Liverpool FC all the way! I adopted LFC when I was stationed in England back in the 90s. A friend and I used to travel to Cheshire, his cousin lived in the area, quite often and spent lot of time invading the pubs of Warrington & Liverpool. Good times!

Tottenham Hotspur! Great young electric team, Hueng Min Son is one of the greatest players ever. Vikings and Hotpsur hung out and jersey swapped and they came and played in US Bank Stadium 2018.

As a european I have chosen Vikings for fun. Not much fun so far😄
I’m a fan of soccer, but being an American I feel like I can’t claim an English football team for my own so I don’t have a PL team per say, I enjoy watching the big names, Manchester, Manchester city, Chelsea, etc, but much like how I watch the NBA, I just have favorite players, not a favorite team. I feel like Andy would be a pulisic fan.

That's the best way to go about it. I'm Scottish so I only support my local team and find the idea of being a fan of a big club half way around the world very bizzarre. You can watch plenty of football and not be a fan of any of the clubs playing and still enjoy it

Love it, Andy. When I got into the NFL, it was your videoes that drew me to the Vikings, and now the turntables.
Personally, Im a fan of Man United. Man United is a very special club. It has a soul and culture that is unique. When you get into what United is, you Will fall in love. The squad is definitely up and coming. United Will be up there for years to Come. And btw we hate the Glazers too.
A few comments on the other teams. I have to admit Liverpool is also a pretty special club with a clear identity. They also has the best coach itw imo. But, their squad is old, and has definitely peaked already. Be careful about supporting them right now.
Stay away from Spurs and Arsenal. Endless suffering.
Chelsea and City are great teams and great organizations. Both will be up there with United for years. Their problem is their ownership is largely based on sports washing, covering over human rights abuses (City) or corruption (Chelsea) I get it if you choose one of these two, but you definitely should pick United. 😁 let me know if you have any questions

I went with Chelsea because: They’ve had recent success and expect to have more, they’re in London so easier to catch a match, sponsored by Nike, plus it’s a top team, but not Thee top team … oh and I paired with them on an online quiz lol
Wife went with Man Utd because she works there and that’s who her colleagues support.

I’ve always been fascinated with how Liverpudlians have a very differential view to the rest of country to put it mildly. Many fans even going as far to not support the England national team. Bleachers collapsing from overcapacity, electric fans, and many legends. Also Leicester City and their title run captures why I like the BPL for a whole sleuth of different reasons compared to the NFL.
When i was picking my NFL team, I chose based on the culture of the place and the culture of the fans. If you want passionate fan culture from an extremely friendly place that's just different to the rest of the country, then liverpool is your best choice, especially with recent success and Jurgen Klopp. Honestly just don't pick the oil/slave labour rich teams which are owned by middle Eastern royalty or Russian oligarchs (I.e. Man City, Chelsea and PSG).
I used to crawl the pubs & clubs in Liverpool back in the 90s. I remember Albert Docks & the Cavern Club. I know it's not the original club.

Also it's not Manchester City, it's Manchester City (sit-ay). And the Gallagher bros. did own the team for a few years. The jerseys did have OASIS across the front at that time.

To answer your question, the championship league used to be the highest league until 1992 when some clubs decided to break away and form their own league, the Premiere League. Then they became the better league and teams got relegated to the next best league, The Championship
Hey!!! Pulisic is from EASTERN Pennsylvania...he would have been the kicker for the Eagles (I know that's tough as a Vikings fan...genuinely sorry). Hershey, PA is about 90minutes outside of Philly.

New fan here as well. Started by watching CZcams footballers which made me want to watch the premiere league. As a Canadian, I have no clue who to support. Guess I need to watch more games before deciding.

-good fan base

I support a team in the championship which is the league below. However if I was in the US and wanted to pick a team to follow I would do Leicester. Now a solid top 6 team and would be so satisfying if they were to do well again. Also they have the best owner who loves the club who took over from his dad who died just outside the stadium. That alone makes me want them to win everything as my team QPR can’t :(

My dude, the beauty of our football league here is that any team can play and win promotion to the premier league. Get a map of England and Wales, throw a dart and go for the closest team to that.
I don’t think Spurs are at all like the Vikings - I’d say Vikings are more like Newcastle - good spell in the nineties and early naughty and have been ropey ever since.
I know an American who is a Blackburn fan and that’s huge respect from me.
Gotta be manchester united, as of right now, imo they are in a similar position to the Vikings in trying to put the pieces together to potentially challenge for the league. A young exciting squad full of young players so have an exciting few years ahead of us.

From someone that follows European soccer really closely, don’t be a man city. It could be fun since they tend to win a lot and have so many fun players, but there is no history at the club. They basically bought their way to success more than any other team in the prem. If I had to choose for you, I’d tell you to be a Chelsea or Man United fan. Both teams have incredibly bright futures and they play a fun style of ball.
Go for Leicester. Good team that isn’t full of bandwagon fans like Chelsea, Man United etc. Their title win in 2016 was the greatest achievement in English football history. Yes, other big teams had a bad season, but I can’t emphasize enough how against all odds it was. They were 5000/1 to win the title at the start of the season. It’s not like American football where any team can become good after a decent off season, it’s generally a small club of teams that dominate because they’re so much richer than the rest, and there’s no salary cap or draft.
I would recommend my team, Crystal Palace, but we could easily be relegated!
The closest you'll get to purple other than purple is blue. Why not be different and support Everton. They are the other Liverpool club. They are an historic club too and are building a new stadium.

In terms of proper football teams that you have noted I would pick Man City. They have history, and proper fans and although they were pumped with money to win, they play fantastic football (unlike Chelsea 🤮). This is all coming from a Middlesbrough fan (in the championship) who has had to put up with being shitty forever, but hey that’s where I’m from! But honestly that’s part of the fun, getting promoted is an electric feeling, much better than being a mid table premier league side with nothing to care about each year. Also don’t pick newcastle they’re my rivals 😂

I would go Chelsea. I'm very biased have been a fan for many years. They have the best American start and are generally loaded. Always on TV and easily watchable. The management is outstanding and the owner is a powerful and scary Russian oligarch. Also it's a young team and set for another dynasty run. It's quality to watch they way the play.

Why a Premier League? Real football can be found in the lower leagues where there are no primadonnas on £200k a week. I support Gillingham Fc in League 2 who are now owned by an American family from Florida. We've high hopes this season of promotion back to L1. I don't really take a lot of notice of the Premier league, although I have followed Chelsea for over 50 years.
