      Felix T you have the same windscreen smoked givi one? Do you find it worth it and better than the stoke? Is it higher?

    • @mrd7341
      @mrd7341 Před 5 lety +1

      @Mike Warnes: yes I have exactly the same one. I think it's well worth the money. I'm 184cm and with the Givi you have much less wind at the arms and head because it is wider and the top of it is not flat but slightly curved so the wind is directed upwards. Keep in mind you need about 0.3-0.5l/100km more fuel when using the screen. I hope that helps =)

    Looks amazing. Personally I disagree with u on the engine bars I think they make the bike look a bit meaner :) would u know if the sports screen would fit the 2017 model and where is the best place to pick one of these screens up?

  • @Moto_Mikey

    @skyrider Hey man. I'm looking at buying the givi screen. Is it better than the stock windscreen? Higher? Honest thoughts?

    The Givi crash bars give it an adventure bike look and may help protect the engine in case you go down. Nice set up on your bike.

      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety

      chuckasaki thanks buddy I know the bars are quite functional in that sense but would rather not have them if the lights can be mounted otherwise. It's a bit too chunky that's all.

    I'm also thinking of getting the Givi screen. Does it allow full lock? Is it much quieter than the awful standard one? Also, how tall are you?

  • @LenScapoff
    @LenScapoff Před 7 lety +1

    I like the additions, particularly the screen which looks way better than stock. All nicely colour co-ordinated, too (apart from the stock gold forks - what's with the passion of manufacturers for gold forks these days?)

    Hi, very nice bike :)
    I'm thinking of it myself. Have a question about speed wobble. Do you experience any? Many people do when riding with 140-190km/h, so that are my worries...

    • @mrd7341
      @mrd7341 Před 5 lety

      @Pawel Borek: I have a 2015 model and it starts when riding >185km/h ... the newer models have a 5cm longer swingarm to get rid of it (Yamaha statement)

    Can you think of other rivals for this bike? I'm sort of in the position you were in except I'm on a restricted 650 vstrom (same power as the cb) and looking for a faster (obviously) more sporty upgrade. I will be able to test ride end of next month and I've been looking at the Kawasaki z1000sx as it's plenty fast enough, relatively comfy, takes luggage for long trips and should handle well. I also don't want a big heavy adventure bike as I'm after a lighter sporty ride, although the multistrada would be great ;) I just wouldn't trust it being left for weeks on end not being touched.

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety +1

      Scot Wilson Hi Scot try out as many different bikes as possible and don't just go by other people's reviews. Triumph Tiger 800 or even Tiger sport 1050 would be a good choice. Ducati is doing a baby multistrada and honda's Africa twin is also quite nice. If I had the height and money I'd go for a BMW S1000XR as it does everything well.

    The crashbars won't be "overkill" if you ever lay the bike over. You'll be very glad they're there.

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety

      I know it serves a functional purpose but I'm still trying to get used to the 'bulk'.

    You have seen the v56 top case?
    I am between the v47 and the v56 for my tracer 900.What case should i choose?
    I only use for touring

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety

      Get the biggest one you can afford. The 56 won't be that much bigger than a 47.

  • @timhickey9898

    Does the new exhaust give you much more power and did you change the air filter as well?

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety

      Tim Hickey Hi Tim I was told it's not required as it's only a slip on but would need to re tune if it's a full system. Anyway I couldn't notice any power difference but the fuel consumption definitely got worse. I reckon it's because I'm revving it more now in traffic.

    How's the screen in terms of wind protection and buffeting?

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety +1

      Drew Walker much better than the stock screen in both aspects but it doesn't perform as well as the tall Yamaha screen. Obviously I can only compare these three screens I've tried but the tall Yamaha one is quite ugly.

  • @applecorp
    @applecorp Před 6 lety

    How do you find that screen for wind blast or buffeting? I'm looking at getting a Tracer 900 (2016) but thought the stock screen was terrible when I test rode it.

    • @mrd7341
      @mrd7341 Před 5 lety

      @applecorp: The Givi screen is well worth the money ... on the 2018 Models they even changed it to something like the Givi screen as standard ;)

    • @applecorp
      @applecorp Před 5 lety

      Indeed, I had a test ride on the 2018 model and the screen is an improvement, still get a lot of wind noise on the top of my helmet but that would easily be fixed with a £20 screen extension from ebay. On the previous models the screen lets a lot of wind in from the sides as well but this Givi would solve that. Shame it only comes in smoke, I'd prefer clear.

  • @deresnabo5005
    @deresnabo5005 Před 7 lety

    how much did you pay for the slip on?

    • @SkyRider365
      @SkyRider365  Před 7 lety

      Deres Nabo about £329 for the exhaust but normally you'd pay at least half an hour labour rate for the garage to fit it. However mine was fitted free of charge by Ford and Ellis in Chesham (a Suzuki dealer) and they also fitted the Givi engine bars and LED lights for free. I mean the labour cost of course.

    You should change the position you have put your givi plastic slider.!! It's useless where you place them! Put them at the top bar of your bar protection! Be safe...!!!
