If it's similar to the 3L EcoDiesel, the break-in period was nearly 15000 miles. Only then was the fuel consumption readings pretty accurate. Before that, I saw the same variant that you were seeing, approx. 2mpg less until fully "broken in."

Just bought the truck of my dreams, watched all your videos and had to pull the trigger. Basically your truck with bed liner and steps. 👍🏼

PNWreckage Big Horne with sport appearance seemed more in my best "liked" price range but after weighing options the Laramie just seems so much better. Thanks for the informational content, I think it helps people in the market but on the fence of what they want to buy, like me.

I for one was actually surprised yours is not very accurate, I just rolled over 5000 miles and have compared my trip meter mpg to hand calculations about 10 times and it is usually within 2 tenths, the most mine has been off is half a MPG. I do have the G56 but I wouldn't think that should make a difference.

+Bob Whalen I'm surprised to hear so many people report theirs being accurate!

wait but didn,t you get slightly larger tires so your mileage would be electronically clocked but you gas mileage would be decreased right?

I don't know why I'm focusing on MPG figures so much, it's confusing me on what truck to buy. Really, I should be focusing on COST per mile. I've been ready to purchase for 4 months now, but can't decide between a Ram 2500 Cummins, Ecodiesel 1500, or Titan XD Cummins. I drive mostly in the suburbs but I do have a 22' 5th wheel (as small a 5th wheel as you can get at 4700lbs dry). Argh!

+golforfishing sounds like you just made some progress! I would advise against the ED given the other two Cummins candidates. I do not trust that engine like I would the other two. I made a video about why I didn't buy the XD if you're interested.

Yes, I watched your Titan videos, thank you. After much reflecting, it comes to me that the Ram 2500 is the only tried-and-true real truck, of the 3 choices mentioned above. Maybe I hesitate because of its size. I only use my small 5th wheel 6-8 times per year, and occasionally drive into the big city of Toronto, terrible traffic. Those are the 2 reasons holding me back from it. But the 2500 does whisper to me with irresistible temptation.

+golforfishing lmao well written. Those three trucks are extremely comparable in size with the exception of ride height and small bed length variations. Cummins.... dooo ittttt

I was disappointed in my test drive of the Titan diesel. And from what I have heard MPG's isn't very good.
Ram 2500 with the 6.7 beats the 5.0 Cummins in the Titan in Fuel economy. Has way more power with higher pay load and towing.
I loved the Eco diesel test drive. My only problem with it is the engine isn't perfected yet. Just to many engine failures.
I purchased another 2500 Ram Diesel.

I got a 2015 with 30k miles. I never see my average over 15 mpg. 95% of my driving is in the city. What's you guys opinion.

+Truck Camper It's looking like it's affirming the lie-o-meter moniker but that wasn't necessarily my intention going in. I've also been pretty surprised reading through all of the comments about how many people report accurate readings from theirs
