Hey would you be intrested in putting a mark viii on your channel? its not perfect right now but when i get it all finished i'll send ya a email.
I really want to but I just ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza with bbq sauce as a substitute for marinara.
Hey @regularCars, but how about same system but for 15k used ? Sane engine same cvt
the Dutch company is actually called DAF, as in daf(t), not D/A/F, the car division was bought by Volvo in 1970s and incorporated the CVT into their line of small cars (the 300 series of DAF design), later licensed to Ford Europe for the Fiesta and Escort in the 80s. DAF remains a major truck manufacturing company today.
Selling a manual as a high trim option is like selling TV dinners over the mail and calling it "better than gas station food"
Airline food
Toyota is doing the same thing with the Corolla. The cheapest manual Corolla is several thousand more than the cheapest automatic.
Making fun of the video sponsor?
@@TheMsdos25no more manual Corolla.
Mazda however offers a manual on the highest trim fwd Mazda 3 only.
It sucks for the common broke boy but its a smart business move. We gotta be happy they still offer a manual. Heck, we should be grateful the Type-R still exists in its current form. Don't forget how Mazda and Mitsubishi fell off the enthusiast cliff.
"CVTs are liquid snake pretending to be Master Miller" is an actual golden analogy
"Master, what are you doing here!?"
It's insane how all the cars we grew up with, the ones we saw in video games etc are all approaching 6 figures. Good luck ever finding that 90's type R Integra in Phoenix yellow.
Championship white with the matching white/red wheels...
The US car market is a law unto itself and a little crazy too. In Europe a LHD Integra R run between 13-20K
The modern Civic in our currency is around the millions nowadays (and the Type-R will cost you an arm and a leg afaik), far cry from how much it was back in the day.
Good luck in hoping Mazda will ever make a RX7.
The boomers had it with muscle cars, and when they are dead in 10 years or they had to give up the car keys, the muscle cars will drop in value.
I haven't seen Mr. Regular so disappointed/angry in a long time.
I've missed it.
Low spec integras have always been a sore spot for Mr. Regular. Automagics make his head want to explode.
Regular Car Reviews is the pathway that some consider to be… uncommonly funny.
Is it possible to learn these video powers?
😅
Not from a Jedi.
Im actually really glad to hear RCR's take on the new Integra, it's refreshing to hear genuine concerns about this car other than "bUT iT's nOT 2 dOoR!!!1!1"
It's like everyone forgets the Integra, since its inception, has had a 4 door version.
And this? Is a tarted up ILX. So what the fuck were they really expecting?
@@jeremiahwhan The 4 door Integra was like the 4 door Civic... workhorses and the better sellers to the masses. However to reboot this thing you NEED the 2 door option which made these cars iconic. Thius car does not remind me of an "Integra" at all. Call this a TSX or ILX and I wouldn't even notice. This is quite sad that sedans and crossovers are all we get now.
@Rayrard nobody in America is buying coupes anymore, when it comes to cars. It's why they stopped offering them for the Civic, years before the "Integra" was announced.
Again. What the fuck were y'all expecting?
@@jeremiahwhan I don't get why. They do have coupes (Camaro, Mustang, Z, BRZ) so they can offer one even if it has relatively low sales. And if they are going to just make sedans with no connection to the nameplate, then just name them "ILX", "RSX" or whatever they were doing before. This car is not an integra or worthy of that name.
It being 4 doors means its bigger and heavier, which is all but what the integra should be
I always figured manuals would go the way of premium option. Now that they nolonger offer an mpg benefit they won't make up the bulk of entry-level cars, and since they don't offer a performance advantage they are becoming rare throughout the rest of the market. This conspires to make the development of manuals for new cars a less profitable venture since they won't be used in many vehicles no matter what. The only way for them to remain is if manufacturers decide to cater to enthusiasts, and that meant it is guaranteed to become an extra cost option.
In other words, if they hadn't opted to offer a manual in the Integra as an extra cost option they wouldn't have bothered to develop one to begin with.
