I never in my life thought "yeah, they should bring back Bubble Bass" his one speaking role in Pickles was more than enough for a life time.
Yeah, I could deal with him in the one SpongeBob episode Plankton’s Good Eye, and those two lil cameos in season 1, but COME ON PEOPLE, this is just overkill. He was a one off character, that they bring back for no reason other than they’re running out of ideas.

Ngl, the Slappy character design works so much better if it appears in Looney Tunes, if done right. Not only it would be a callback to the similar face that we saw in the 1940s cartoons, but he would also be a recurring character if he was in the same show as Daffy or Porky. Edit: So the guy’s name is Peter Lorre and I still think that Slappy will work on Looney Tunes, like he could be Lorre’s fictional son and have some fun with Porky and Daffy.

Watching modern spongebob literally hurts. It's so exaggerated and over the top.. it feels like a spongebob spin off specifically marketed at toddlers
It's probably not healthy for toddlers to see too many over the place jump cuts. More slow paced stuff is probably better. Their brain is still developing, and logical stories where everything follows is probably better than constant change that doesn't really follow.

It was alright after that it's more the season that came after the other ended after the first movie or rather said after the episode of SpongeBob needing to find a new job. It went so cursed and downhill after that episode. Man I'm still having nightmares of them practically skinning squidward while he was unconscious

To be honest i just love this episode for the dynamic between Plankton and Karen, it's great to see them as a couple and even have fun while both unleash evil mayhem in the dance floor, also I adore the expresiveness on Karen, varying from the wavelength, some square eyes here and there, it's just fun

Nick stripped all of that, the humor, and anything that made those old episodes so rewatchable and timeless. If they had to dumb down the show THIS much just to appeal to a newer generation, that says alot about kids nowadays. Exaggerated facial expressions, body movements and noises wasn't supposed to become peak humor.

@@chrislife1101 SpongeBob was always intended for kids and still is. Adults could enjoy the old episodes if they wanted to but it was always strictly for kids. The show did change and has a different feel because audiences have changing interests with the newer generations but it’s still the SAME show as it was before. Kids aren’t that much different now, and everything that people point about these new episodes have been in SpongeBob and other shows for years. It’s not that the show was made worse, it’s that you’re old now and it isn’t for you anymore.
@@quangamershyguyyz7166 old SpongeBob had alot of adult humor hidden within it. The early season episodes had good stories with funny punchlines to it. Everything felt more original and as if effort was actually put into the episodes plot, whereas these newer episodes feel lazy, many newer characters introduced, then reused in the background and tend to have very little personality to them along with the other older characters. They all just depend on exaggerated expressions and acting dumb to carry the scene. The writing just isn't as good as it used to be. SpongeBob has heavily dipped in quality since the old days. As much as you want to make the argument that Ive outgrown the show , the adults who watched SpongeBob back in the earlier seasons never had this issue. Infact they enjoyed it. The show never felt like it was made to appeal to infants like it does now

I'm not sure how old you are or if you were able to experience watching the show through seasons 1-5. Even the first movie didn't feel like strictly a kids movie. But If you didnt grow up on the earlier seasons without the exposure of the newer seasons, for a period of time, that may be the reason why you just can't see the decline in the modern episodes

SpongeBob is in fact just about 4 years older than Pearl. He was born in 1986 while Pearl seems to be born in 1990 (because the episode "a whale of a birthday" in which Pearl's celebrating her 16th birthday was released in 2006)

im ngl i havent watched really any new spongebob since 2012-13, seeing the episodes now and hearing people talking about the constant prevalence of characters like slappy (who tf???) is so jarring to me. also i don’t really see other people mention it, but it’s really uncomfortable to me how much more exaggerated the animation constantly is in the new episodes, like everybody is too overly expressive when you didnt see a whole lot of that back in the 2000s seasons. it makes it hard for me to want to sit down and watch it. sure its a common animation style in other shows but it feels weird with Spongebob
