- Brazil has been hit by the worst drought in decades affecting coffee farmers, who might see their production shrink to its lowest in more than 30 years. Because of the dry spell, coffee prices all over the world could get higher. Brazil is the world's largest producer of coffee, growing nearly 40 percent of the world's annual supply. Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds reports from a coffee farm in Minas Gerais.
Whats the surprise here? They always aim for a limited production, and if they accidentally produce more, they burn the extra to keep the price going up.