The biggest contributor to the death of manuals is café mpg requirements and emissions standards, because drivers cannot be trusted to not emit pollution by revving hard or drive properly to get the best mpg.
The funny part about that is, before Subaru discontinued the manual transmission option on the Impreza/Crosstrek, it was available in lower trims. You couldn't get a Crosstrek or Impreza Limited with a manual. This also meant you couldn't pair the 2.5L engine the Crosstrek Limited received in 2020 with a stick shift.
And now, since the manual has been completely dropped, the new Impreza RS is left with only the stupid CVT. Absolutely criminal.
I’m glad you highlighted the Lexus as an alternative to the base model Integra. Really shows you what you could reasonably get instead of a polished midrange Civic.
I have one of these, with the manual transmission. It's wonderful, but I still feel like I've been scammed. I justified it to myself by saying that the Civic Si's were getting marked up to near what the A-Spec Tech Package was anyway, so I might as well go with it.
I picked up a 2.4 6 speed ILX 10 years ago, new. Car is still in mint condition, all stock. Felt the same way you do for almost the first 5 years. Now I just appreciate the fact I have a great running, rare, k24 based car that keeps increasing in value. Hold onto it, enjoy it.
when all the CVTs break just out of warranty and yours doesn't, you're quids in. Consider it an investment.
Don't worry. I got scammed by tesla. It's just the American way
So very much this. It's a car that can do it when you want. But was it worth it? Is there really an experience to be had there?
The days of keeping a transmission for 300,000 miles or more are going away with these cars.
I consider 200,000 a stroke of luck for them.
100,000 would be standard life expectancy.
"you can't make an entire review based on a transmission"
Mr regular, "hold my craft beer"
What really upsets me about the CVT is that Acura has an 8 speed DCT that was used in the ILX which is just a civic sedan with a K24. So why not stick it in the Integra which is already upcharged
I went on like 2 minute rant to myself about this. In an era of 8, 9, 10 speed dual clutches and autoboxes, why use a ratio-programmed CVT? It'll do the same thing, wont base the sportiness on an illusion, and wouldn't even weigh that much more. This is lame
@@coliimusic exactly and they have the 8 speed DCT that was used in the ILX that this replaced. Would have been a much better and quicker car with it too. You can get a Hyundai Elantra N line for mid to high twenties and guess what? It gets a 1.6L turbo engine and a DCT transmission
@@thevideolord Other Integra reviews have said that Acura's decision to ditch the DCT was purely *BECAUSE* they knew the manual was in the mix for the enthusiast crowd. Nevermind that it ended up behind a paywall with a "Tech Package" that includes all the other stuff that a manual buyer would likely shun...
I've never driven a Honda CVT... but six months in to my ILX... I would consider it. The DCT is harsh, klunky, and indecisive. Not ALL the time, but often enough to ... errr... "grind my gears". I really wanted an Si... but the MSRP is $12k over my budget right now, and that's not including markups. Plus, Unavailability... Even USED Si's cost essentially as much as new. There is obviously pent-up demand.
it’s not that great of an automatic plus there’s enough of a difference between the cvt and manual to make people think about it
The Integra was always meant to be a fancier Civic, so it's no surprise ordinary people would choose the *"Fancy"* Transmission
I had a '96 Integra, and there was nothing Civic about it. Even with my base model with an automatic, it was short, uncomfortable, a 4-seater only by technicality, lighter, stiffer suspension, less cargo space... yeah, there was never anything Civic at all about Integras. It was meant to be a budget car you could hit the track with, it was never meant to be a casual commuter car. If you drove an Integra, it was because you enjoyed driving, not because you simply had to get from one place to another.
The 2012 NSX was a technical marvel, which, whether or not you like the styling, is on-brand for NSX. This Integra is just a slightly redesigned Civic, which is an insult to the Integra name.
@@sorak185i currently stand at 6,2 and daily a 95 4 door integra ls auto. Id have to argue that im still quite comfortable in this car.
