So in this Warframe Guide we're going to look at what's new, how these Systems work and how you can use them for yourself.
The Tennokai Mods and new Melee Arcanes were given to me for free through DigitalExtremes' official Warframe Creator Program.

Melee Influence with a heavy attack Xoris works pretty well for me.

I'm actually digging Melee Retaliation on my Rhino since I have over 1200 shields from shards for Parasitic Armor. Iron Skin means those shields are never taking damage.
melee influence is already busted w/ zaws, not exactly as underwhelming as described..
Once nice use case for melee Influence is proccing it on the Prova Vandal with the forced electricity procs of static discharge and then using it to spread more useful statuses like corrosive + heat. I don't know if there are other weapons that have forced electric procs but might be worth looking into.
Im a new player and i keep forgetting that this game was suppose to be a looter shooter game lol. The melee is way too much fun
One advice about Melee Crescendo, don't overestimate the mod. Even with maxed out combo counter it still takes several seconds after a heavy attack before you reach the 12x multiplier again (you can see the same effect on Corrupt Charge). So the mod isn't all that useful on a heavy attack build, but rather on light attack tennokai build. MC Gamerz made a video about the mod just recently. You can check it out, too, for all the nifty details.
I was actually unsure if this 'counting up' is actually just a visual thing or if it really takes the time to be considered at 12x again... But yeah, you're right. With a good Tennokai Setup, you'll get Heavy Attacks for free even faster. However there is a specific use case for this Arcane that is incredibly busted that I'm going to showcase soon ^-^

That depends on the enemy population and weapon type. Tonfa weapons always reach maximum combo at record time even without a mod to improve that
From what I've tested, the trigger for Discipline's Merit actually goes off hits per button press; hitting multiple enemies with one button press does not increment the Tennokai counter for each enemy hit.
Similarly, if one button press has your melee do 2+ strikes for that stage of the combo, it again only counts as 1 to the Tennokai counter if you hit a target for that stage of the combo.
This is a nice Nugget of Information 👀

Exsodia contagion and 1 of these arcanes. Zaws have 2 arcane slots. Laws are beyond broken

Melee Duplicate is actually really good with Glaives. You can get three elemental explosions with Xoris, Cerata, and Glaive Prime if you have volatile quick return
As a Kullervo player I gain great enjoyment and power from this update.

There's also a special enemy inside the murmur tileset which is a "book" that will always award an extra melee arcane on defeat. It's also present inside the netracells missions.

I personally use melee retaliation, as I have a volt build with 3200 shield, so I get about 400% damage boost at all times.
That being said, I havent tried the corrosive one, it might be stronger. And utlity wise, vortex seems the best.
Man, melee fortification sounds pretty damn awesome to use on Rhino. Think I might dust him off later to try this out

Not so sure tbh. I mean 10s is not that long and there's only so many enemies you can kill in that time. Also due to the armor scaling there's not that much of a difference between having +2000 and +4000 armor

The 4 seconds tennokai isn't for reactions, it's for when you get it but have nothing to use it on. You can run to a new clump of enemies and nuke them. The problem is the one that is a guaruntee every 4 hits is probably better for more consistency.

More Melee Influence, I run it on Syam, but also through Volt's EShield (Projectiles get elec damage and crit damage). This lets me still run the Viral/heat Syam Heavy attack spam, while benefitting most from the arcane AND the shield. Plus condition overload, just to wrig out all of the damage the other arcanes would get me.
PSA: Melee influence is BUSTED on the Xoris, the explosions deal an innate Elec proc, practically guaranteeing the stat spread on a heavy attack :)

I don't think that if a weapon attacks fast enough that you need to worry about guaranteed tennokai, as using valkyr I'm just constantly getting tennokai procs to the point I'm basically alternating between holding attack and tapping heavy attack.
I'd love to try to make a build for the magnetic pull one because it sounds fun to just be a blackhole essentially. Might have to do a magnetic/gas build until we get magnet mods like we've gotten for radiation. Or get a magnetic tennet melee for it :v

MHBlacky, you could add annotation to video that Melee Arcanes main drop point(where I actually farmed most) is "Whispers" actually. They drop from defeating whispers as well, I think you simply forgot to add it in video, I believe watchers could get this info as annotation at least so they don't skip this important info.
Even without these new arcanes my ack and brunt has a 238 crit chance and a 7x damage multiplier. Put that on dagath or kullervo and it's nonstop red crits and constant "!" After damage numbers. It's my goto for steel path
Yeah, I noticed that with the new Melee Arcanes, farming Credits on Lua, with the Secura Lecta, is NOTICABLY easier. SUbjectively 5 times easier. Not 20%, 80% but astoundingly much more - it's insane....

