My mama always said that it’s better to buy a quality basic piece of clothing than wasting money every year trying to be trendy!!
Your mother is spot on 👍
Classics can be trendy.... just all in how you style your clothes.
Depends how much $ you have and how well your clothes survives washing and drying 😄
@@terrie7814 Fashion trends make money for the designer -- and the slick social media niches.
Agree!!
The mesh ones look like shower shoes. I just can't unsee that.
The plastic ones too!
"have fun with that" is the best reaction to the mesh footwear trend😂😂
I honestly and truly hope someone does have fun with it 🤣🤣 It just won’t be me tho! ❤️
I feel like we did this once, long ago, and I don't remember how it looked, only that it caused pain...
I am!!! I love them, they are super comfortable and looks so cute with long skirts. Out of all trends this year for me this was the one I love the most 😍
@@luciebradley7150 Same.
And to make it make sense : Your feet won't get more dirty, than in flip-flops... They are just a little more comfortable and elevated in my opinion 🙂
The toeless boots on the other hand... What?? 🤔 Too warm and too cold at the same time..🤪
In 100 degree heat, mesh is the way to go.
Slingbacks never left my feet! Open toe boots? Never!
Same here. Love them
Same here 😂 I still have open toe boots!! 🎉
I will keep wearing my Golden Goose sneakers, as a matter of fact I’m thinking about getting a new pair
I am at an age where I don’t pay attention to trends as much as I used to do years ago, now I wear comfortable well styled outfits, nice accessories and that’s it
I understand your willingness to keep wearing the golden goose, no matter how ridiculous they look! They cost A LOT of money! 👍🏼
GG has some clean-looking shoes too 😁, as I said I am ordering new ones used looking style, 😁😁 to each their own, yes they are expensive not denied, I was at the store (Dallas) one month ago and it was bursting with people buying.
I agree. However mine are basically just white. One pair does have a little animal print on the heel. They are comfortable for me.
I see people wearing Golden Goose sneakers, especially here in NYC.
I just purchased a new pair of golden goose running shoes, I will be wearing them proudly 😊
I love the lower heel trend. My knees aren’t what they used to be, and cute low heels or flats are so welcome!
You're so right about that! It's also nice for taller ladies too so we aren't towering over everyone 😂
Yes I love low heels too and there are some really nice ones out there. I tore my acl years ago and I like how it feels so I don’t want do anything that can cause me knee pain lol
@@andrearace1168yes I’ve been 6’1 since I was 13 and my mom would only by kitten heels and sling backs now I’m buying willingly buying them
Hot glue some raffia onto your cork wedges and get a few more years out of them great videos Anna
I was literally just thinking "I wonder if I could just glue some rafia..."! LOL
I think the cork wedges still look great when styled with other current pieces! ❤️
@@ANNAREID29 like you said in the video if you still love something keep wearing it I'll never go back to high heels again now 🥰
Unless someone is particularly staring at your shoes, it would probably be quite hard to distinguish between cork and rafia. My cork wedgies are safe!
I was thinking that too! I’m not very crafty though. I ❤ my cork wedges!!
This is what I learned: you know you're old when every shoe trend you see you've seen come and go at least 4 times. Anna, there are no new shoes under the sun anymore. Bottom line: wear what you love.
Been there, done that
On all styles including shoes
I am not letting go of the braided sandals! That was one of my favorite trends because the straps are so padded and comfortable
Good!!! I think they're so cute and have a pair myself. I also think they're classy because they rely on texture rather than brand.
I feel like they fall under a "classic/timeless" piece 🤷🏼♀️
I think the slingbacks are the goat! They can be cute, elegant, or just comfy. For me, they'll never go out of style!
IMO slingbacks are a classic style, not a trend.
I love the sling back and kitten heels
Me too!
Your microwave is easy to clean. Take a mug, half a cup of water and a quarter cup of white vinegar. Put in your microwave and zap on high for 4 and a half to 5 minutes. When it's done just wipe the inside of the microwave down and you're done.
Nothing is "out of style" Ladies and Gentlemen. Wear what makes you feel good! Following trends is ridiculous. Just be you.
