On one hand, it took me a while to get into LOVEBITES and even longer to get into Nemophila. People don’t have to like everything right away. On the other hand, I was never dismissive of them the way this lady is. I like Joel, but I’ll be skipping the other videos with this person in them unless he breaks out WGB.

Hey Joel, i honestly love that you bring so many of your colleagues and frinds to bands like Lovebites, i really respect the hell of you for that. ;) But could you do me a favour, there are so many more live clips and videos of LB and you seem to stick with the same ones most of the time. ;) Could you maybe bring in more of the other clips ? Thanks, i appreciate it. Your videos are great, and thanks again for helping lets say more unknown artists (for sure outside of Japan, since their Record labels seem to do s*** for them to becoming more known internationally) to get more into the hear say of other people. I see so many bands from Europe or US tour in Japan, but noone takes a band like LB for their concerts as opener or some like that. Kinda sucks. I mean, they are even in their country, and as it can be seen and heard from the artists how great they are, yet the bands from other countries even in Japan dont take on a band like this as opener. Its sad to see. Anyone presenting for example LB, like you and many others on CZcams, everyone counts to help hopefully change that. But so far its sad to see how few bands really care.
But i really enjoyed the guys from Skid Row I have to say, they seem like great dudes. ;) Hope they come back to your videos again. Cheers from Germany, take care Joel. ;)
I'm sorry ... but everything is not so bad.🤗 Prior to the Covid 19 pandemic, LOVEBITES were the opening act for famous bands, played major music events, toured outside of Japan. Many professionals, serious international music media, well-known critics know them well .
November 2017 - LOVEBITES played 3 concerts in London (UK). The band attracted the attention of representatives of the music industry.
April 1, 2018 - LOVEBITES performance at the world's largest traveling international music festival Warped Tour (Chiba, Japan).
June 11, 2018 - LOVEBITES in London (UK) received the prestigious GOLDEN GODS Award from Metal Hammer in the nomination "Best New Band". There were many world-famous musicians, bands, producers, show business figures, etc. at the presentation of the GOLDEN GODS Award.
August 4, 2018 - performance of LOVEBITES at the largest rock festival of heavy music Wacken Open Air (Wacken, Germany). 197 bands performed at Wacken Open Air -2018 ( including JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN, ARCH ENEMY, GHOST, DORO, NAZARETH, CHILDREN OF BODOM, VINCE NEIL, EPICA, DOKKEN, SEPULTURA, WINTERSUN, NIGHTWISH, DIRKSCHNEIDER )
August 10, 2018 - performance at Bloodstock Open Air (UK). About 130 bands performed at Bloodstock Open Air -2018 (including JUDAS PRIEST, NIGHTWISH, DORO, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES , KAMELOT). LOVEBITES performed on the main stage of the festival ( Ronnie James Dio Stage). The 2018 Ronnie James Dio Stage featured performances by JUDAS PRIEST and KAMELOT.
November 2018 - LOVEBITES held a series of concerts as part of their European Tour ( Netherlands, Germany, France , UK )
March 2019 - LOVEBITES perform at ARCH ENEMY concerts (opening act), in Beijing and Shanghai (China)
June 2019 - during the month LOVEBITES perform at THREE International rock festivals: Download Festival (Donington,UK, about 120 bands), Download Festival (Madrid, Spain, 35 bands), Graspop Metal Meeting (Dessel, Belgium, about 110 bands).
In 2019, these festivals featured famous bands like SCORPIONS, WHITESNAKE, WITHIN TEMPTATION, CHILDREN OF BODOM, SLIPKNOT, KISS, DEF LEPPARD, SABATON, SLAYER, IN FLAMES, JINJER, HALESTORM, ROB ZOMBIE, EPICA, TRIVIUM, DELAIN, DREAM THEATER, ANTHRAX, TESTAMENT, SKID ROW, SLASH & MILES KENNEDY, UFO, SONATA ARCTICA , LYNYRD SKYNYRD.
* Asami (lead vocals) was invited on stage to sing "Love Bites (So Do I)" with HALESTORM at the Download Festival Japan (March, 2019) and Download Festival UK (June, 2019)
November 2019 - joint tour of DRAGONFORCE and LOVEBITES in the UK ( 11 concerts in different cities)
December 2019 - LOVEBITES perform in Tokyo as the opening act for HALESTORM.
January 10, 2020 - LOVEBITES perform a concert in Singapore.
What happened next was what we all went through. At the end of 2019, the first reports appeared about a new terrible virus that people in China are infecting and dying with. At the beginning of 2020, it was announced that the Covid-19 pandemic had begun in the world.
The pandemic (2020-2022) has prevented LOVBITES from holding concerts in other countries, performing at major international rock festivals, etc., due to bans on mass events. The concerts of the national Tours ( 2020 and 2021) of LOVEBITES in Japan have also been canceled and rescheduled many times. In addition, Miho (bass) left the band in 2021, Miyako (guitar) gave birth to a child. In July 2022, Asami (lead vocals) gave birth to a child. All these events caused a break in the concert activity of LOVEBITES.
* Miyako and Midori participate in exhibitions of professional musical equipment, including in the US (NAMM Show, California). Where at the stands of well-known companies - manufacturers of equipment they play guitars. That also helps to promote the band.
I don't see the necessity to vary too much which video he uses to introduce Lovebites to someone who has never heard of them before. I suspect you're coming from the perspective of someone who has watched a lot of Joel's videos. So it is YOU who wants variety. Joel's videos are about promoting Lovebites to his friends. The person who is new to Lovebites has never heard of them so naturally Joel should choose their best songs and videos so that they get the best first time impression of the band. Why would he choose a lesser song to introduce a band to someone? If you want them to like Lovebites then show them the best songs/videos. Joel has varied which video he uses. I think I have seen him use at least 3-4 different ones which is just right IMO. He knows his audience and is choosing the video that he feels is the best one for that person.
I wonder if the progressive stuff she heard about was from Atarashi Gakko? They're taking off like like a rocket.