Hmmm yesss myyy carrr changes gears *forrr* me, ohhh it's sooo fahncyyy
@@sorak185Thanks for the user review and opinion, I agree with you on the NSX and I liked the styling.
@goldeneye0019 and I'd have to argue that your comment is horseshit and one giant cope.
While integras are great, they're not the best commuter, nor were they meant as such.
I'm 5'11" and I find my crown victoria could have more room inside. You being 6'2" and claiming to be "quite comfortable" I find hard to believe. Unless you only drive your car for 20 minutes at a time.
The ‘good student who resorted to cheating and got caught’ analogy hit me hard.
I missed a months long portion of sophomore year due to an autoimmune illness, and had to take an ‘incomplete’ in a couple courses. This gave me a semester to finish and submit the missing work. For one of the classes, this was mostly editing so that was fine. But another was a writing course and I got lazy. It became clear I was going to miss the deadline. So I let it pass. And pleaded ignorance. And lied saying I’d emailed the missing essays earlier than I did and somehow tried to weave a paper thin story about how I really did have all the work finished within the window. Then the professor emailed me a screenshot of the creation date of my last essay. The data showing the document wasn’t even created until 3 days after the deadline…. My heart stopped when I opened that email.
He said basically that he knew I was bullshitting, but he remembered how when I was well enough to attend class I was always engaged and did good work. And that this time at least, he wouldn’t turn over my attempt at trying to lie my way into a passing grade over to the body of student ethics or whatever it was called.
I silently sat at my desk, a couple silent tears rolled down my face. Took the F I earned. And signed up for the course again. Online only version. I couldn’t show my face there in person again.
Feelings and moments like this are why I dropped out of college
Feelings and moments like these pushed me to become a better student and finish college as best as I can. You learn the most about yourself in the moments where you come up short, even when it's not your fault, but you don't have to come up short forever. Hope you aced that class next semester bro
I’ve never done or experienced anything like that but that bit and your story still shakes me to my core. I had an inferiority complex and abject fear of failure that I spent years in therapy trying to beat, so it still hits hard, damn.
Honda scooter CVTs are pretty great and really show you how to get the most out of a small amount of power
My Honda Navi does very well for being 110cc. It leaves most traffic behind up to 35 MPH from a stop.
@@bigbean78
We have a Honda scooter called the Beat; it's lighter than the Navi, higher compression ratio, more horsepower and cheaper
Every single review always has a deeper meaning and it is truly appreciated. Keep up the good work can't wait for next weeks review.
My biggest gripe is that if Honda can justify making a Civic Type R and an Integra Type S, then why no Civic Si Hatch?
I’m not against not offering the base Integra with a manual. But you should at least be able to buy one without the adaptive dampers and some of the other fluff.
2023 Acura Integra: For those who have a burning desire to pay a lot more for a Civic and get little in return, all the while being surrounded by a sales staff that has the balls to add a dealer markup on a somewhat nicer Civic. ($5,000+ markups...on an Integra? Really? You already shot yourself in the foot HARD by marking up the Integra Type-S dangerously close to the TLX Type-S, so are you trying to keep these bolted to the showroom floor?)
The sad part is the integra is actually being marked up less than the civic si and type R
i got my integra for under msrp in NY State when the honda dealer was charging $40k for a used si with 1500 miles
go figure
@ShaiyanHossain You did good!!! I've asked in my area, and the average is around 3 to 5k over!
Every integra in my area is at or under MSRP. Civics go for higher, and used Integras are insane deals(4-5k under MSRP with less than 3000 miles on most). I got mine at 2800 miles for 5K under MSRP in Metro Atlanta.
I went to three Acura dealerships two months ago. None of them had markups on the Integra base, aspec or tech. The only one marked up was the Type S.
The A plus to a spec line was perfect. I felt it in my soul
Honda tech here. This cvt does indeed have a torque converter. They could never get the start clutch to feel right so they went back to torque converters.
