree Frogs..etc..etc..and I must say. Grey Tree Frogs have been my favorite so far
FYI, for the future if you’re going to continue to work on the back yard they make wheelbarrows with electric motor assisted front wheels, and that would be perfect for your back yard… it would probably make the slope way less of a hassle. They’re expensive but in your case it’s probably worth it to save time, your physical health and probably save money if you don’t need to hire help.
Just a thought!
Good luck, and stay safe out there.
It's a lot of work without the electric power but it's worth it because you're getting good exercise
@@TheMrDarius Yeah, but there’s a limit to how much exercise you want to do when you’re just trying to get stuff done. Especially when you’re working on a passion project and you end up spending 60% of your time just moving things around or doing hard labor.
The best part about modern technology and tools is that it frees up more time to get more done and spend your time on what really matters.
Also, pushing heavy loads up an uneven hill isn’t particularly healthy exercise either… it’s bad on the knees and ankles and you risk injury.
My brother in law broke his knee doing that exact thing… he was pushing a wheelbarrow full of cement bags up a slope, his foot slipped on a rock and the wheelbarrow rolled back into his knee and he went down hard… years later his knee is still messed up. It’s not worth it. Save the time if you can afford the technology and get your exercise in a safer way.
I'm enjoying this series. I have a pool that turned into a pond. Two turtles and a bunch of frogs moved in.
would the leftover chlorine not be a major problem?
@@portatoman9321 If it’s old enough the chlorine may have evaporated?
@@rosestar7078 im not too sure, especially with the frogs even small amounts of chlorine would be deadly because they absorb it through their skin and no matter what there will be some chlorine left over
@@portatoman9321if the pond has sunlight directly hitting the water then after a few days it'll come out of the water on its own. If he also has filtration set up and has activated charcoal in there that will pull out the toxic metals and some chlorine as well. I'm sure the animals that went in there went in after the chlorine disappeared as it was cycling itself.
They won't go in chlorinated water. Frogs are alert species. If they're there the water I'd clean.
The pond is looking better update after update, what a beautiful scenery. The little birds chirping and growing healthy and strong made me so happy. This series is brilliant.
Even if the bird story is sad this is nature. With this channel i was able to witness the beautiful and wonderful looks of animals and nature. Thank you serpa❤
Natural has its own way of balancing out both good and bad. Which is what I love about it
My cat likes watching this series just as much as I do
This series actually makes me feel so hopeful for my future.
I could watch this for hours!!! ❤❤❤ So peaceful and calm. Glad the birds got to lay more eggs. They are so cute. The frogs are amazing. I would love to sit out there at night watching them call to each other. What a beautiful oasis of life. Can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you for sharing your creative endeavors. Have a blessed day.

This series is so cool. So many things going on in one backyard pond and excellent videography. I hope you continue to give us updates.
Yay! A happy ending for the new baby chick's. You are a man of many talents who loves nature. Thanks for sharing all of your informative videos. 😊😊
Thank you for sharing your good fortune with us. Building that paradise looks like a joy (and a lot of sweat and aches)! I might never have a private paradise like yours, but I'm glad I can pretend to visit once in a while.
This video was posted the same minute it turned my birthday, tysm for starting my day off nicely ^_^

It really is incredible. I’m so glad you’re doing updates on the pond.
these progress videos on the pond are so uniquely & powerfully wonderful. they capture me like any good nature documentary and i can't tell you how much i love them.
Amazing production! Thanks tanner
Wow frogs know the concept of consent better than most humans: @4:00
FREEDOM OF CHOICE!
Lovely update, I bet it is very gratifying to see animals appear and then call others because they've found such an amazing place that you've made, looking forward to the next one.
staying up to ungodly hours with my friends, which means i’m actually early for a serpa video release today, usually they’re the first thing i watch when i wake up on saturdays but today i stayed up until it came out
I love to watch your vision comes true. This is an incredible pond.
Great cliff hanger ending!

Thank you Tanner, your pond area is developing nicely, it’s beautiful now I can’t wait to see it finished though! 🌺💚🙃
I really like how well you've diversified your content in a way that feels very organic, it's always a treat whenever I see a new video on my feed
I'm hooked Tanner, thanks for sharing the beauty!
what omg im hooked its like a netflix series but so much better cause tanner made it, wow i hope this gets many many more people interested in this hobby of loving nature, love it!!!!!!!!!
