Tuckerman Ravine (Chute and Dodge's) - Late Season Desperation

  • Doug and I originally intended on skiing Yale Gully, which would’ve required perfect conditions since it’s a complex ski mountaineering line. When we got to the parking lot, we decided to go to Tuckerman Ravine instead because the night's rain likely worsened the thin sections that would’ve already been challenging with the previous week's conditions. We skinned through fog and dirt to the ravine, but to our surprise found pretty stellar conditions despite the desperate approach. It just goes to show ya, it ain't over till it's over.

Blizzard Bonafides. A little heavy for the tour but they’re my rock skis.

@@extreme_ryan_delena nice! Do you recommend those skis for steep and technical terrain? Also what do you think about the black crow solis?

Big Jay is pretty straightforward. Just kinda follow the tracks. Make you have a car spot because otherwise it’d be a long walk