tennokai on pennant is so nice and refreshing because I don't just spam heavy attacks anymore AND tennokai procs the attack speed passive if it kills!
As a hildryn prime main not on sp yk I will be using melee retailiation (my base shield is almost 7k and I use elemental ward as a subsumed ability)
I am using tennokai with keratinos: Special spinning attack with guaranteed slash and melee reach buff (keratinos passive).
I love the Keratinos! Made s vid on them when they came out over on my German channel back in the day ^^

I love melee fortification on Hirudo. Healing on crit, and armor on kill. Just the thing to further boost my facetanking Nidus. Melee Duplicate will also be great on my exodia contagion status zaw, which, for some weird reason, almost always yellow crits, despite having the lowest crit.
I was thinking "I haven't even completed New War yet I have a Tennokai mod?" Then realised I got it from one of the Warframe live stream drops a couple weeks ago 🤦♂️ I really should try it out after seeing this video.

DE is crazy, they tried so hard to make primary and secondaries relevant, just to destroy it in one update. Melees being OP again is just silly, consider how long they were OP for.
Melees were OP before the update damage wise but AoE weapons have better coverage. These arcanes and tenno kai are niche options at best with a couple examples where it can shine (Xoris with Influence is kinda unga bunga big damage now).
no melee weapon, with any of the new arcanes or tennoksi effects, comes anywhere close to the clear time of the ocucor, the self-stripping of the latron incarnon, or the usability of the torid still.
destroyed it? not a single melee can tear lvl cap armies like torid incarnon or furis,dual toxocyst, lex, burston or boltor. Stop the cap

I guess the secret is out of the bag now, so I'll say that Melee Influence is insane. It spreads ALL the melee's elemental effects (which somehow includes Shattering Impact)
I put it on the Xoris (forced electric procs) and I got my first ever true Accolite one-shot in Conjunction Survival (lvl 180) from just electric status spread- It spawned in behind me and I threw the Xoris in front of me (away from it) at a clump of enemies as soon as the heath bars appeared at the top of the screen- both its health and shield bars instantly disappeared.
Don't pass on this one.! Rght now it's extremely powerful alone, only modded for electric, without even getting into the many synergies or other elements.

This update is honestly great. The additions definitely helped melee out, but there just isn't any real competition when it comes to primaries/secondaries. Aiming in the general direction of enemies and clearing out an entire hallway is just too good. I really do wish melee was better since the playstyle is more interactive compared to guns.
Tennokai works with Xoris and glaives overall. You can get free Heavy Attack/manual explosions while you throw a glaive.
AND keep the combo meter, so the damage stays consistent and POWERFUL.
@@Nazhulian Yes. And if you use Naramon focus , if you go out as operator with x8 combo(or more) you get 100% AMP bonus for 1min, you can basically have it all the time on operator if you want. And other effects that require combo multipliers.

any slash build with gram will shred, you can use a riv for extra attack speed and cc to get all the red crits

Can't wait for people to find out Duplicate and Crescendo are trash as far as Legendary/Platinum arcanes go. Animosity and Exposure are by far the best, in my opinion. Combined with Dreamers Wrath, mmph.
I agree with Duplicate but I think People have The Wrong Idead About Why someone might want Crescendo
The only thing I can see people wanting Crescendo for are stat sticks, as you won't be using heavy attacks, so you don't have to wait for it to build up again, but Exposure would be better to me. Unless there's an interaction/synergy I'm unaware of.
duplicate’s issue is just that it can only be used on select melees- those with low enough crit chance to not orange crit often with just blood rush on, but that are still able to keep up with todays weapons in spite of this. thankfully, two such weapons exist: praedos and gunsen prime. they come stock with 20% crit chance which is only 116% at 12x blood rush, but they’d been keeping up even in spite of this.

I think retaliation could potentially work well with a kullervo or styanax overguard build, even though the buff is halved, it's sill +200% or so at max rank and it might help someone who's damage doesnt scale that well to push to a higher enemy level.