Man I love a good comeback story. Amazing series!
Even before I found your channel, doing this to my own property (when I own one) is my goal. Me and my gf want to buy farmland and restore it to a prairie. Thank you for a hopeful glimpse of what my future holds. Life restoration.
Love it, thanks for sharing!!! Cool to see how you and your channel evolve over the years!
Love this series, after being indoors so much with aquariums and terrariums, it’s refreshing to see the time pass and the environment change outside. So beautiful and cozy 💗
This series is the best content you've ever produced. Watching bonafide native wildlife engage with your profound skill for natural design, clever engineering, and great cinematography is remarkable. Keep up the great work and would love to see you work on more outdoor designs that engage with your local ecosystem
Thank you for reminding me of my personal passion. You inspire me. I appreciate the wake up call.
I love birding so much so it’s so cool to see you having birds on the channel! Love this pond series! 💚
yay!!! they got their babies!! 🎉
i'm always so happy when i watch these videos, your creativity is always astounding and it's amazing to see how the natural world just thrives. it shows just how much you care and how much you love not only animals, but also your home.
thank you again for taking the time to make these videos Tanner.
I love Phoebes. When I lived in California there was one who would perch on the clothesline every afternoon. Now that I'm in Michigan I hope to attract them here. Along with being adorable their "phoebe" chirps are so sweet to listen to. It's great to watch along as your pond and other projects proceed. Keep up the great work!
These are some of my favorite videos you've made. I really love just seeing all this nature thriving in your yard.
These videos are some of the best you’ve ever done in my opinion. Amazing you were able to document all of this. Thank you.
We get those gray treefrogs every spring/summer, they mate by the pool and lay eggs on the winter cover since it has water on it. Anytime it is about to rain or has just rained, they go crazy. You can hear dozens of them in the backyard. I raised one from a tadpole a few years back. It was a fun experience. I release him when he was fully developed and out of the water.
Loving this little mini-series!
Native plants that are native to your area help drastically with erosion. Their roots tend to go deeper and they also usually grow better than their European counterparts
Thank you for this series! I hope you catch the birding bug, it is such a great passive hobby. With the ecosystem you’re building I’m sure there’s many more birds around than just the beautiful phoebes.
Always a pleasure watching these videos. Have a great weekend!
I really like this story telling format! It's so cool to see how these spaces you make really transform over time.
The pond is really coming along! I love the swing chair. What a great addition!
This is such a cool series. I just want you to know that all the hard work you put into these videos is well appreciated and truly entertaining for us viewers!
Its magical, i hope the babie birds will be ok. Youve done an amazing job, its going to look amazing when you finish it. Such a beautiful project
I look forward to seeing all your new pond plants fill in and grow. It's going to look very very good!
Wow Tanner another awesome video! Loving your writing!! Glad the Phoebe chicks made it and the frogs survived the dam not working as expected. Looking forward to whats next!
I have to say I just truly love your story telling I can feel how heart felt it is. 🥰🥰🥰
your voice is so calming and the content is so nice. Makers of nature documentary series shouldnt hesitate to hire you.
This is what CZcams was made for. Excellent series
This is fantastic, the pond updates are the highlight of my week.
Someone needs to write a love story about that lady frog trying to find her mate.
In the moonlit eve,
By a silver stream,
A quest for love did thus commence.
From meadows far,
O'er hills so green,
Came Lady Lilibet, fairest seen.
With tender care,
And heart so pure,
She sought a mate for offspring dear.
She spied a toad,
A lumpy toad,
Whom she did pass with but a sigh.
In silent grief, with longing heart,
She swam the waters deep and wide.
Who shall be the one to claim her heart, and sire her young with pride?
Upon a rock, steadfast and tall,
Stood Sir Ribbelot, brave and wise.
He caught her eye, yet still she pondered, might there be a better prize?
A fleeting glance at the grand Duke of Croakmoor,
And back she turned to Sir Ribbelot!
Good Sir, for this night and this night alone, my heart and hope rest upon thee!
@@aarushsaboo1194keep up the good work
she had STANDARDS 😂
The Duke got nothing on Sir Rib!