We like to add a couple of trendy things to our wardrobe, not going to get things I we don’t like…
Always love clogs! I’m still a 70s teen at heart in this respect. Glad heel lengths are going down. Some of us can’t walk with grace or poise in stilettos 👠
Just got a pair of heeled clog sandals with studs from m and spencer, very 70s looking
I will never stop wearing Golden Goose. They are so comfortable and have molded to my feet. They will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. I do prefer the neutral color ways
Same! ❤
Same! I have a fun pair and a neutral pair and the most comfortable even when my plantar fasciitis is bothering me I can wear them for hours
SAME!!! Love my golden goose sneakers.
👍👍👍👍
Just brought my second pair of Golden Goose! 💕 They are comfortable and have a great insole giving you 2 cm of height
I think the dupes of the Golden Goose star sneakers are out of style and look dated, but some of the authentic Golden Goose star sneakers are still in and look stylish.
I think they can all be restyled to look great! ❤️
Saved for two years for my golden goose tennies most comfy shoes I own other than my Birkenstocks so out or not I’m sporting them till they fall of my feet☺️
Love my GG tennis shoes ❤
I love when I watch one of your videos and find out that I own something that is in style!!!!
So happy to see kitten heels back! Always thought they were feminine but easier to walk in than the 6 inch pump.
I’ll still be wearing my Golden Goose trainers. They’re so comfortable!
So glad that the platform stiletto heels are finally gone. I'm ready to see a more classic look.
This 68 year old with size 11.5 feet will continue to wear her white New Balance, Nike Air Force 1s and Adidas when I go out, and Crocs and Easy Spirit metallic Travelport clogs around the house. Stylish jeans, French chic clothing, a nice button down, linen trousers, even dresses go well with clean white sneakers. If i had to go to a wedding I'd look for a silver slingback kitten heel (but probably wouldn't find one in my size, sadly).
I appreciate that your fashion sense is combined with common sense, Anna! Thank you.
I will never throw away my $150+ Tory Burch sandals. I own many many pairs and live in them 8 months out of the year in AZ
I never liked the Golden Goose sneakers (especially the pre-dirtied ones), nor the Rock Star studded shoes, I knew they were faddish. I try to buy modern, but still essentially classic, footwear in genuine leather, then I keep them forever (if they’re comfortable). Most styles come back in eventually. When chunky boots came back on trend a year ago, I already had perfect, high-quality pairs in several colors. They are indistinguishable from the current offerings, so why buy new? Plus, they were broken-in years ago, no adjustment period or tweaks needed. Thanks for your video, Anna, I always enjoy yours and they help keep me up-to-date. My style is very classic, so I need to add some current touches, updated (but not too faddish) footwear is one easy, if pricey, way to do this.❤
I too have had shoes for years. Some I wore out were actually in style recently and my old ones were so comfortable. I’m just going to continue wearing the comfy footwear I own already. I too buy leather and look after it. It’s not often that they wear out.
So true! My fav look is classic with a trend twist 😁❤️
I can dirty my own sneakers for free!
I also love the slingbacks for same reason and will wear them when not in style. I cannot wear pumps.
Same! I find them much more comfortable ❤️
Low heels, yes, thank you ❤ kitten heels, slingbacks ❤ fantastic 👏 I'm happy 😊
Love a kitten heel, classic loafer, sling back shoe. No to the birkie open top boot, mesh shoe.
Nothing is out of style,, is ONLY marketing, I save my money and invest in interesting things and projects
Ever since I discovered you, my style has changed for the better!! Thanks for putting out videos about styles, suggestions, trends. Love that in the pictures of examples you always include different sizes of body from thin to plus…..fabulously inclusive!! ❤️
I love sling backs and those updated wedges are really cute!
Excellent video! Shoes can make or break your outfit. I’m so excited for Spring so I can freshen up the wardrobe.
The raffia shoes I am excited about and was happy to see them on your list as more in style now.
Thank you for the video! I like the esparaell sandals and wedges.
I love how nice you are about the items that are “out”. You’re adorable! Thanks for the info!
At 6’1” I’m all about the flats!😂. Love the white shoes-so pretty with a tan!