I watch Demuro for quasi objectivity. I watch you for the subjectivity. And the occasional philosophy. I will forever love your lecture on modernism vs post-modernism. quality.
My Impreza has no power and still kills it with a 5-speed.
I have the base Impreza with the 5mt and it's such a joy to go fast because I have to work with the car to do it. I'm so glad to see manuals making a resurgence
Kills what? Your pocket? 😅
@@PremiumUserUltra 5head gigabrain move: buying an old base model from a retiree who's smart enough to put aftermarket head gaskets on it and baby the car for 100k miles, and just got too much going on in the knees for stiff clutches.
@@snaffu1 sounds smoothbrained to me. You only have one life.
My old 2.2l Legacy had the sloppiest, most worn out 5-speed ever, and I'd still have it over any automatic 4-cylinder Subaru ever. It was absolutely 'slow car fast' fun.

This is the best review of the third season of Picard I've heard to date. God the writing felt like AI fanfic.
John Davis reference is so gold
I get that most Americans don't want a manual but many world markets do and Honda certainly has shipping containers full they could send to USA production plants. Hell, make it a one off option across all trims and charge the couple hundred bucks it costs to ship the crash box...
I mean I don't think this integra is available anywhere else but the US though. Definitely not in Europe at least as Acura isn't a brand here
Manuals are dying across the globe though. At least in markets where Acura exists.
Canada, China, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Australia are all moving towards auto or already there. Some European nations now sale more autos.
I can imagine more developing nations would still stick with a manual, but I doubt the Integra is intended for them.
@@baronvonjo1929Exactly. People should stop with the "Americans don't drive manual" b.s.
And besides , who gives a f???
Americans do want a manual. There’s a surprising amount of people that still want it, otherwise, Mr. Regular wouldn’t have a problem with this car and this video wouldn’t exist.
@miniaddict4534 No enough people want it to make it a profitable venture in mass production. If there were profits to be made someone would have more offerings.
That's a cool body kit for the Honda crosstour lol
They should bring it back tbh
@@xxyvng6831Yes!
Honey I shrunk the Acura ZDX
The automatic option for this car should've been the 8 speed DCT of the ILX, or even the 10 Speed of the 10th Gen Accord 2.0T because a CVT just numbs the driving experience whether it has a manual mode or not.
These type of reviews have a way of making me feel more okay for putting money into keeping an older honda on the road. Even a 07 Fit, 5-Speed can still be "Honda go brrrr" type manual fun. While I am glad there are still manuals around to have fun with, its sad watching them get the luxury option treatment more and more.
I got told by a supervisor that he hated his new integra. I thought he was kinda harsh but he coulda just said it had a cvt. Now I understand. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just an option on any trim level.
Took a turn for the nissan, love it!!!
I am legit fine with CVTs simulating gears, as long as it is *relegated to the paddle shifting/manual mode* I've driven a 2023 Integra A Spec, and it does not seem to simulate shifts in automatic mode until you get near full throttle. I have also driven an ILX Hybrid that did not simulate shifts at all in its automatic mode, but had a 7-speed manual mode. That is the ideal belt and pulley CVT setup in my opinion.
I am fine with crapping my pants, as long as I’m wearing a diaper. Sometimes I poop my pants when I’m wearing boxers and sometimes wearing boxer briefs. I much prefer wearing the diaper when I soil myself. That’s what you basically said.
Mental gymnastics level of coping
Metal Gear reference made my week. Thank you.
I know people with the prior car (ILX with a DCT-8 and a K-series 2.4 engine). In 2019-2022 they sold new for $22-28k because no one knew about them and had big inventory.
That transmission was designed by Honda's MT team and is faster (0-60 about 6s), smooth and responsive. (plus have real leather, not vinyl or the Alcantara crap)
They regularly get 42mpg highway & 36mpg local. (plus no Idle-stop; no turbo; no elect park-brake; no cyl-deact; no CVT)
The Carfax says my ILX sat on the dealer lot(s) for TWO YEARS when it was new. (Built 11/16, first sold 12/18 with 200 miles!). It has fake leather.
