- Whether you've been sitting on the couch since March since lockdown, or have always had a pesky paunch situation, this video will show you some tips and tricks to camouflage the area and define a waist that may have gone on Vaca đ
My daughter,23 yrs old, and I, 62 yrs old â€ïž watching you
âŠ..ageless style.
OMG. I just discovered you and Iâd love to emulate your style. You throw out a lot of designer names I never heard of on the kind of budget I could only dream of. Iâm 69 years old and my designers are Amazon and TJ Maxx . There are no good thrift stores near where I live so Iâve decided to start sewing again. Fabrics are a problem in my area too but Iâm determined. Thank you for your inspiration videos. Did you know that patterns can cost as much as $35? I remember when they were $1. Take care, stay safe (Covid đ·) and keep up the great work. â€ïž
thank you! xo
Oh my goodness, just discovered her as well Diane. Been binge watching her videos, she's such a stylish inspiration, and great fun too! I'm moving into 58 đ€«, and am sooooooo tired of myself - where did the stylish me disappear to đ„?? My problem is that I'm short, not even petite, waaaay short, just under 5 foot, but with long legs. Before the kids (now, does THAT sound familiar?!), I used to sew all my clothes but what with time and life, family dinners, activities coming out of my ears, and running round like a jackrabbit, that fell by the way side. I'm now back to sewing and have rediscovered a wonderful joy in it. I shop on Ebay for patterns, it can be incredibly cheap, especially for vintage, just a couple of $$s...and alter to suit. Also teaching myself drafting - a challenge, but so interesting. Slowly moving back into a newer, older, wiser, and hopefully more stylish me. And the best thing - my husband is amazed anew at my abilities. Best wishes đ€đ
Hi Diane. I too am 69...and watching ALL the videos!! Carla is great!
@@carolmartin7474 Hi Carol,I am 70đ€«.She inpired me,her style suits me very well.I am glad that I met her here. All the best đ
I'm 62 I just discovered Missy ...her purse and jewelry collection to die for!!! I love her but she knows that already !
Just Love you Carla, thank you so very much. Im 58..I've always had a unique style but was forced aka bullied into dark bland colors because I'm plus size. After Bing watching all your videos I went thru my closet, made a list and got a few key pieces already.. Including platform sneakers .. đWooHoo! I feel alive again.
Would love an update Wanda. Are you back in colour full time?đ
I understand what you're saying very well because I'm 54 and heard that
most of my life. I decided probably 10 to 15 years ago that I didn't care whether it was the rule for plus size women or not, I was going to wear whatever I liked and not worry about what others say/said! Now I wear lots of color (usually in colors that I love, like shades of purple and pink with some teal or turquoise) along with some basic black, grey or navy thrown in. I also wear white or off white without the concern of whether I should or not...based on someone else's views on the rules of plus size fashion! If I find clothes that I really like and it's not in those "slimming colors"...I wear them anyway to make myself feel good! I'm glad to hear that you're doing the same, Wanda.
Sending love, light and big hugs to any and all that need it, k
So glad I found you today Carla because another stylist was saying women of a certain age blah blah blah shouldnât this shouldnât that. She was so depressing to me. Like I canât wear anything cropped even though Iâve dieted my way down to my optimum weight finally?? At age 62, Iâm not ready to crawl into a hole and disappear yet.
Welcome honey! The key is to wear what makes you feel most comfortable and trust your gut.The best is yet to come xoxo
Yes, lipstick always a must! I may run out with zero makeup, but my lips are always on! Love your collection of clothing and accessories, an art gallery for all to admire! We thank u!đ§đŠ
You are GENIUS!! A Brilliant Stylist. Thank you for these videos and your styling lessons. You have no idea how much we love you â€ïž
I love how when you do videos on how to do shapes it's never about shaming a certain body type, it's just about achieving the goal of the desired shape
THANK YOU CARLA!! Love the tip about finding an old bigger jean jacket and cutting it off!! đđ»đđšđŠđ€
Something about every cut / transition having you in a new outfit is so funny to me. LOVING your content lady!!!!
Thank you xoxo đâ€ïž
Dangit Iâve been doing the exact opposite, trying to intuit a waist, by buying tighter shirts.
I see what youâre saying here, very helpful!
Iâm just going to say it. I have a fat tummy/waist. The tips you give are great. I like a baggy overall with a tight t-shirt underneath and a cropped sweater or jacket. I love the dress with boots and cropped Jean jacket. Perfection. I like having nothing clinging to my waist and just break up that line. Youâre the best.
She is the best.
Holy crap that Zara patent leather dress was da *bomb* on you
Discovered you 2 days ago and am loving your content!! I work in a high-end resale boutique, and love seeing decades of fashion come through the store. Being 5 feet tall, I am using all your wonderful suggestions for waist definition. Bravo and thank you!
Momma DO you know how tall Carla is?
As someone who is improving my clothing style and looks. I really love your videos, theyre very informative and very fun to watch!!!đ thank you so much for the tipsđđ
Thank you so much!! So glad you enjoy
I've probably seen every Carla Rockmore video out there. This one is a favourite! LOVE your energy on the best days and the not-so-great days too, Carla!
Thanks for being so inclusive and encouraging
I just discovered your videos, and I canât stop watching them. After losing 50+ lbs and in need of a new wardrobe,I started watching âwhatâs in whatâs outâ fashion videos, and felt the life slowly being sucked out of me. Thanks for the refreshing, fun and inspiring videos!
Iâve watched all your TikTok videos and now am on to the CZcams videos. Please: hurry and make more content. Topics requested: 1) Demonstration of your ring collection (those vintage bauble ones) and tell us a story about these as they relate to your outfits. 2) Layering bangles, again, in relation to your outfits. 3) layering necklaces (or not layering, which seems to be your style). 4) Staying fit. Diet. Etc. Thank you.
Also, I am obsessed with St. John b/c I have to wear suits at work. Can you demo how to make these look less granny-like? Iâm your age. Thanks!
You are inspiring! Will do. Thank you đâ€ïž
Agreed. Iâm with Michelle. Keep going okplzthx.
I absolutely love your channel! It is helpful that you focus on fashion tips with an existing wardrobe. Your light hearted approach with your content is also endearing.
As is usual for me, I'm late to the party. This comes from
*A. Not being tech-savvy enought to find my way around Instagram/TikTok/Whatever;
*B. COVID, which I have found to be an excellent excuse for damn near anything you don't want to do; and
*C. While over 50 does describe me it also does not. I'm 73 (nearly 74) so to me 50 means just out of high school.
But thanks to the New York Time I have found you and am LOVING what I see so far (this is the third video--out of order--that I've seen) and while MY closet is about the size of a half bath, and my budget per annum is less than the cost of one glass of your wine, I'm familiar with a lot of the principles you are showing. I'm looking forward to looking back on what you have been doing during the months where I've been RELISHING the perfect excuse for doing NOTHING.
Much love.
i so appreciate and adore this!! xoxo welcome....and i still don't understand how to navigate these platforms đâ€ïž
Love these lessons. My body shape has changed dramatically post-menopause. Bye-bye, small waist, and flat tummy. But I'm learning to embrace my softer self.
Oh I just Love the 80âs shirt dress! It looks wonderful on you!
Please do some more ! You're fashion sense is such an inspiration to fashionable 40 something and 5o somethings !

