Lutri is fun in historic, you get a loop with release with the wind (also, naru meha does the same). If you have an electrostatic field or a Ral, you deal infinite damage and you win. Or if you have the drowned secrets or diligent excavator you mill your opponent. Or niv mizzet and you do both. Or I don't know, pretty sure there are funnier way to abuse infinite instants casting, infinite creature entering the battlefield and infinite creature leaving the battlefield. But you have to switch to historic, and I hope you'll do it soon

Your comment about magic not being competitive is interesting, because it has been proven that a computer will never be able to calculate the most optimal play to make. They say that it's not that we need better computers to calculate it like they do with chess. Instead it's that magic is just so damn complicated that it is 100% impossible to come up with the optimal play. The game is officially considered to be more complicated than chess and has enough of a combo to make a basic computer using the paper cards.

    • @albertosartini
      @albertosartini Před 4 lety

@@RaijinStormWing lot of people however believe that competition is ruined by rng. I don't play any DotA, but I play a bit of smite, and when the developer implemented a little rng on just some minor skill, the competitive community got upset and no one wanted to play those character. I kinda understand why, it feels bad when you get completely screwed by how you shuffled your deck, and it feels even worse if the deck is shuffled by an algorithm. However, real life has a lot of rng, we just don't know the number and no one is able to actually told us. But no one would say that soccer isn't a competitive game, even if the way it's played has a lot of rng. Sure, by playing more you get used to it and you can try to make those numbers in your favor, but that's exactly like building a right deck in magic, which the proper land ratio and stuff like that, you can change probability.

I think the problem right now is the fast Mana. Magic is based on the fact that you can play a land per turn. But in standard there are a lot of stuff that increase the amount of mana you can have, by a lot and in an efficient way. Also, llanowar elves were better than uro and Nissa and reclamation and fires and kinnan and all the gang, because you could kill the elf pretty easily. I mean turn 1 elf vs turn 1 shock seems fair. Also, top decking a uro on turn 8 or so, it's fine. Top decking an elf on turn 8 is awkward. Wish there were more elves vs bolt battle than embercleave vs 5 planeswalker. Also, those fucking Planeswalker are completely out of any sense right now. Wizards printed an expansion about giant monster and not a single competitive deck use one of the five Apex. Those five are really just for draft. Because Planeswalker Dodge removals better, generate more value and save you some life.

TBH I think the relative broken-ness of standard right now is due to the combination of several cards from several sets. Lurrus + priest of forgotten gods, thassa + agent, literally every blink card from eldraine and also thassa plus agent, and yorion on top of the pile. Playing the Arena event that was pure ikoria decks a few days ago was really nice, seems like Wizards can handle balancing the individual sets but forgets to take into account the rest of standard when they plan em.

But even with the now banned Oko and Veil, that combo still didn't even come close to the versions that ran agent and a butt-ton of ramp.

Senpai-kun, I hate to call on your inconsistencies, but you are the same play that called Dovins Veto maindeck a terrible mistake.
    What changed?

I beat yorian frequently without using the meta... so, why is it ‘top tier?’

    • @bobmcguffin9028

Due to the 'power creep syndrome' applied to MTG, the only good cards now (competitively 'top tier' speaking) are 2-for-1. Meaning you get 2 useful things/effects out of 1 card.
ETB(permanents that have an Enter The Battlefield effect) are in essence 2-for-1 since you get a permanent with an effect.
Yorion blinks them, so now they become 3-for-1 or sometimes even better like with Elspeth Conquers Death.
Yorion basically 'doubles' the value of such cards. And even though there are various factors to consider, you pretty much get the high ground and closer to victory if you can 'outvalue' your opponent. Articuno does that, that's why he's considered really good.
Also, Azorius is likely the strongest 2 colors combination at the moment.

You get no benefit out of blinking Nissa and Uro with Yorion...Blinking Nissa takes you further away from ulting her and blinking Uro loses you a 6/6 creature that you had to exile 5 cards to get on the board.

    • @bobmcguffin9028

@@BudgetNugs exactly. Azorius decks tend to take longer to close games. Here it was essentially Omen of the Sun tokens, so imagine if opponent somehow climbed to 100 HP....
Divine Visitation could have made it better. Or Angelic Exaltation assuming you remove all blockers before the final swing. Kiora Bests the Sea God is also insane if you can pull it off with Yorion. But a 4/5 flyer should be enough on its own. Remember Azorius control won the Mythic Championship tournament with only one (might have been two) Dream Trawler main deck.
When you can control the board it doesn't really matter if you just have tokens.

You are always very funny, but during this release I've been really disappointed in your videos. You played mutate without learning how to even use it... and now you are playing a "companion deck' with no companion. You don't put four copies of it in the deck... That's not how it works....

When you speak so much with your heavy accent, it gets kind of tiring and annoying. It was better when you started your channel and you used to speak every now and then. You cant be talking non-stop for the whole video. You keep talking for 50 plus minutes straights and it gets very very annoying since you keep repeating the same cheap jokes and the same “enemy con” and “bois” stuff. Take a break for a few minutes talking dude, it is very distracting. Unsubscribed. Ive been following you since you had like 3k subscribers or so.