I’m convinced all automakers have just agreed to make worse cars hence forth.
i doubt your ilx has real leather
Great review. Thank you for the awesome content
Cost wise, the manual likely costs less to produce than the CVT. The manual does come with a LSD, and we should be grateful there is a manual option available.
Wild that Honda thought this was a good idea when the big reason why the CRX reboot they call the CRZ failed, was because it only came in automatic transmission.
the CRZ failed because it was this weird underpowered hybrid and not a focused lightweight lil fwd Miata type car (it did have a manual transmission surprisingly though, I specifically remember driving a few of them when I worked at a Honda dealer)
@@milkj.I wonder if they would have sold a bit better if there was an Si Version from factory. They had the HPD Supercharger option for the manuals, so they could have just had it installed from factory and sold the nearly 200hp hatch as a “modern day 3-door Civic Si.”
@@milkj.it's underpowered not just because of it's lackluster powertrain, but also because the cvt transmission actually reduces the peak performance on an already underperforming powertrain. There was a 6-speed manual version but they were primarily sold in Japan and barely any were sold elsewhere.
with the manual transmission, the car topped out at 120hp, while the cvt version topped out at 110hp. What sucks is that the improvement to fuel economy on the cvt version is pretty miniscule for how much the car had to suffer for it.
Yeah I was going to say, it's definitely available in a manual. The reason I personally didn't buy one is because I need more than two seats.
The CRZ came with a manual.
Also, the Acura Integra A-Spec comes with a manual

Purist rant all you want, for real world driving Honda’s CVT is actually the better transmission pairing for the 1.5T engine. It does a great job of spooling up the little turbo when you need it, being silky smooth around town and getting great fuel economy.
Yes it drones and is not very fun if you’re driving with a very heavy foot, but if you’re that person, you should have bought a Type-S anyways.
This is the one I was waiting for but I was hoping you’d get your mitts on a 6MT. I’ve had mine since launch and it’s been fun rowing through the gears.

I think the reason Honda didn't give the base trim of this an MT option was because that would constitute a direct competitor to the Civic Si (with a nicer interior and similar price point considering Si markups) from within the same brand.
Exactly

True because 24 civic si start at 29,100 and base integra start at 31,500 that’s a 2,400 price difference

I was in the market for a Civic Touring earlier this year, but the market adjustment made them the same price as the Integra A-Spec Tech. Acura gave me a couple thousand off since they had 70+ on the lot.
If you can get one below MSRP, it’s a fair value in that premium entry level market.
Housemate's 2009 Jazz (Honda Fit) at ~90k miles still feels nice to change gears in.
I am comparing to my own 2008 Fiat Panda also at around 90k, which isn't terrible but the Honda is definitely nicer.
10-15 year old Honda Fits and the Matrix/Vibe are the best cheap first car you can buy these days, IMO, and in the Matrix/Vibe you can get a manual AWD combo.

@@louiearmstrong Honda Jazz/Fit and Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Voltz are such fun, cheap gear bangers. Miata's are genuinely overrated, but it's good people sleep on some models to keep the prices down.

Fun cars are dead in the auto industry.
A true reflection of society because it’s what people buy.
I wish I bought an 02-04 when they were a couple grand for really nice ones (at least in my area). Now the prices of those nice ones all have a tumor in the shape of a 1 hanging off the first digit.
Depending on the car regarding the “manual tax” I saved $2400 getting a manual over a CVT in my 2022 Versa
Worst cvt ever
That new versa is so much fun to throw around town in town traffic. Test drove one an SR trim
The Versa is one of the few cars left where the manual option is cheaper. The Miata is the only other one I can think of new.
@@xenonsaccord4447SR means super r3tarded becuase you thought u got a sporty trim but it will still get gapped by a geo.
