I cannot get enough of your content. Thank you a thousand times over. I love your energy levels I'm on the spectrum, basically Asperger's. But it comes off as ADHD, We definitely have the same special interest. I'm working on archiving many cannabis cultivars I'm here in Colorado. My goal is to do meristem on every high-end genetic we come across, I have a small dedicated facility spainting three bedrooms in a five bedroom home, and the production facility is about 3,000 ft² indoors, all medical. I'm not sure where you're based out of, but it would be cool to compare notes sometime. Also, looking to get a nursery license out here for fruit trees. Looking to use some of the techniques to establish multivariety fruit trees on known root stocks. Grafting 25+ fruits onto one root stock. I think it would make a pretty neat business.
Watching what you're doing and reading, rather than listening to a narrated explanation, make the nitty gritty details easier for me to process. Definitely would watch four of these a month.
I was initially looking for some TC info, but stayed for your sense of humor 🤣

This is a subject very interesting for me. I have some plants that I'd love to multiply. However, my germination attempts failed due to the too cold climate in Germany. If you are starting your open source project please give me a note.

You also mentioned one thing briefly, which I had also been wondering about, generating mutations to possibly create new plants. If it's in the realm of possibility, would be be great to get some more info on ways you can use TC for cross-breeding, creating mutations, etc.

I'd love to see a video on the topic of different way to intentionally induce mutations or even polyploidy. While I'd guess there are alot of cannabis focused people interested in that, I'm interested it it in relation to regular plants, vines, fruit trees, etc. Also a video on tissue culturing trees vs house plants. I'd assume they are very different approaches.

Thanks for the vids. What is is about Fluval stratum that folks like for hardening off young plants? We've used it in the aquatic plant/aquascape world for years too. Cheers from up the road a bit near the borderlands.

So I made the jump into TC and I made my first batch of media in a pressure cooker. That was about a month ago. I'm afraid to start introducing my first explants. Any advice before I start?
Sterilize everything as much as possible! And accept that some things are going to get contaminated :)

Me too, I've done it before, but to be successful you really have to keep everything clean to keep contamination out of everything, ideally better than hospital clean...
And honestly I'm more like Oscar Madison then Felix so.... Not so bad that I'm culturing things where cultures don't belong.. but bad enough that things that grow aren't the ones I want...

@@kawthar-labworkin one of her other videos, she shows how to make a poor man's laminar flow Hood, it's not really a flow hood, it's just a sterile field.
If you have the ability to set aside a room for this hobby, and 90% of the way there. I recommend painting the room with gloss paint. Limit as much air exchange is possible to what can go through filters. HEPA filters if you can afford them. Then keeping that room is clean as possible will make everything else so much easier...
The previous owner of my house tried to install his own solar hot water system that leaked and filled the walls with mold, the roof was repaired but nobody noticed the inside of the walls during inspection because, well, inspection doesn't mean you tear down the walls to check inside... Anyway I got a lot of mess and sheetrock and mold , it'll be a little while before I have a reasonably clean room and I can share in this hobby.
I'm sure you'll have better luck than I've been having!

With all the return to the Moon stuff and Elon musk's hope's for Mars, nobody seems to realize that plant culture is a lot more important of a skill-set then setting up solar cells if any off-world humans are going to be in any way self sufficient!

What do you think of liverwort? I would imagine it would have much better texture then farming an algae ball, and a lot more efficient and forgiving than crops in culture...
I only just thought of this, what do you know about liverwort? Is it as easy to grow in culture as I would imagine? What about edibility, flavor , nutrition and potential medicinal uses? Does it grow faster than regular plants and does anything grow faster than it?

Out of curiosity do you have a background in bio or microbio? I can't help but notice so many parallels between your sterile technique/use of protocols/the way you write your concentrations (mg/L) that reminds me of my college microbio classes!

Props on getting those camera settings sorted! If you still having qualms about the quality of the video, I think you're render settings are a little harsh on the compression - or it could just be youtube being a fucking nightmare
