  • The Toyota Prius Dashboard intermittently turns off and won't come back on for a few days. Others have indicated that a faulty capacitor on the speedo circuit board may be the problem. After the owner removed the speedometer display, I tested and replaced the suspect capacitor.

I've repaired a few Prius dash power supply caps.
I normally change all 3 of them whilst I do the repair, they are all the same age and are more than likely out of tollerance, it makes a longer lasting repair job, and a happier customer

Thanks. In radios I differentially replace them all. I think the owner wanted to try and pinpoint the exact issue. Talked to him a few days ago and still no issues. Fingers crossed. He now has 421,700 on the Prius.

Great Video!, I did everything and it works but i now have an air bag light. From what i recall, there was 1 airbag plug (yellow) we disconnected. I double check connection it was fully seated. I went into diagnose screen by connecting pin 4 and 13 on the OBDii. there was some BS code that did not involve air bags. I cleared it anyways . it did not clear red air bag light. Anyone have same issue? Can anyone assist ?

Who can I pay to do this for my prius? My HUD had been out for two years and I want to sell it. I am in Orange County, California.

Too bad you are not in AZ, because I would do it.