This is so good!! I am 20something, and trying to up my game so people will take me seriously đđ I love the way you explain things, and if you feel inclined to drop a skincare video I would not mind haha
You are a breath of fresh air. I love your style & energy. Watching your videos has helped me utilize some of my older, vintage pieces. Can't wait to see what you'll do next.
I just randomly clicked on this channel too and got mesmerized...and stayed for the show...binge watched all the "shorts". I'm 57 and really don't care about fashion at all, but you are so full of energy, quick witted, and funny to watch. (In a good way!) Its quite enjoyable..†and who knows maybe I will pick up a tip or two along the way, but honestly it just so fun to watch...âș p.s. I'm in the same i.b.t. club and so refreshing to find someone be so ok with it! Thank you...I feel validated now.. đOur culture wants B.I.G.đ€Ș

Her tips apply to everyone! Im a size 22/24 and am still using them :)
@@katywalker1048 oh Katy! I want so desperately to dress nice and have style. I have a chicken body style (big boobs and belly, fit legs because they have to support this weight). I am in the South and sweat bullets above temps of 70âs and my coworkers are all cold natured. I have so much shopping to do to find a good look. I live in leggings. So unfashionable.
@@OutSidrQQn Iâm starting with things I own already, I have a pretty extensive collection of costume jewelry thanks to paparazzi brand so Iâm starting there. I to am and apple shape and am trying dresses that I already have in my closet.

Great advice here.
You are a pleasure to see and hear.
At last, a perfecto balance of speaking and showing the objective... Perfecto, talented, amusing and Beauty... Congrats and thanks to you!!! đ€đ„đâïžâïžâïž
Carla, your stylings are most often on point, especially herein. Though the sweater dress and cropped denim still seemed boxy. Instead, the same boots and dress paired with a somewhat wide belt slouched at the hips with the dress midriff material pulled blouson over the belt to create a waistline while still forgiving enough to hide waistline bloating, etc. would create more shape.
Thank you
I Love your style and sharing info fashion tricks and bonus clothes. Just Love, Love, your fashion shares.