Wow, calling them "Nerds" is the least I expected 😄 Not everyone will like the music, but none the less, you can't deny the amazing musicianship and talent all these young ladies have 🙂

Actually in their song Raise Some Hell the lyrics refer to themselves as chicks.

Hello Joel, a pleasure to follow your channel and I really appreciate your support to many of these bands, really with a lot of real talent and not so well known around here. It seems unfortunate to me, the presence of this guest, not because we agree or not in her opinions (that's why she's there, to give hers), but 1) To say that a band is Nerd because the theme of the video clip is about themes medieval, iit is something worrying, not only because of her disrespectful and arrogant opinion, but apparently this lady, whom I don't have the displeasure of knowing, like the vast majority here, doesn't know that the subject of a video clip depends from many people, even outside the band itself and which is also determined by the lyrics and the intention that they want to give to the song, according to the lady, who would Michael Jackson be then for making Thriller? was he a zombie? 2) To say that BAND MAID are whiny, is not only ridiculous and offensive, but it seems like the comment of a 7-year-old girl, not of someone who, as you present it, has experience in the subject. Sad and embarrassing really. 3) On your channel you have had everything, people who really liked the bands, intermediates and those who did not like it, but gave technical or style reasons, not opinions of children's and also, they gave them with respect, not like that . From his way of expressing himself, I agree, with many opinion makers, that apparently there is a personal issue, seeing so many beautiful... and talented... and successful ladies, there are too many incomprehensible things for the lady, too many frustrating things that she cannot criticize, and because in all those areas, there is a wide, very wide difference between the members of the bands that are opined about and the lady. Difference that only creates frustration, sarcasm, aggression and the absurd search for trying not to feel so little. Honestly, today I felt a lot of embarrassment from others for these foolish comments. Anyway, better luck next time with your guests, friend Joel.
Not much to say.. i appreciate what you try to do, bringing music insiders along for the ride, but sometimes those insiders seem to be pretty dismissive right from the beginning.. dont stop what youre doing though, the good outweighs the negative, and often tells us more about the music insider, than the artist(s) theyre reacting too.. thanks
Yeah - there have been some real good ones, but the last two haven't been all that great. At least this lady didn't scroll through her phone half way through the song like the last guy did.
I don't think any members of Lovebites even know what Dungeons and Dragons is. They may have watched Lord of the Rings though, because it was a popular set of movies. But they certainly aren't "nerdy". I did see her smile when the song kicked into full gear, so I know she liked them. It would have been nice to hear her say more about it.
The "insiders" I've seen so far on this channel skew very heavily to American men. And in case nobody's noticed (I have), American men in the music business are generally macho jerks who don't appreciate seeing women on stage other than as backup singers.
For the "nerdy" thing, i have seen at least quite some Star Wars figures standing around in Miyakos rooms 😄
But in the end, a lot of metal musicans are nerds and nothing at all of the rocker image that many people maybe have in mind.
Miyako is a well known Star Wars nerd.

She was so shock that the Japanese female Metal Band wear wedding/princess dressed play Metal and play their music instruments more advanced than her country boys....and in her head this female band should not wear anything, or half naked, just cover their nipples with duck tape like female singer and bands in her country 🤣🤣

This is why Lovebites is SLOWLY getting attention in the United States 🇺🇸. The competition doesn’t want to be near the same stage because Lovebites is at another level. They smoke the competition.

Most people in Japan are actually well-educated so I guess it's okay to call them "nerds". Good at numbers? Just because they're Asian? Pretty racist of her.
Maybe next time, just avoid having females react to all-female bands because they'll just get jealous.

This woman's life must not be easy every day because when you are so embittered it must be difficult. I saw her 2 reactions (The Warning and Lovebites) and nothing she likes! They are however 2 of the best bands currently. If not, what has this person done in her career? I am 71 years old and I had never heard of her. Bad faith, jealousy, incompetence? Who Joel I've seen all the reactions from your guests and they're generally right and you're objective yourself and that's why I love your channel, but this one is a disaster...

You should not try to cover it up with a compliment sentence that she gave almost out of commitment. We must be aware of the gestures and the moment in which things are said, not only what we want to hear.

There are great western metal bands out there and there are many great bands from Japan no reason to be derogatory. I mean Jinjer, Madtodon, Goijira, The Warning, Blind Guardian etc are good bands.

Floor Jansen is possibly the best female hard rock singer on the planet. For a woman who is responsible for merchandise (i.e. NOT a musician) to criticise Floor's singing is beyond laughable.
It's so crazy how arrogant Roadies and some bands are these days you mean that like the band you listen to you because you're high up on the standards of your there's always someone better than the next but for some people arrogant see and trying to stereotype is not the way to critique music if you're involved in music that's just my opinion. Harrigan c is high in the music world because everything sounds the same in the US there's got to be specific music pattern is got to be specific sound there's got to be total similarities . Well I'm getting off of my soapbox because I'm very frustrated you have some really great people from some really great bands and they really make you look bad maybe you should start interviewing with bands that are younger s relate to the new style of music. I've been in music for years but then I stopped because of things and people that you always have come on you're a great person but I don't think I can watch anymore and the best of you for your book and what you've done in your lifetime. But between the your Roadies and assorted other people that you work with I feel sorry for them thank you

A lot of people in here getting offended that she said the members may be kind of nerdy and that she wasn’t completely fawning over them. If you guys wanna know why so many people don’t venture into Japanese music, fanbases that get offended as soon as someone doesn’t love a band the way you guys do is a good example of why