And this is why following trends is such a waste of money! And for someone who is definitely not rich, buying shoes or clothes that you can’t wear the next year is crazy. I live in Seattle, our summers are pretty short so I don’t get much wear out of my sandals so I’d rather buy something current but not trendy! Also, just my opinion, kitten heels and sling backs are classics. They’ll never really go away.
That's what I said - you'll never look dated in kitten heels, slingbacks or ballet flats. Timeless.
Love seeing all the shoes what’s in & out! Definitely like the lower heel look. I purchased the sandals from TKees I couldn’t find them last year. Thank you!! 😊❤️
Excited about low heels - a heel I can finally walk in for a few hours. And slingbacks!
I think Cork just makes so much sense regionally, in warm places like Florida or Texas. To me they are timeless, and I hadn't even considered them a "trend".
love you spread common sense, like some trends don't make sense. thank you !
I can’t wear flip flops anymore except to the beach. They cause problems with the outer part of my foot. It almost feels like having a stress fracture developing because of them. Also open toe boots? A boot serves a purpose. Putting a hole in the toe defeats it. Anyway, I do love the fact that flats and low heeled shoes are in. I love those shoes! Thanks Anna, for all the great content in this video!❤
I know so many people who can’t wear flip flops you are not alone! ❤️❤️
Also, the can give you plantar fasciitis.
I agree with you 100% on the mesh shoes and open toe boots. ❤
Yes!!! Would love to hear more.
I am happy to see flatter shoes back!
Hi Anna " makes sense", I'm with you with some of these off the wall shoes. I do love some of the new trends, low heels but not so much the absolute flat heel, I need some arch comfort. Thank you for your reviews on these shoes, it helps with my shopping this week.
Thank you for the advice I love the edge small heel.
Great video! Looks like investing in classic pieces is the best way forward for maintaining a healthy budget!
I kept my open toes booties and am happy to hear that they are back in.I have loved wearing them even when they were out of style. 😊
Thanks, Anna! I ordered a pair of the Tkees sandals on your recommendation as your favorites. I also wear size 10. I hope they look as cute on me as they do on you.
Your so on point with your ins and outs 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Looking forward to wearing my mules!!!
Ballet flats and slingbacks are for me. I completely agree with you about the open toe boots, they seem somewhat pointless. 🙂
So looking fwd for the heavy rains to end here in Southern California so I can get back to wearing sandals and flats! Arent open toed boots like wearing sleeveless turtleneck sweaters 🤣?
Maybe! Except here in fl the sleeveless turtle neck works great! Open toe boots not so much ❤️🤣
Exactly!! Or knee-length ski pants or a sleeveless parka. They look a bit like something you should really be wearing in the privacy of your own home... 🤭
I love the mesh shoes for summer; they will keep you so cool!
Anna, a perfect poolside/beach flipflop I have to admit spills over into my grocery trips or casual store trolling here in Tx is the T-strap from Third Oak. I got my first pair from JCrew years ago. Phenomenally comfortable shoe! The t-strap looks slightly elevated and they are completely indestructible. Worth the look!
No to mesh and open toe boot. I love my Birks and low heel flats. Thanks for the video! ❤
I love my Birkenstock’s, in style or out, I’ll always wear them ❤
This is the first time I've seen your reviews. Loved it.
Love the sling back come back
Thank you. Love your vlogs!
I have a couple of pairs of braided sandals, and I plan on wearing them a lot. They were the most comfortable shoes ever! Clogs, not so much.
I'm always looking for nude slingback sandal heels. Can't find them ever and they're so classic!
I love slingbacks and Mary Jane shoes.
Hi Anna, another great video 🤗 I've got a fab hack for sore heels... when you buy them new rub some hard soap around the offending part of the heel material (usually right at the top of the inside of the shoe back) this stops the material rubbing and making your ankle heels sore and it also makes your feet smell nice too!☺ So glad that the stiletto's are gone! I never bothered with the neon or weaved styles as my feet are not small either (US 9 EU40) But the mesh trend is one I will miss!! Back when I was naive in the way of fashion I had a pair of mesh sandal shoe things they KILLED my feet SOOO UNCOMFORTABLE !!! I only wore them once then hid them away forever!! The other ones that are memorable for all the wrong reasons are those sandals that lace up to your knees HORRENDOUS!! So pleased that flats are back in I will be going for my summer staples gold and silver leather matallics ... they go with everything n just add cute metallic bag and done!
