- The more I travel in Africa, the more I'm intrigued by the discoveries I make from my personal observations and interactions with locals, how similar we are as Africans. I am in Tamale, northern Ghana and all I can say based on all I've observed and questions I've asked is that Tamale, northern Ghana is northern Nigeria in Ghana. Watch to see what I mean.

No they have their own distinct culture and language....same are Muslim...please do better research next time.
@@okey9236 She is right. the ancestors of dagombas actually came from Gombe in Nigeria. Our ancestor migrated from Gombe to Zanfara, Mali, Burkina and to Pusiga in Upper East region. While our second generation ancestor was in Burkina he was called DANGOMBE that is how the name dagomba came about becuase people mispronuonce it.
I am a Ghanaian but have never visited the Northern part of Ghana before,am definitely visiting when I get to Ghana
Sadly me too....
Guy you miss alot, tour round your country to see more.
I could tour you around if that’s cool
I miss Tamale a lot. I can see Lamashegu round about, Aliu Mahama Stadium and the Central Mosque. Aboabo Market too in the picture.
I can't wait to visit!!!
I want to go home 😭 Yaa Allah you make me miss home.
Brilliantly produced content. You could'nt have had a better Host or Narrator of the history and culture of the people Tamale, than the Honorable Prince Ayoko. A noble man in my own opinion.
I had goosebumps watching this upload. Just Brilliant 👌🏾
Thank you so much big sis. It's such an honour having Prince Ayoko as my host. More amazing videos coming
I can't wait to see the celebrated Tamale! 🇬🇭 Best kept secret!????
Tamale is fantastic 😂
Greetings to you my sister Virtue Grace and all our families here on your channel, how are you all doing?
It was an honor hosting our sister and I'm glad she had a good time in Tamale. Hoping to meet you again in the near future.

You always welcome my sister
Thank you for hosting VG Prince Ayoko 😍
That's where my Ancestours came from before they got shipped to Jamaica!
intresting, what ancestory test gave you this results? or did you know through family?
@@user-lj1kn8pr6b i did a dna, im from jamaica. it said a mix between BK faso, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin (part of nigeria at the time) and togo. I think most of us are from here since we moved south after the arabs destroyed songhai and the askia was overthrown. From there the portuguese and others came from the south and the traders came north to collect us (hence the long norther walk from there to the slave coast). None of these countries or borders existed until 1800s berlin conference so i think its fair to say most jamaicans can say they are of songhai. But remember although they were muslims it was mostly the non muslim (dogon and spirirtual 'tribes' who were stolen since the way to avoid slavery was to convert to christianity or islam. Most of the ancestors would have followed a kmtic style like the dogon still do today. Hope this helps, family. Dna tests are hella expensive :)
read timbuktu chronicles, they preserved our history and buried it. its been published and available to read.
There is Benin city which is a city in Nigeria Edo state and Benin Republic. So don't think Bénin republic was part of Nigeria before it becomes independant. Benin city is still in Nigeria.

Prince Ayoko is the real deal when it comes to the people of Northern Ghana...he is well vested in the history of the people from the North...great content please keep it up!!!
Tamale is green. Nature is wonderful and beautiful. I am happy Prince Ayoko is your host. Their culture is like that of nothern Nigeria. I love guinea fowl it taste better than chicken. Please do a video on Queens guest house that is another beautiful house. Thank you for sharing and stay well and safe. Best.
Hey Mummy UK, how are you doing?
Sister grace really enjoyed her stay in Tamale

Very lovely place ❤️ Hausa Nigeria and Ghana are very nice people with a very similar culture as Yoruba grow up in northern part of Nigeria when an Hausa Ghanian see an Hausa Nigeria he always treated him with a full respect same way to Nigeria to Ghanian
Now we all know Ghana and Naija is so close than we thought. People from Accra and now the North have the same heritage to Nigeria, Mali, Burkina etc. Africa has always been homogeneous with each other until the European came and they brought divide and rule. Stop the hate among us and let get the criminals among us out. Ghana/ Naija always family.
it’s not true with the “africa has always been homogenous with each other”
@@TrulyAlkaline actually true.. My mom says our roots are from Old Mali Empire. Mad history man!!
So glad you linked with Prince Ayoko. He is a great person
As a Nigerian I will like to visit tamale inshallah.
You should

