Yeah - having watched the behind the scenes when they were practicing doing the stop on the other side of the road, and maybe turning to go 90° if the crossing wasn’t Ok, it looks like a spur of the moment thing to “go for it” and cross the road instead, and the timing just landed perfect…serendipity - somethings are just meant to be :)

That doesn't fit the rest of the rhymes though. Everything else makes sense, but that wouldn't. "A flick knife with no one to complain to'". Yes it could have a meaning solely on it's own if someone really wanted to make a stretch. But within the rhyme, it doesn't fit with all the other comparisons it's meant to be with.

I believe the pixelated word, as is in Nas’s ‘92 lyrics is a ‘f’ word used (at that time 😞) to refer to a gay man. Don’t quote me & no misinterpreting hate please, saw same comment in Patreon re this.
I wondered if it was the n word, also used a lot in Nas' original. A way of him showing that while he can embrace a lot of rap culture there are some elements he can't even emulate in tribute and he understands that. But I don't know how it would fit with the "complain to" half of the bar. But none of the proposed options do fit that.
I thought perhaps it is very deliberately not anything, as in a kind of choose-your-own-adventure slight against whoever the listener is annoyed by the complaints of, designed to be controversial because of our interpretation rather than his intention.

Ren's Pirate Scheme and Atom Scheme are there for a reason. Ren is playing 4D Chess not Checkers. I saw a great quote from a renegade that Ren was playing 4d chess while others were paying checkers and even the reactors were missing that. I can see two good examples for this in the Halftime retake 1) at 1.07 Ren spits his pirate scheme and "Wavy Guy ".. Kid Wave was the first MC name used by Nas before he became Nasty Nas. 2) at 1.22 he goes into the Oppenheimer scheme of diamonds neutrons and atoms etc.... Why? could it be because the original beat used by Nas for Halftime was sampled from an earlier rap album called 'Breaking Atoms' ? Now that's 4D Chess playing rap and its blowing my mind !

Dotta is a bit of a novelty at the moment because of the 180 he has done on Ren. I'm glad to see him taking a different tack and getting involved in the community in a positive way, because the bit I didn't like before was the aggro in comments. So it's good, but I'm still kinda unsure how genuine it is. Either way, whether he has become a fan or is just having to lean into the reactions to stay afloat, it still shows that collaboration can be as fruitful as competition. 😊

I've come across your reactions recently even though I've been in the ren rabbit hole since almost a year - maybe they seemed too long at that point, so I skipped, but now I really I appreciate your work and watch your reactions to all the older songs. For a non-native speaker as me, it's often hard to understand the lyrics or catch all cultural references, so it's really fun to watch you. Words like "it's dope" don't bring anything to my life, I know that already about ren's music. Your breakdowns teach me something and are super-intelligent. There are for sure people with bad intentions - it’s a lucrative business and that attracts nefarious beings - but they are not the majority.