Doesn't even have to be because it's capped at 420%. So many Frames can get pretty high when the Arcane is R5. But sure, for Hildryn you won't have to worry about your Shields being too low that much ;)
After doing a bit of testing in the Simulacrum with Reaper Prime, I can confirm heavy attack builds can benefit from Tenno Kai.
So if you're like me and possess the reflexes of a dead slug, you can still interact with the system.

After more testing it seems heavy attack builds can't modify the frequency of Tennokai procs.
I tried two mods, Discipline's Merit (4 hit tennokai proc) heavy attacks maintained the random chance, but light attacks worked as intended.
And Dreamer's Wath (50% increased tennokai proc chance + 32% heavy attack crit chance) my rng might just be bad but it didn't seem like the 50% increase was working.
Do you think the Skiajati fares well against enemies with this new update?
Melee duplicate seems a bit weak with the yellow only crit restriction. Would be great for low crit chance melee's but for most other weapons that can reach orange-red crits I don't see it being worth. Especially when a lot of crit chance buffs let you reach orange and red crits normally.
It's good on glaives, since those rarely get above yellow crits.

Though with 35-40 enemies being the cap at how many can be in the level at any given time, I'd say for most builds it'd be hard to even get to melee 30 kills whithin 10s 😉

That will be irrelevant with the Arcanes. All of them will be beyond broken
Anything with the most range and damage radius. So polearms and glaives.
@@NaregChakhbasian that's for the boring casuals. You can reach same results by not wasting mods in range and further increasing damage. I only ever use range on really small range weapons like Daggers, Sparring and Fist weapons. And only because they simply lack a stance than can properly make them work. Same for staff though. We really need a good staff stance because they are simply garbage

I don't think the legendary arcanes are all that great, honestly. double hitting on base crits means you only need to deal orange crits to be on par with it, red crits outright outpacing. It does mean you can ramp status faster I guess? But I still much prefer the up front damage, I think.
increased base combo count also isn't super great either, since it still has to count back up to 220 which takes around 10 seconds. You could just git gud at tennokai and run body count or something
Melee Duplicate also frees up mod space. I have a Dual Ichor riven that hits 99.6% crit with just Gladiator Might, which means I can replace Sacrificial Steel, Blood Rush and Gladiator Vice with Buzz Kill, Energy Focus and Primed Fever Strike for more damage that Melee Exposure gives, and on my 2 green shard Citrine does 6 Corrosive, 2 Slash and 1 other status on EVERY hit. With Prismatic Gem and Archon Continuity, that's full armor strip and 4 Slash procs in 2 attacks...
There's a diffrence between hitting twice and hitting orange crits

I’m MR 9 and my usual setup is excalibur, sobek, gammacor, broken war, and of course, exatled blade. I’ve been a big fan of ur vids cause they were so informative and actually taught me stuff. However, i have trouble with the level 36 enemies. Im not even joking! LEVEL 36!!! I try to mod my weapons well and i still struggle with that level. EVEN WITH A NECRAMECH! I dont know HOW i even got the archwing launcher, the necramech, and the railjack in my state. Though, i have no galvanized, primed, umbral, or any kind of special mods. And also, im not sure if i have good weapons either, so i was hoping u could help in my replies? Love u! ❤
What mods are you using on your broken war?
what i did when i was low level was looking up builds for weapons i have, and when inevitably they used a mod i didnt have, id see how to get that mod, and if i could, cool! id go get the mod and id toss it on the weapon. if i couldn't however, id look for the next best thing, like a mod that did something similar but not quite exactly the same. also! MHBlacky has another video on weapon modding if you haven't seen it yet, i'd recommend searching for that if you can.

Just started out a week ago, altho as a starter it's not really big of a deal FOR NOW(well for me) but melee is the best lol. Slam, break. 1 shots. No aiming needed (i use the gram and just maxxed out attack speed and damage mod + crit and crit dmg )

I feel like the downfall is you are roughly sitting there for 7 seconds waiting for your combo to climb back up, so youd just auto attack while you wait for it to hit max
But then why wouldnt you just play a tennokai melee build as then you are pretty much doing the exact same thing- aka light attacking > heavy attacking> light attacking, rinse and repeat AND disciple merit makes you get those full powered heavy attacks out much faster then the 5-7 seconds wait

Melee Crescendo wasn't made for people who like Melee.... It was Actually Made for People who Hate it or don't enjoy using it All The Time.... Such as Myself.
See... The last thing I want to do is Melee 24/7 non stop for a whole Mission... I would much Rather only Melee when something like an Acolyte shows Up ... Because I hate Melee that much.
