How do you fix a pull-down faucet that won’t retract? Try adjusting the counterweight under the sink

- If your faucet sprayer thingy won’t retract back into the faucet neck, it’s likely an easy fix. Over time the counterweight attached to the hose underneath the sink can slip. Just slide the weight back up the hose a bit and you’ll be back in business.

Wow, thanks ever so much. I am an elderly widow and every single thing I have repaired here I have to dish out money. That 'dangling' thing was driving me a looney tune and now -- it retracts great. You saved me $$$$$.

PERFECT fix!!! Thank you so much! My faucet is pretty new, and I must have over-extended the hose. Did NOT want to pay someone a minimum of $40 to make a house call, and now I'm ESPECIALLY glad I looked at possible fixes before having to resort to that. Three seconds...and my faucet is working perfectly again! Thank you again!!!

Good ol' You Tube and much gratitude to you. 😊 This is how my faucet is in my apartment; maintenance came and did some work in my kitchen the other day and when I came home my faucet head was just dangling down and I swore they broke it. 😂 I was so mad. I feel a little embarrassed. But your video helped me to get it back on track.

I have moved the weight and tried it every which way, but the hole will still not retract. Any suggestions?
How old is the faucet itself? After a while the woven material around the retractable tubing can fray or become worn, and eventually it doesn’t slide easily anymore. If it’s a newer faucet, check to make sure that the weight isn’t getting hung up on something under the sink, like other plumbing supply lines or cleaning supplies.
@@lukeqstafford it’s fairly new. Less than 6 months old.
