    I needed something that would connect my cameras external mic to my iMac, so I could do smoother voice overs and not have shitty audio. This is the first product to genuinely work, it’s fairly cheap but it works. Thank you. And to anybody reading this, if this is what you’re trying to do, this is worth it.

    This helped a lot because I wanted to use the mic for the canon t7 rebel but it had an internal mic and it was too late to return it but now it has a good use for voice acting and songs so thank you very much

    Man this really brings me back I remember buying one of those things like 20 years ago when I started gaming! Now I just want to use my DSLR and shotgun mic for zoom calls and my sony software won't pass through the audio so I have to do this. Thanks for the direct advice!

I've been struggling with audio jack splitter, all I need is USB soundcard, genius!!! Do you happen to know how to check if my external mic is working with my phone thou? I'm using audio jack splitter for phone since I've yet to figure out otherwise lol

      @@SocialMediaHowTo Sadly I did not - I tried different platforms and the best was the local mac recording software and just enhancing it. I ended up returning the card and just recording audio with a blue yeti.

    I've followed you video to a T but I'm having issues with the overall microphone volume. It's like I need a amp or something. The levels are set to 100 but the recorded audio comes in quite low. Any ideas to fix this?

      SAME. I can adjust the sound in audacity, but the mic itself is so low.

    hi, how do you increase the mic gain for the video mic go though?I have the sound card, but placing it about arms length away from the webcam view sounds pretty low. the only placement is if i speak so close to it. thanks!

    For some reason it works in System/Audio but not in OBS itself. Did you have to setup the Rode connect program?

    Not sure about the quality on the soundcard. I bought one and it crackles but it does solve the issue

    I have a sound card like this. might be the same one. I open OBS, plug in the card with nothing attached and my mic gain in OBS goes half way up with feedback. I am guessing its defective sound card huh?

    my videomic go is plugged via jack right into my motherboard as mic, it works fairly well but the sound is very quiet and has static noise. Will an usb soundcard fix theese issues?

I was exactly looking to find out how I can repurpose my vid mic Rhode into a more versatile application such as zoom meetings or podcasting or even Vlog or video content creation from my mac. Question: I'm looking for an arm just like yours attached to a desk but what attachment should I be looking for that connects with the Mic's attachment. Does this come standard with the arm?       Yes! I believe the arm does come with a screw that you can use to attach the mic.

    So turns out the reason for this is that SOME computers don't use the 3.5mm jack as output, there is no voltage going out and the mic doesn't have any other power supply

    Hey fella, I did this and it works but the micro RODE barely picks up any audio (unless i'm right next to the thing)
    Is there a way to boast the power or up the volume beyond the max in sound properties?

    I have a Hewlett-Packard 6 months old and the video Rode video Mic pro. The laptop has a microphone port.I tried pluging it directly into the laptop wirhout the adapter yiu talked about. Do I still need the adapter even though my computer is pretty new? I could not get it to work.

      Yes you would still meed an adapater. Unfortunately, your aux port doesn’t have a built in sound card.

    I did connect my Rode Videomic go to my computer using an audio usb adapter (not looks like your sound card), it connected but the volume input is too low. Is that because I didn't use the sound card like yours?

      I believe rode nt1 uses an xlr cable so you’d need an audio interface!
