    Hey Cee, the all female rock & metal scene in Japan is a thing, just ridiculous as in ridiculously good !! Nemophila is just one of many, they along with LoveBites & Band Maid are my 3 favorites. Please try, " A Frozen Serenade, " by LoveBites & " Domination, " live, by Band Maid.❤😎👌

    Nemophila is projected to achieve its true potential, topping most of other Japanese bands in a very short time. In addition to their skills in playing instrument and compose brilliant songs, each of the member also has such a beautiful and humble personality. Combination of all those will bring the band to the new height internationally. Nemophila really remind me how much I love heavy metal and trash metal music in the 80s-mid90s, as if I just met my 'old flame' that I left in the 90s without a proper closure.

    If you'd like to be blown away again, try Hanabie, their calling card is "We Love Sweets". Nemophila are probably the fastest rising stars of the genre at the moment but Hanabie are equally brilliant. For more Nemophila I would suggest going down the live route with Oiran live at Naon Yaon. It's epic. Enjoy!

    Thanks Cee you seem to be hitting most of my favorite bands. I love Nemophila and The Warning, I love Band-Maid even more. Try their live videos for "Play", "Freedom", "Domination" or frankly any other song that they have. Also if you don't know Jinjer, you need to check them out as well. Most people start with "Pisces", Teacher Teacher", "Home Back" and either "Perennial" live at Wacken or "Who is Gonna Be the One" live.

    Incredible musicianship in this band and all of these Japanese rock and metal bands like Lovebites.
    But Imho you’ll probably find you’ll like J-Rock Band-Maid more. They have tremendous diversity in their songs across all genres - even in the same song. They really are their own genre.
    I recommend you start with “Domination” official live video.
    You might just fall down the Pigeon hole forever like many of us.

    • @cepho8349
      @cepho8349 Před 2 lety

      Band-Maid are good, but overhyped imo. There are much better bands in Japan, let the alone the rest of the world.

  • @outwest1014
    @outwest1014 Před 2 lety

    The breakout internationally by Japanese Rock/Metal bands began with Babymetal at Sonisphere in 2014, followed by Band Maid's "Thrill" MV in 2015. 2 million views in 2 weeks on Facebook.Both have been touring in the US and Europe ever since. Lovebites and Nemophila are newer to the west with Lovebites having performed at 2 metal festivals in Europe and touring with Dragon Force in the UK. Band Maid and Nemophila will be performing at the Aftershock festival in October '22. kicking off Band Maid's 11 city US tour.
    We are hoping that Nemophila will least perform in concert in a few US cities before returning to Japan.
    There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands in Japan with most all female! Most of the the other bands have a least 1 female.
    Other bands for you; Bridear, Hagane, Unlucky Morpheus, Mary's Blood, and a very special band The Wagakki Band.
    Enjoy!!

    Nemophila is good, but LOVEBITES is on a whole different level. All female Japanese metal band that is way beyond what I ever could've expected. Their live stuff is 🔥 "Holy War" live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo would be a good place to start. But beware! Their catalog is deep and the rabbit hole is as well. 🤘

    • @DavidKAnderson
      @DavidKAnderson Před 2 lety

      To each their own. I prefer Nemophila (although I do quite like Lovebites). There's a level of chemistry and charisma that Nemophila possess that is just beyond anything else. Technically equivalent, too.

    Oh, you're literally just geting started...I checked to see what else you reacted to...lol Ok, you got a mix, Nemophila got me here...J-Rock and J-Metal, just the girl bands could keep you busy for a year I swear...lol I figure everyone else will make those recommendations (Ferrer is everywhere...lol ) How about a mix of K-pop and K-Rock? Rolling Quartz covering Dreamcatcher's Good Night...if you haven't heard that yet you might want to react to that first then come back to this one...for contrast...:) czcams.com/video/6ZMwFjO2yvY/video.html (here's the original - czcams.com/video/Lxfl8LRab_I/video.html)

    I like this band, am i a fan ? Not really the lead singer actually can sing, trust me in a few years this band will turn down a bit more they can go 1 of 2 ways keep the metal stuff just lesser screams/high pitched vocals or they totally change their sound.
    BUT for people who is not used to metal babymetal is the perfect band/group for people to get into metal. Its cute, its metal its cute metal/kawaii metal with influences from many bands, other types of metal and j-pop for the cuteness. Babymetal's latest album still has that metal but its more on diversity i guess you call it, it has a little flavor of many cultures in that album.
    Or can just listen to one ok rock for rock, taka has an amazing voice
