Nemophila has performed twice in the United States, the first time was at Whiskey a go go, and the second time was at the Aftershock Festival in October last year. And they will start their US tour in March this year🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Band now has TWO working moms! Singer is a brand new mom and drummer has two kids I have a weak spot for working moms (more so if they musicians).
NEMOPHILA played at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go in July 2022, and at AFTERSHOCK 2022, in Sacramento. Someone else left the dates for their 2023 US tour in another comment.
They came to Dallas, at the club called trees they absolutely delivered 👏 💯, I was there, I hope come back to bigger venue sometime soon so looking forward to seeing them again. 😊
Nemophila played a festival in Sacramento last Oct. And will be in Austin for two days for that festival in Mar I think, and another show in NY I think.
J-Metal needs to be more known out here. NEMOPHILA and BAND-MAID are blooded road warriors with US tours under their belt already. They are at the vanguard of the J-wave hitting the West. HANABIE just announced they will be at the Blue Ridge Rock Fest this September. Hoping LOVEBITES follows. 🤘🤘

Nemophila have played in the US twice and are doing a few gigs this March - I would suggest not hesitating and getting tickets today - they are excellent live.

Since you enjoyed Mayu's vocals, you should listen to Nemophila's _Seize The Fate_ ... her lower register tone is mind-blowing.
This song is mostly English, with just a few Japanese lyrics during the choruses. There is a "US Version" that is entirely in English.
A couple other terrific "two-way" (cleans + screams/growls) female vocalists from Japan: Regan (Saiseiga), Remi (RagDollz/Orochi).
In this song (and several others), Mayu sings in both English and Japanese. Her English is still somewhat rudimentary, but guitarist Saki is pretty fluent and helps with both the lyric writing and Mayu's pronunciation.

I will turn the questions on you. I’ve watched many reactions/all to Nemophila. EVERY guest you have had mentions the drummer. Why is that? Tamu is my favorite by far and consistently ranked very high in Drummers magazine top world 100 drummers. Of course I do not want to minimize the rest of the group, who are absolutely in Tamu’s class.

Yukina is amazing. Such a voice in a girl 149 cm tall!
I prefer when she sings like a real singer than when she screams and growls. Exceptionally gifted musicians. And those two guitar players are absolutely stunning.

to answer the question @5:47 this song is actually 80% english and 20% japanese. if you turn the CC on you get the english subs and you can tell, especially during her screaming parts, that most of what she is singing is in english. Her english knowledge isnt the best, she is still learning. So she still has that japanese accent in her voice and words. but once you see the english subs, for some reason, it all clicks and can understand her. and it will stick with ya after that. and if you do go with Band Maid, personally, i would pick an offical video first before a live version. that way you can have something to compare with. alot of ppl say "oh do live, gotta do live". i love their live performinces but if you dont know what the original track sounds like,,,how do you know if one is better or not. plus sometimes they do the tracks differently between a studio and live versions. so even more sense to do OG first then Live.

For extreme vocals your friend might enjoy Yu from Mergingmoon. Yu is in the same catagory as Tati. And some say she's a little better. For a good track check out "Greyen" You can find a great live version on their channel.
Also Yukina from Hanabie.
Babymetal's biggest legacy is that they opened the door to all of these fantastic Japanese rock and metal acts. Don't leave Lovebites off your list.
Nemophilia are doing 7 dates in U.S this year.
You need to take a trip back in time with Japanese metal and check out Sex Machine Guns and X Japan, they both go back to the '80s I believe.
