    In this video I share some of the easiest ways to test and check your silver and gold coins at home. It is important to understand how to test coins at home in a variety of ways as none of them are definitive. Testing coins at home can be done easily without damaging coins and can be a really good way to tell if something is wrong.

    Very good example of ways to test coins for fakes there's a lot of fake coins out there and sadly there's people who don't know how to make sure that they are real before they buy it's like someone giving you 100 dollar bills and slipping a few fake ones and you not knowing

    Hiding in my trigger wallet is a certain size Valcambi bar of gold in assay which has a big enough rectangular groove to fit one of those Rare Earth magnets in it that hides under a gold test card from the GoldLock website so that I'm able to test for gold anywhere I am but also I keep some other things in my wallet. Also, there's nothing like having that ping test app on your phone. Comes in handy quite often especially if you aren't in a noisy area when testing. And of course you can buy yourself a pocket pinger to go perfectly well with the app

    I think the RM perhaps could do some bullion international coins and drive up standards or give patrons a safer sense of legitamcy of the coin.

    Regarding 3:18, a dial caliper can be used to accurately measure the diameter and thickness of a coin. Furthermore, a dial caliper does not require any battery @ czcams.com/video/XpjHKdp-33E/video.html

    2:45 Did you say still a little bit over on that World of Dragons at 31.08g? That is less than 31.103g. I have some ‘80s Libertads that weight as little as 30.727g, 30.791, 31.022, 31.049, 31.071. Their dimensions are all close to 35.95mm x 3.45mm, but the worst one is 35.84mm x 3.4mm. I even have a 2013 at 31.028g. What do you think? Are Libertads not as precisely made as others?

      :) I live in Germany, so I've noticed that Germans, lately, only put the minimum, strictly necessary into the AESTHETIC design of products (see airports, coins etc). That's why I favor UK Royal Mint bullion coins, they're SO BEAUTIFUL !! 🌞 (for example Britannia). I buy German bullion coins too though, to support the local economy and cuz, as far as I've heard, they're so much less likely to be counterfeited, when compared to PAMP or Perth Mint products, just cuz counterfeiters don't do it yet.

    You can also put it in the capsule it's supposed to fit in and if it doesn't fit, because it is too thick, you will definitely know it's fake, especially if it is too lose in the capsule as well

      I got capsules that fit maple leafs perfect but my philarmonicas are slightly loose is that just a coin difference or is the philli fake?

    • @DollzDolly
      @DollzDolly Před 9 měsíci

      @@wendytestaburger8321 I'd be a little leary of it not being authentic, sizes are pretty uniformed, so if it's in the right size capsule that it should fit, there should not be any room for it to move and the capsule should snap together with no issue.
      Make sure you have the right size capsule, if so, and it's to loose or doesn't fit, chances are it's probably not legit. I'd take it in to your local coin shop and have it verified by sigma or metal analyzing device.
      There is a slight difference in diameter between a maple leaf and a philharmonic so they will not fit the same size capsule. Maple leaf is 37.97 mm and philharmonic is a 37 mm diameter

    They need to price these more at the consumer market rather than the professional end of the spectrum. There is a large market for the taking if they did that. The underlying components wouldn't cost that much, but it's economies of scale isn't it. I'd say 450 GBP, under 1000AUD would be the ticket to broad market take-up. And then we can destroy as a collective of stackers, the counterfeit trade.

      We buy from a reputable source (silver and gold store). They go through a lot of testing and people before it hits the floor. If an employee buys a fake and passes it, the next person will see that, the coin is discarded and that employee is fired