Well done my sister for visiting Tamale. You are right, northern Ghana and northern Nigeria have things in common. In fact historically, the ancestor of the Dagomba tribe came from GOMBE the northern state of Nigeria. Our ancestor migrated from Gombe to Zanfara as hunter. He later moved to Mali got married with children. The children then moved to present day Burkina and the locals refer to them as DANGOMBE ('son of Gombe' in Hausa). As time passed by people mispronounce the name as DAGOMBA. Historically I will say the Dagombas are from Hausa lineage. There are similar words of Hausa you will find in Dagbanli. For example Katari, alkawali, Leife, Amarya, sadachi, shinkafa, Kose etc. and names like Wanzam, Zangina and Sanda. They actually share the same culture pertaining to weddings, funerals, costume etc. above all both tribes are predominantly Muslims.
we migrated through Nigeria but our origins are actually from east of the Lake Chad and Sudan before that,i disagree with you when you say we are of Hausa lineage,we speak ,understand and communicate fluently in Hausa because most Muslims from Burkina Faso Mali, Niger and Nigeria speak Hausa and we have historically had interactions with these group of people even till this day but we are a distinct group of people from the Hausa.
I didn't know Tamale is that huge, diverse, modern and authentic African
Modern and authentic where??lol
You think Tamale is a village? Mind you, it's 3rd largest City in ghana.
Thank you prince Ayoko. For hosting our princess

Love it, very informative.
Tamale has a special place in my heart, I was there for a long time earlier this year.
The similarities between the two countries are good...I'm sure there are more similarities.
Northern Ghanaian arenot the same as northern Nigerians...they have their distinct culture and language...
Wow...interesting! A traveller is indeed more knowledgeable than an old person that lived just in one place. Thank you for your detailed docu-series 😊
I can attest to this. What I've learnt traveling within Africa is what I possibly wouldn't have learnt staying in one location
Virtue Grace you are too much. All I can say is #respect 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Yes oo. In Ghana we can easily identify Nigerians not by dressing but their look. They hv a unique look
What’s the look I’m curious?
You make me hungry to go back to Africa ❤️. The continent of Africa was divided by the Europeans, but we’re one people
Great job my lovely
Hey wait! No fish 🐟 base soup 🍲? 👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿. I see your glasses was giving you a little wahala, it wanted to taste the food as well. Thanks for sharing.
Nice seeing you in my region
Thank you
Greetings to you Virtue Grace !
Aye!!! I tell myself, " I know the voice Ohh". And there he is Prince Ayoko. The Ambassador of Tamale.
Tamale has so many untapped potential, is like 1820 in New your city, and you were presented an opportunity to buy a land in Manhattan and your bought a whole lot of acres of land , can you imagine were your great grandchildren life will become? Ignore the dirt you see around if you have a vision that dirt looks like gold, those who have eyes to see and ears to hear let them pay attention, to what is happening on the ground.
It is a place to invest in
You said it all. Very fertile land it's worth looking at. There are natural resources for us to tap on. God bless Africa.
It's very good that youtube's are networking it's very healthy 👌thanks Ayoko for hosting Grace and I know she is in a good hands, we can't wait for the grand opening of Queens gust House
You welcome my brother, we are all one people. Queens Guest House is coming along nicely
I pray I'm able to make it for that grand opening and be one of the first guests.
Hi vigur grace am watching u from Nairobi Kenya very amazing videos ak pls
Thank you
Great history. Matondo Grace .
The Mole-Dagbons or the people of northern Ghana actually migrated from the north east of Lake Chad according to oral tradition. After they moved to Zamfara in modern day Nigeria. Before they gradually got to Ghana and southern regions of Burkina Faso.
I'm sat here thinking Kai gound nut oil what I would give for just a taste, it has been over 30 years. I'm sat here thinking Kai the men in Tamale all sound the same, this guide sound like my man Prince Ayoko and bam there he is. Salute.
He is right about saying they will think you Ashanti.
It’s basically due to your hight and demeanour, any Ghanaian will think you Akan lady till you speak.
Interesting
@@africanstoryteller Yes youlook like an Akan woman. Even your demeanor will give you away as an Akan woman.
mThe food is what most Ghanaians eat on Sundays.
Nice video dear, thanks for sharing
Thanks dear
Thanks
In northern Nigeria we used only one meat in the soup/stew
The men didn't not wear Atampha as a top/riga and we are not pronounced F for Tuwon Shinkafa clearly some of us says P instead F
Nice place for holiday.
Very educative. Keep up.
Thank you
What a great history.
Interesting. Let me watch & comment when done
It makes me feel the vibes or north for real others uses foreign music or songs

Isn’t it ironic?
I remember Wodemaya accompanying American Drew Binsky to Northern Ghana, and he seemed rather wary and clearly apprehensive on the video!
I couldn’t understand it!
And the very next month he was in our own Kano state in northern Nigeria and he seemed free and happy as a bird !