@xenonsaccord4447 I was wrong. On top of the trash cvt the car is poop too
I had a CVT Corolla (not the real first gear CVT) for a bit until a texting teen in an old 4Runner played the rear end like an accordion. I'll give it this. It was smooth. It was quiet and refined in normal driving. It didn't drone on like a JATCO CVT equipped vehicle. And it got insane mileage. My combined mileage was 3 MPG higher than the EPA pure highway figure. It mostly ran like a pure CVT in normal driving, and vaguely simulated shifts under hard acceleration. It was enough to break up the monotony without being so much that it really defeated the purpose of a CVT. Sure, it had a manual mode where it would fully emulate an automatic if you cared to use it, but you had to specifically choose it.
The 2GR-FE I have now and the traditional automatic behind it blow that Corolla out of the water, but I do still miss how smooth that shiftless Corolla was in easy normal driving. The 4 banger can't hold a candle to the refinement of the 2GR under load though. The 2GR is easily the most refined engine I've ever driven and likely will be until the day I get to drive a Lexus LS.
The A-Spec w/Tech is worth every penny. It was also cheaper and more available (due to shortage and Honda Dealer gouging). The manual is a no cost option.
Considering the base Integra is $35k, you’d be stupid to not go full pickle on the A-Spec with Tech, UNLESS you were playing to Develop a track car.
I begrudgingly got the CVT, because I was sharing the car with my then Wife who isn’t going to row gears.
That Phoenixville analogy hit a little too close to home 😂
Shots fired
Auto makers can’t win. If they offer only manual transmissions on base models, car nerds complain they want more features with a stick shift. If they only offer manual transmissions on high-end models, car nerds complain that they want one that’s cheaper. If they offer stick shifts across the whole line, they’ll be stuck with a bunch of inventory they can’t sell. And I love RCR, but I love them enough to know that these guys both bought 20+ year old Toyotas as their daily drivers. Put your money where your mouth is boys. I did.
The way you desrcibe honda transmission is absolutely beautiful thank you so much, i couldn't agree more
I just picked up the 6 speed version of this. I’d offer it up to test but not sure I’m ready to be savagely roasted 🤣
You made a good purchase.
Considering it's the same transmission as the Si, I don't think production cost was the reason Acura only offers the manual on high trims. It's more likely they didn't want internal competition between the Integra and the Civic Si
You know what’s going to happen, right? The sticks aren’t going to sell as well because Honda put them behind a pay wall, and then they’ll justify their discontinuation due to low sales. 🤪
That low key Doug reference hits hard. Well done! I still think about “Silt is” to this day.
Regular rotating along with the Factor dish was a nice touch.
I bought a base 2024 Integra this past July. I wish the manual was available on the base model, as I wanted to experience a Honda manual transmission in a car that was also an upgrade from my 2015 VW Golf 2-door with the manual. Additionally, I didn’t need the extra technology the A-Spec and Technology Package, and I wanted the 17” wheels for a better ride.
That said, for the driving I do, I feel the CVT isn’t terrible, and the Integra was a good road trip companion. In late September, I drove from the Boston area to Acadia National Park’s Park Loop Road in Maine and back and had a great time. I look forward to many happy years with it.
The reason the integra doesn’t have a manual at the base level is because the Si exists.
I also feel that Honda nerfed the Si in the U.S. to entice buyers to step up to the Integra. (The Canadian-spec Si has heated seats and a full digital gauges as standard; the U.S. model has only a partial digital gauge cluster and no heated seats).
You did not get an upgrade, you crossed over into the NPC realm where you’ll remain complacent because your Integra will in a comatose state. Who ever got your Golf deserves it more than you, I’m glad your Golf doesn’t have to suffer with you anymore.
I’m up in arms in Australia Because no new Honda has a manual AT ALL HERE, apart from the Civic Type R which itself is way too expensive
Honda doesn’t feel like it wants to have fun like the good old days of 2003 when we had the NSX, S2000 and Type-R’s a plenty, and that makes me just so sad
Old-school always shuts down new school. I showed up to my local meet in my EK, I parked across a 2023 civic si and I got everyone asking questions and looking at mods and taking pics. The newer Si had crickets.