The pond is really shaping up! And I guess you can’t complain about lack of excercise with all that wheelbarrowing 😂❤️
Beautiful cinematography, wonderful story-telling. A masterful work of art. Really enjoyed this.
Gorgeous! This may be my favorite video yet. Can't wait for the next installment. 👍
Your videos are so well made, seeing your channel progress from just a few thousand subs has been wonderful to see. Keep up the good work and the wonderful content!
I just want to say, these videos are so nice and relaxing. I hope I have have a pond in my garden one day to support the local wildlife ♥️
Loving the evolution of this pond😍😍😍 it's amazing!
Love this series Tanner, stretch it out as long as you like!! 🐣🐸
I am thoroughly enjoying the peek into the flora and fauna at your home! 😄
I love what you’re creating! Seeing the pond and wildlife develop in and around it is so cool!!!
As much as I love watching your tank builds, they always give me ideas for my tanks, and I always love to see what you come up with. But this new pond series is everything! It's so calming and informative and just beautiful to watch it all unfold! I even went and rewatched the building of your pond last year just because it seemed like a good idea to see where it all started again. I can't wait to see where this goes in the following weeks! 🩶
deam bro, u really inspire me... I have seen u since 6 years ago and I can tell that you are an example of what discipline, passion, imagination, and hard work can do... Saludos y buens vibras desde CDMX. Take care and peace.✌🏽😸🌱
I love the diy builds but this pond series has been a great switch up from the content we were getting before. Letting creators experiment, explore and change their styles helps get us incredible stuff like this series. Thanks Tanner!
I love the evolution of your videos! For as long as you're uploading, I'll be watching along to see what you're up to :)
This is my favorite video series in a LONG time, amazing job
Loving this series. Not only is it inspiring in the DIY aspects, but it feels like a documentary and you really tell a great story about the wildlife and growth of the space.
Thank you for these detailed updates on The Serpa Pond Story. I'm loving all those froggies, and the good news about the second clutch of Phoebes! Your hard work is really paying off. Looking forward to the next installment.
So beautiful! I'm really looking forward to the next installment!
You are teaching everyone a VERY valuable lesson here....unpolluted water is essential to LIFE!
At the house where I grew up, we had a small pond which I absolutely loved. I specifically remember all the tadpoles (and that we caught a bucket full at a friend's home because there weren't any ponds in our area at that time). The emerging toads came back every year, and we also had green frogs. Your tree frogs are amazing!
Over the years, the pond became the home of plenty of dragonfly larvae. These hungry aliens decimated the tadpoles, and after years, there were less and less returning toads.
The species I probably loved the most were newts. We had Lissotriton vulgaris. (Do newts live in the states? I would presume so, as you also have salamanders). Newts are beautiful.
Today I live in an apartment building with no pond, not even a bucket on my balcony. Sigh. Your series helps me to reconnect.
Tanner, this series is beautiful! I feel like I’m watching a NatGeo Documentary. Stunning work all around.
This was incredibly calming and lovely to watch. Thank you
Wonderful. Really enjoying these updates. Keep 'em rollin'.
easily my favorite series. can't wait for more!
Loving this series of backyard updates!
This series is really awesome dude. What a masterful creation documenting an even more masterful creation!
i love the recaps with the little loading bar in these videos
I'm seriously loving these Days of Our Frog Lived series. 😁❤
Amazing! So wonderful seeing new life! I actually found a baby cardinal that I put back in it’s nest recently and it was incredible ❤
I just want to say that I can really feel how much effort you put into to each video, you are very inspiring, me and my other half have made a 100L aquarium scape that I bet you’d be proud of and we would never have thought of it if it wasn’t for you.
It’s so impressive what you do, all the time. (You need to add a join button, it’s just a normal thing to do now, no stigma)
I just love the way you present it all. The scenario: the fight and yet the harmony/balance of nature. Also the images; you are becoming a great professional in filming nature. I can guess this is very different than filming indoors as you did a lot in the past. Please keep up this good quality of presentation. Make sure you take some time to relax and enjoy your results too...
This series is so good!
I love your videos, Tanner. You’ve inspired me to make jarriums and terrariums and I continue to return to your videos to relax and be inspired.
What a nice video to wake up to! Love throwing this on while I sip on my coffee ☕️❤
This is a dream project, truly beautiful
My cat was very interested in this episode. She loved the bird and frog noises.