Going to try the soap! I usually try to file the offending edge with a nail file. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But I can see the soap giving some glide!
Flat shoes look better on tall girls - models. I like the Steve Madden Birkenstock knockoffs & low heels.
Thanks for the hack! I ah rnt heard that one and will give that a try! ❤️❤️
Thanks for that soap hack! Another good hack, is buy the tiny travel size Vaseline, keep it in your purse, for when you feel rubbing and a potential blister. Rub it on that area, and it stops the friction. This has saved me many times with a new pair of strappy sandals, rubbing my baby toe.
I just purchased a pair of the Steven Madden “Golden Goose” inspired genuine leather runners is soft gold metallic, with an embossed point star on the side, that look so trendy with the metallic gold, so I will definitely sport them this Spring & Summer :)
Looking forward to sling backs and the rafia wedges
I love your honesty
Love the mesh footwear. It’s so breathable, comfortable & forgiving! And if it rains, enjoy it! Your feet dries out so quickly! Bought several pairs & I do not regret them one bit😂
Awesome! Thanks 💓
I work in the medical field and have LOVED the dansko clogs. The best thing is that they now offer all kinds of wedges, sandals and other types that have the same arch support and wearability as their medical/professional clog. I have clogs, wedges and sandals, and have had many compliments on my shoes!
Great advice! I got the Aerosoles " Camera" sandal in the silver metallic! I'm now considering the denim pair!
Sling backs foreva!
I love the sandals with a buckle! I also agree with you on the Golden Goose. I am not a fan. Thanks for this great video!
Thanks for the video!
I love how you also gave us the other option to wear
Thank you! Love the slouch boots No to mesh shoes, open toe boots. I wear Fly London. They check all of the boxes!!!
I’ve never tried those! ❤️❤️
I love the clog heels you have!! So cute!
Thank you...lovely ideas!!!xxx❤
Mesh was unique before now yes I would pull them in spring season look beautiful especially in easter especially the net mesh .
The mesh shoes remind me of shoes kids wear to the pool or beach haha love the slouchy boots though!
I’m all for the flats!!
Chanel slingbacks for life ❤😅 so glad they’re on trend now but I wear them regardless
I love beautiful, classic loafers
I love white footwear, I’ve been searching for it for years. White sandals, especially are very 70s, the current decade of fashion trends and inspiration. I’ve been looking for a pair since about 2020!
I will never give up my Golden Goose!!!! They are soooo comfy, even right out of the box. I did clean mine up some, and they never were the heavily deconstructed, extremely dirty ones to begin with, so I think I can still wear them without looking too dated.
I wear what I like and omdortable. In my 70's it's still Birkies, Daniel and Vionics. I know my size, the style I can wear and stick to them. Love Daniel came out with red sparkle ones. Yes, for me!!!!
I'm thrilled about the slingbacks and kitten heels- they're so easy to wear! The mesh shoes look interesting from a summertime ventilation point of view, but all I can think about is that they'll rip at some point, and that won't be fabulous.
I just got some super comfy Birkenstock inspired sandals made by UGG and I love them! I’ve had them on my feet every day! ❤
The vintage New Balance sneakers are amazing. I'm buying another pair this year for sure.
Never was able to wear high heels 👠 I tripped over every single time😅. Loving this season 👟 trends
I just bought two pairs of Sam Edelman flats, yay! Love sling backs and Birks. Thanks for the info!
I’m going to try the ballet slipper tennis shoes.
Love the mesh shoes!
I’m drawn to flat mules of all colours The highest heel I will wear is about 2 inches but for running around doing errands etc the flats are my go to.
I bought those Aerosole Camera shoes and love them!
I’ve also noticed a lot of denim footwear, footwear with embellishments and high heeled mules like the Stuart Weitzman ones. Great video!
First time viewer - and I love that you shared your shoe size. I wear a 12 and am so self conscious about it - not to mention they are super hard to find!
I collect flat sandals with big bows in the front!
I never participated in the open toe boot style and I am standing by that! 😊 Loved this video, thank you! Appreciate all the links!