It’s everyone’s favorite past time to dump on Nissan but the new Z really is breath of life in the car community. You can get a manual in the base or upper trim while still getting 400hp.
Right, but then you have to look at it.
Nobody is driving the new Z in the south, and witnessing on the street the couple times I did felt more uncomfortable than seeing a rebadged Z4 pass by and cross lanes illegally.
But the "base" is a $42k twin-turbo. It should start as a normally-aspirated $30k car competing with the BRZ/86.
you cant eben buy a new z even if you wanted to
@@dennislippert8875 At first when this idea came about during the reveal in 2021 I didn't like the idea. The "eco boost mustang conundrum" as I like to call it I felt didn't fit the Z. The 240, 260, 280, 350, and 370 didn't have motor options as that would kind of ruin the purpose of the naming scheme. As well as Mr.K wasn't a fan of making sports cars that weren't "sports cars".
Though looking at the 280zx, Z31, and Z32 more closely I actually wish Nissan would offer a weaker motor for attainability. Everything just keeps getting more and more expensive and sports cars are dying out. a 30-35k Z would be a HUGE bonus to the sports car market.
As a former owner of a 2001 GSR sedan that until this day remains one of my favorite cars that I owned and unfortunately was stolen if not I might still have today and a recent owner of a 2003 ep3 I am Guilty of purchasing a 2024 Integra A-Spec technology cvt that I use as a daily and I love it it might not be the fastest but the handling and tech are what make it a great car to drive every day I was hoping that the CVT would not disappoint me and it hasn't and call me crazy but I really like the sound the car makes when I'm driving spiritly!!! No disappointment here!!
Thank you for correctly explaining the way a CVT is supposed to perform. Fake shifts aren't just silly, they take power away, make the car less predictable, and because of that, they make the car slightly more dangerous!
I got a little excited thinking we were about to get a Type-S video.
Honestly, I get WHY car companies put the manuals at the top trim only; they have to “recuperate money somehow” for all of the “effort” it took to put a stick in the car. Albeit in this case, it wouldn’t have been that hard given it’s a Civic in a well-fitted suit. It is annoying that they don’t really put manuals in base models, but I get it. 90% of people aren’t buying a stick. Doesn’t mean I endorse it though.
That being said, I do like these. Yeah, they aren’t a 3-door model, but I think it’s a good car. And given the markups on the Civic Si, you get a little more for your money here with the Teggy. It’s a shame they also didn’t bring back that Phoenix Yellow they teased for the Integra at the reveal of this car.
Also, that panel 0:42 holy cow 😂
Yeah, that hurt my soul
If my memory doesn't fail me, Honda built the new integra with the goal of making it like it was never discontinued. I think they achieved that with everything you've said.
Good morning, another great, visceral review (my third on this Integra) upscale or not, the stick shouldn't be behind a paywall!
One thing that Honda could market is that as a hatchback, it’s more practical than the A3, CLA, and 2series gran coupe and it handles better than the Q3, GLA, and X1
Only Lower decks is good these days 😂 it’s true it’s the only one I look forward to. I have a CVT A Spec and my two complaints are the road noise and the front doors are too small. By back and neck hurt getting in and out of it and I do sometimes which I got the manual. It was the same price as the Civic SI at the time because of ADM on the Honda. Great stereo though.
I respectfully disagree, Strange New Worlds is excellent and a tribute to TNG. Give it another shot. I didn't take at first either.
@@CK-ne9umSNW isn't as wonderful as I had hoped, but it's still enjoyable.
Lower Decks took until midway through S2 and they dialed down the Mariner character to become watchable. They still fall back on expecting fans to automatically laugh at too much to pass.
I went up Pikes Peak in the new Teg in October of 2022, and I might have been the first person in the world to do that at the time.

