Why doesn't Alex turn his punches over? He throws all his strikes with the thumb up, I'm assuming because it blends the angles so his straight punches, upper cuts and hooks all look the same.

I’m pretty sure turning your hand over increases the reach on the punch he also puts pressure on people and closes the distance so it makes sense that he would go thumbs up

he's going for power over distance, he's usually in the pocket or evading backwards when he lands his hooks

Because a lot of that turning your hand over, karate mumbo jumbo makes no actual difference on the impact of the punch. All that matters is that the punch connects, and is powerful. Alex has a supreme mind body connection with his punches now because of the years and years of training. He can do whatever he wants because he knows exactly how to hit with his hands.
