  • Part 3 -This will be a four part series. I will take everything out from under the rear of the car (1) then replace all the suspension bushings (2) and do a full service to the differential (3) and then finally re-install everything (4) on my 84 C4 Corvette. 1984 was the only year the Dana 36 was used on the manual transmission cars but it was used in all the C4 automatic transmission cars.

Interesting... just starting on my D44 tonight, the stubs have little cups that shield/protect the seals and the batwing bolts are a 15mm head instead of 13mm. I bought a gasket to use for the housing/batwing union, what's your take on gasket vs straight sealant?
I also noticed it looks like you went with the SuperPro bushings... do you like 'em? I got a full set to do my '85, doing the rears while the diff is out/apart.

Ya Some came with the cups and some did not. 1984 was the only year that a stick car came with a D36, 85 they switched to the D44 if you had a stick shift car. Mine did not have a gasket just sealer and most of the Dana's I have serviced did not have a gasket from the factory of course these were mostly Dodge trucks. Love the Super Pro bushings, I bought the entire kit myself there are several videos that I made on them Hopefully it can help. Thanks for watching!

Did you say that front nut is 1-1/8“? Thank you for the video!