The manual only in top trim has a silver lining. When shopping used Integras and wanting a manual you can now compare prices easily.
The manual is available on the one-trim-above-base “sport” civic complete with a boomer pleasing multi point fuel injected na 4 banger. It’s fantastic.
I remember people were actually laughing at this car when it was unveiled for the first time. 😆
I have the proletariat SI version. Manual onry, and I'm at an avg of 37mpg. More than this guy in the CVT, but only barely.
I never realized that Strong Bad plays Worf on TNG!
That shot at the beginning of the video shows body panels slightly mismatched. That set up the review for me.
God DAMN that last shot got me with the 3rd gen to this! From the unveiling everyone was disappointed and let down. Then with every press release it got worse and worse, from the CVT, to the manual only available on top models, to doing a Type S instead of a Type R. The only thing I can think is instead of trying to appease us elder millennials who wanted a reboot of the 3rd gen, I think they're drying to build a new legacy for a younger crowd, who will look at the S like we look at the old R, idk though... Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt!
The Acura Integra A spec does come with a manual
Only the aspec with the tech package. This one was just aspec. It was missing a few things other than the manual.
Just bought a '24 Integra ASpec Tech 6MT in April and I love it. All I can say is at least Honda (Civic), Acura (Integra), Mazda (3), VW (GTI) and a VERY few more are still offering a manual transmission while SO many others have bit the dust. I got mine now just in case Honda/Acura changes their mind and discontinues them.....
Actually, interesting fact about tractors and CVTs, they growing more common on tractors now. Those 24 and 32 gear transmissions are being phased out.
1.5L has exposed Soy wires and plastic fuel lines that rodents like to chew.
MMMMMmmmm, wiring

I owned a 2nd gen Integra back in the day. TBH, I think a lot of people have forgotten how "normal" the original integras were. IIRC, it was sold as a Civic trim level in Japan.
I admire how Mazda sells the MX-5 miata. Standard with a manual transmission, and if you option the auto, they charge you $1300 and nerf a lot of the performance tweaks, because obviously you just want a comfy drive if you're getting an auto.
Agree. It's funny how SO many people bemoan the Acuras of the past but all they really were == were tarted up Hondas. I remember test driving an '04 RSX hatchback. I loved driving it but I didn't buy it due to its small size. I love my '24 Integra ASpec Tech 6MT. I know it's based on the Civic but it suits my needs perfectly.
I really tried to get through this, but you just keep on about the trans... This isn't high school, manuals aren't cool just bc you can drive one. Accept it and move on, it's simple. I'm sure the rest of the vid is good, but I'll never know😢❤
Looks like 100 other cars.
Godamn, that closing line is going to go down in history as one of your best of all time.
Thanks for the deep cut MGS reference.
This is what a review of the A-Spec should be!!
Stuck on “Silt is…”
That’s a deep, deep callback. Brilliant.
Hey look it's the next Generation ILX great car but no, not an Integra. Your ranting against The CVT is hilarious. I'm sorry but it's not an Integra and if we as the "Consumer" population had any amount courage and integrity would call Honda/Acura out on their over hyped bullshit. Is it a nice car? The new ILX has had some great reviews it's not a bad car, but this is almost as bad as The Eclipse and Mustang becoming Crossover "SUV"'s. So we as "Consumers" have 2 choices. The 1st choice. Call Honda/Acura out on their bullshit and say collectively this isn't an Integra and stop buying them. 2nd choice Continue to lie to ourselves and pretend it's an "Integra" and not a next generation ILX.
Thank you. I also see this as an ILX… Shameful they put the Integra name on this car for a cash grab. However I am happy to see so many Acura’s back on the road. Seeing any Acura is a rare sight in my small town.
This is your brain on nostalgia.
@@basedkat09 If that makes you sleep better at night, okay.
@matthewmohri9990 So does the RSX not count as an Integra either? A nameplate is just a nameplate, it literally doesn't mean anything.
