- Take a look behind-the-scenes at the 2023 PRI Show in Indianapolis. My wife, @leahpruett777, and I announced Leah will step aside from NHRA competition in 2024 to focus on starting a family. I'm very humbled that Leah and Neal Strausbaugh felt I was the driver to fill in for her. I'm really proud of her and excited for the opportunity to race with our family at #TSRnitro.

Been a fan of Tony's since seeing him race at Kokomo (my home town) and was so glad to see him go into Indy cars. He's been my favorite driver ever since. Hated to see him leave Indy and go to NASCAR, but he ended up making me a fan of NASCAR, too. Now, it has been nice to get to know Leah and become a fan of hers, too. They make a good couple and will make a great family.
Tony and Leah, I'm big fans of yours. Love the NASCAR sport and top fuel Drag Racing. I wish you both well in the new season and can't wait to see a new addition to the family. God bless you guys. Stay safe and keep winning.

@@ericbeckersr4431 Tony did quite well in A/Fuel this year. Finished second in the world to Julie Nataas, the Norwegian who drives for Randy Meyer. Tony had the best average reaction times in the class. The A/Fuel car drives mostly like Top Fuel, so he shouldn't lose that performance edge. 2024 will be fun to watch.

I follow Clay too so I already knew ! But congrats to you two on a tough having made what I'm sure was a tough decision for you both. Personally I'm not sure Leah is totally happy about it though. Just my impression, I could be wrong. Not trying to start trouble ! No matter, I'll be following. I've always liked and respected Tony for his "tell it like it is" persona in NASCAR, and I'm sure that will continue no matter what division on motorsports he's in. Looking forward to "More In '24" !!
It was Leah's decision to start the family. As for Tony, Lyle Barrett was who Leah and Neil had pretty much settled on to replace her in the car until Tony reminded them he had some 30 runs in a Top Fuel car and besides finishing second in the World in A/Fuel, he had the best average reaction times in the class. No reason to think he won't be a good leaver in Top Fuel.
Only a driver Like Smoke could KINDA keep up with Leah! Congratulations on starting your family. So know i know boy or girl my kids will have a driver or drivers to pull for. Cause boy or girl you can bet your ass one thing for sure it will be able to wheel a car. Fast to.. Smoke can drive anything,anywhere and any time, equally with Leah and most importantly FAST. Tony please can you look at some 410 action from a 20year old driver Tanner Holmes Racing. He has a big CZcams following. He raced for Bobby Allen Shark racing. He's raced with Logan the million dollar man and Jacob Allen. I seen him pass Donny several during his short Outlaw races. I was hoping if you get a chance to see some of his races. That you are willing to help him with with his racing program his car number is 18T. He is out of Jackson, Oregon. Please help him he is a very good guy looking to move forward in his career. Ps He's a Ford man and his sister Carly at the age of 15years old. Out does any mechanics out there she can build a sprint car from frame to running with no problem. She also is very good wheel person also. Please if it is possible can you reach out to him. And may you have plenty of babies for so they can take over the family business. God bless you both. 😊

Not hardly. Leah has a World Championship under her belt, in a different Eliminator, and was one pass away from the Top Fuel Championship this year.
Danica won 1 race in IndyCar and absolutely nothing in NASCAR. Her handlers rushed her through Xfinity into Cup, chasing money rather than experience. Did her a giant disservice.
Leah worked her way up from the Jr Dragsters, as a kid, and has driven all kinds of cars. Pro Mod, Funny Car, even jets.

Wow Lyle Barnett would have been an incredible addition to your team, if you know anything about social media or or popularity of the sport I don’t know how you could pass him up
Lyle would have been a good choice. The only thing is he's never driven a nitro car. Tony has around 30 something runs in a Top Fuel car and had a spectacular rookie season in A/Fuel. Finished second in points to Julie Nataas, and had the best average reaction times in the class. If the car owner hadn't bought a used magneto that was not in spec, which caused a disqualification, Tony might have beat Julie. The two swapped the lead back and forth much of the season.
Tony's nitro experience is why Lyle lost out. Just being considered raises his profile though.
